If you are here in vacation and need to get your iphone repaired, head to iGeek and talk to Alex to help me through the whole process. I recommend coming here! I followed the instructions the best I could to seal the iPhone in it before going to the pool. To my dismay when we came out of the pool, the phone seemed to have a little bit of water on the screen. I was hopeful that the water didn't get inside the iPhone, which seemed to be functioning at that time. Long story short, the phone didn't continue to work much longer, the screen started to not respond and I powered it off. I didn't have any rice, and so went to some local stores to see if I could get some silica gels, which I did get and placed in a ziplock for 48 hours. But after plugging it in two days later, I did not get a response from the phone. So I decided to look up a phone repair service local to the hotel zone in Cancun and found IGEEK. I spoke with Gus on the phone before heading over, BTW the GPS was taking me to the wrong address, but wife spotted the name IGEEK at the corner where we were turning so we pulled over and it happened to be the right spot. Anyway, they examined the phone and told me that they will charge $35 to clean the elements and will let me know the following day what the damage was if any. Of course the next day I called they told me the screen was not functioning :( The cost for the screen repair was 6000 mexican pesos or $333. That to me sounded pretty insane! So i decided to bring it back to the US with me for a repair. I saw online videos for doing my own repair, but decided to take it back to the apple store, which opened it and said there was water damage in it, and evidence of cleaning inside. They offered to replace my 64 GB phone with another new device for $350. Which I decided to do. Gus as knowledgable and did show me that the phone was working, aside from the screen. However, the price was just too high for the replacement of the screen, when for $350 I was able to get a new replacement for the same phone. Had his price been more reasonable, I would have had the screen replaced. If you are in my situation, make sure you do not plug the phone in after your phone comes into contact with water. Turn Phone Off. Rice or Silica gel in a ziplock is probably a good idea. Leave for 48 hours and then try turning on. If phone doesn't turn on. Call IGEEK and have them clean it up. Hopefully, the phone will work. Lesson learned - leave phone in the hotel room, and no pouch is water proof. Even if it is, once bitten twice shy!

Apparently the screen isn't even the problem but they didn't tell me until the day it's supposed to be ready. Then he wanted me to pay for the screen and something else! I bring my phone and tell the desk lady that my screen went black randomly while on a call, I could still hear it and the alarms would go off until it died. I told her I plugged it in and it showed a lightening bolt charge sign but that was it. There was a crack in the screen as well but from weeks prior. So the guy replaces the screen and 2 hours before I'm supposed to pick it up, 8 Days after dropping it off, tells me that it isn't charging and it will be more to fix it.. Not to mention they tell me one price and then 2 weeks later when I came back they try to charge $1000 pesos more for the same service. Said they would honor the price since I had it in writing. When I went to recieve my phone back, the man was the RUDEST and most sarcastic man I have encountered. He would not listen to what I was trying to explain and would respond with some rude remark. I raised my voice feeling offended and he started SCREAMING at the top of his lungs and then started screaming in another language. I was scared so I screamed back, demanded my phone back and waited. He put back the cracked screen and I left. The phone definitely looks worse than when I left it and now I'm worried he messed it up more. Seems like a huge liar and a psychopath. Definitely rethink choosing EuroFix

At that time. their technician tested the item and stated that it only provided 75% of the charger capacity because it was designed for another product Shared to the salesperson their technician's assessment and I was guided to their manager Upon reviewing the same information, manager refused to refund my purchase price. With the intention of working with this retailer, offered to keep the cable if they would refund the charger unit price - they couldn't exchange (supposedly) because they didn't have the right product in stock Despite their technician's assessment and their salesperson's miscues, manager repeatedly refused to work with me or provide a refund for the incorrect product sold to me.

iShop specializes in Apple products: iPhones, Apple watches, iPads, covers etc., etc. My phone…read moretook a dump while here and I needed an excuse to upgrade, so it turned out that in Cancun, this is the best place to buy a new Apple phone (more expensive than in the USA, but less expensive than in Brazil). They had the model I wanted in the color I wanted with the memory that I wanted. I walked in, bought the phone, the cover and the screen protector and was out of the store in about 15 minutes, maximum. Right next door in Liverpool (a Mexican department store), you can apply to get a refund of the Mexican taxes they charge. This was a painless and quick process and I was very happy.
