When asked if it was going to be full or partial color, I told her I wasn't sure what he wanted and hoped that speaking with the stylist we would figure it out then. The girl suggested I call my son and ask him and then call back to make my appointment. I asked what the reason was for needing to know prior to making an appointment ? I was told that they focus on time management and they wouldn't want to schedule as a full when he would get partial bc that leftover time could've been filled and vise versa if i scheduled a partial but decided on a full. She doubled down on me figuring it out with my son and then calling back so the appointment would align with their "time management". I brought up the possibility of my 15 yr old son changing his mind mid appointment after discussions with his stylist etc. wouldn't customer satisfaction be the focus in this situation ? What happens then? Does "time management" trump our appointment ? Do you send us away when the chance of interfering with next customers scheduled time comes into play ? I was offered a consultation appointment that would , unfortunately , yes, mean I'd have to come back another day for the actual service. I'm 35 years old I've dyed my hair 6 times 4 perms and countless cuts over the years at probably over a dozen salons. I've never experienced such difficulty just trying to make an appointment; Seemed like a red flag to me. Shame though because their photos of their color services was impressive. Story has a happy ending though : I was able to make an appointment at another salon in Ridgewood after hanging up. I said the same thing I did when I called here , there was no problem at all. My advice : when a salon is so focused on time management to the point you can't even make an appointment: go elsewhere. I'm thankful actually. Since I have been going to Ana's, I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes to be seen by a stylist. The salon itself is fairly large compared to other Dominican hair salons I have been to. There are multiple stations for shampooing, hair cutting, and drying. The salon also offers the option to get nails done, but I have yet to use that service. The place is clean and well kept. I always get a wash and set. During my hair wash, the staff are always asking me how I am doing and if there is anything they can do to make the experience better. When they're done washing my hair, they always ask if my hair feels clean and fresh before they proceed to putting my hair up in rollers. The two stylists I have had consistently are Lucy and July (pronounced Julie). They are two of the best hair stylists I've ever had. Both of them are quick, efficient, and they leave my hair silky smooth and shiny. They also give me recommendations on hair products to use on my own to keep my hair healthy. I love this place and the people in it.

Threatening to cancel the appointment if I don't pay a ridiculousness No-show fee, which was just under the price of another haircut. Lecturing me on why what I did was incorrect, messaging me every minute I did not reply. Not even exaggerating since I only replied 3 times, which were calm and respectful responses. This was the most unprofessional reaction to such a small action. I understand when running a business every minutes is important but nothing should be handled like this childish outburst.
