Part of my roadtrip through the Midwest had to involve a stop at Teddy's boutique. And it did not disappoint! Even though I didn't get to meet the legend himself, the staff there were all awesome. Super friendly and very down to talk watches at length, even with a vagabond like me who was just passing through. I didn't get photos inside, but the space is beautiful. Set up with sections for each brand, but still very open with a great flow through the entire store. Brand displays and lighting were excellent, very easy to appreciate the watches on display and read a bit on each of the brands represented at the boutique. I purchased a watch from Teddy Baldassarre because of the reputation Teddy has built within the watch community. Unfortunately, my experience did not reflect that reputation. The bracelet was unwearable for me due to severe hair pulling. I contacted Teddy multiple times seeking assistance and received no response. After repeated attempts, I was eventually told there had been an email issue and that my messages had not been received. After waiting for a response and being told the matter would be reviewed internally, the resolution I received was a link to manufacturers rubber strap options and a $25 Teddy Baldassarre store gift card. Products can have issues. What matters is how a company responds when a customer needs help. In my case, I felt ignored, neglected, and disappointed by how the situation was handled. If you are into watches, there isn't a better store for hundreds of miles in any direction. Plenty of brands to choose from with great staff to help you make an informed decision. Buying a luxury timepiece should always be this much fun. Plenty of choices for any budget as well. Only brands missing are Rolex and Tudor, but they have their own AD's for those brands. Last year my father passed away from dementia. For 3 years my wife and I cared for him in home hospice. One of the items he left me was a very old gold ICW watch. It was probably worth 3-5K. I wasn't sure if I was going to keep it or trade for something more modern, but that decision was taken away when it was stolen during a move after he passed. I was (and am) heartbroken over the loss that is forever connected with my dad. So I recently decided to buy a few watches (from Teddy) that included a Longines Hydroquest and Seiko Alpinist. They're not replacements, of course. I'm hoping to find the money for a GS SBGX357 blue snowflake, which would be more fitting of a legacy watch. Teddy's video reviews have been very helpful as I've taken up watch collecting as a side hobby while I fight an illness of my own. His online folks are helpful and they are very professional.
