Super easy process to check in and put my phone in a yondr pouch; as this was a phone free event. I loved that pre show while waiting in our seats they had Phoebe Bridgers music playing. The laser light show was exclusively made for the album. I really enjoyed getting my first listen with visuals which enhanced the experience. The RMSC staff were very kind and helped to keep the exciting energy going for the event. Really glad I was able to go as the shows kept selling out.

Not what it was. I was a member and a huge fan of the…read moreStrasenburgh Planetarium back in 1972, so returning after more than 50 years was a nostalgic experience. Back then, the planetarium felt truly special. I remember attending concerts where the band performed behind the dome. With the lights off, they were completely hidden while the stars were projected overhead, creating a unique effect that was unforgettable. The theater also had comfortable reclining seats, and the star projector itself was the centerpiece. For its time, the projected night sky was remarkably realistic and made every show memorable. On this visit, I was disappointed by how much had changed. The original star projector has been retired from regular use and now serves mainly as a display piece, although I understand it is occasionally operated for special programs. The current digital projection system didn't provide the same crisp, realistic view of the night sky that I remembered. I also found the replacement seating far less comfortable than the original reclining chairs as mentioned in the review below. I understand that maintaining a facility like this is expensive and that upgrades require funding. Even so, I left feeling that some of the planetarium's original charm and sense of wonder had been lost. I hope future renovations will improve both the seating and the presentation while preserving the history that made this place so memorable.

This museum is a treasure, from its exhibits & programs, to its staff it arrives to put the best…read morefoot forward educationally every single day. It contains a wealth of experience, knowledge & unique experience that highlights how valuable to the community it is. And it always has been. I've find childhood memories of frequent visits here with family, and my school. And hope whoever happens upon this humble review takes a chance and pays the RMSC a visit. As a day here, wandering the exhibits is a day well spent. Particularly with family.

The museum interior is definitely beginning to show it's age and some exhibits could use an upgrade for sure but overall the experience was great. I was surprised to see their Cafe was closed on a Saturday afternoon...very bizarre. But it is what it is. The price was a bit steep to be honest as well. On other experiences we've visited the planetarium which is excellent. Unfortunately they didn't have a show for us that day that we could make but it's OK. Definitely a great spot to visit with kids and the family for a nice afternoon.

The place is so adaptable to change... It's been remodeled a few times, with some much needed improvements. I've enjoyed so many very different events here, most recently beyond Van Gogh, a food tasting experience, Lego day and roller derby. They even hosted getting your Covid shot here because of the size of this place... So much space.

I saw the most recent production of The Nutcracker with the RCB, and as always, I was blown away by the intricacy of the choreography and the thought that was put into every detail, from the costumes, to the set, to the lighting. This year, I noticed some changes to the choreography that I really loved--they are always striving to improve and find new methods of storytelling! This year, in addition to the performances at Eastman Theatre with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, there were also performances held at Canandaigua Academy. I very much appreciated that because the tickets were at a much lower price point, which allowed me to be able to enjoy the performance, and I'm sure many other people who wouldn't have necessarily been able to attend the pricier performances at Eastman. I'm so glad that Rochester has such a thriving professional dance community, and I can't wait to see where it goes next!

I won free tickets to see Dustbowl Revival at the Nazareth Arts Center. The show was phenomenal! I…read morehadn't been to this venue before this show. It was a bit difficult for us to find it since our GPS led us through the winding campus roads. There was ample parking in front of the Arts Center which was a delightful surprise. Since we got there fairly early, we took a short stroll around the concert hall. There were beautiful sculptures and art pieces around, a cute seating area (for students I'm guessing). The evening didn't start out great. The usher literally led us to the wrong seats, on the opposite end of the theater. It was an ordeal finding our seats and the people we passed while looking for our seats were quite rude which put me in a bad mood. The seats were a bit cramped; I couldn't stand up to dance. They were comfortable enough to sit in though! The acoustics weren't fabulous from where I was sitting by the right side door. During the intermission, I stepped out. Again, the people down our row were rude and grunted at us as we tried to get passed them. The water fountain outside of the door did not work! The concessions stand only took cash and it was super crowded. I ended up going to a vending machine downstairs. The bathroom I went to (downstairs) was very clean and spacious. It was much nicer than I had expected it to be. Overall, I have mixed feelings about the Nazareth Arts Center. On the one hand, it was a pretty and clean facility with decent seats. But on the other hand there were so many small things like the incompetent usher and broken water fountain that really turned me off to it. I'm willing to give it another try and come back for another show in the future (hopefully with a different crowd).

It's in a converted church. I'm thinking it seats maybe 60-70 people you can see the old bones of the church. It's got a lot of potential for different staging of plays, a comedy review, a band and etc. We went to see The Vagina Monologues and it was excellent. They have a parking lot across the way which is a plus.

They have monitors in the backstage area, a modest spot for companies to sell their own concessions, and a near constant lineup of programming from the many theatre artists around town. Watching someone you grew up with step into their dream and absolutely thrive is something special…read more This studio is a true reflection of her heart--intentional, organized, and built with so much care. The training here stands out immediately. Technique is a priority, and it's taught with precision and purpose. Every class is thoughtfully planned so each dancer is truly learning and progressing, not just going through the motions. You can see that same level of detail in everything else too--from well-organized picture days to beautifully executed recitals that feel seamless and special for every family involved. Nothing is overlooked. Now that my daughter dances here, she knows the expectation--hard work, focus, and pushing herself to be better every day. She has tried to implement ideas to add structure to the studio (which we all loved the idea of) but because she is so incredibly immature it has been more negative than anything. She talks terribly about parents and students she doesn't like (as if she doesn't think word gets around). She is quickly gaining the reputation of saying one thing and doing another. It's a shame because our kids have been dancing with each other for years and still have a passion for their craft. So we are forced to shut our mouths for the sake allowing our kids to dance with their friends they've become so close with over the years. Most of the parents are professionals and business owners themselves. And are genuinely shocked when they communicate with her. And even more shocked at how immature she is when she walks around the studio. For lack of better words, she's reminding us of everything we hated about high school. Please do yourself a favor and rethink placing your child in this studio. Go somewhere that you're comfortable allowing your child to spend a lot of time at. Because once they've established friendships and their place on a team it's nearly impossible to place them in a different studio. Thank goodness for most of the teachers there. But you better hold your breath if you get a teacher that's in cahoots with her because your child WILL loose their passion for all things dance. One more thing. They should've checked the tags for the costumes they charged $120 for last year. We know it was $9.89 from Shein. We ordered it to make sure and it was the SAME EXACT ITEM. Same tag and everything.
