I would encourage anyone seeking a professional review of their tax and accounting needs to make time for a consultation with the Abdul family: they are the essence of a family run small business with mid-to-large market business acumen. Since then, I opened an LLC and Bob was instrumental in helping me to do everything appropriately. I was very worried about opening my own small business and wanted to make sure I was doing everything correctly and Bob was my go to for all my questions. More recently, my husband has also started coming to Bob and we have no complaints. He is always very helpful and informative, which is exactly what I am looking for with regard to my finances and financial future. His rate is about the average of what I have seen in NJ. I hired this firm to prepare my taxes last year and paid $400 for their services. Recently, another…read moretax professional identified a potential error related to the depreciation claimed on my rental property...something I would not reasonably be able to catch or verify on my own as a non-accountant. When I reached out to the office for clarification, I was told it would cost an additional $250 just to review the return and address questions or corrections. I do not believe it is appropriate to charge a client to fix or explain a potential error made during the original preparation. What's more concerning is that I was told that because I reviewed and signed the return, they are not responsible for assisting further. This is unrealistic...clients rely on professionals for their expertise, especially for complex areas like depreciation, which are not easily understood or verified without specialized knowledge. This experience reflects very poor customer service and lack of accountability. I would not recommend this firm and would advise others to seek a preparer who stands behind their work.
