I heard there is new ownership here. I got my car washed and my oil changed and everything was as expected!

The vehicle involved was a 2009 Ford Escape. My son, a new and inexperienced vehicle owner,…read moreattended this location for a routine oil change and relied entirely on the guidance of the service staff. Despite this being an older vehicle with no manufacturer requirement for premium oil, he was sold an "Ultra Premium Oil Package" at a cost of $179.99, resulting in a total invoice of $216.93. Ford does not recommend or require premium oil for this vehicle; a standard conventional or synthetic-blend 5W-20 oil change would have been fully appropriate. At no point was my son clearly informed that this premium oil was optional or unnecessary. He was led to believe it was recommended or required. Given his inexperience, this represents improper upselling and a lack of informed consent. I am not disputing that an oil change was performed. I am disputing the appropriateness of the oil package sold, the manner in which it was presented, and the excessive cost charged. As well, My son texted me while he was there and said the tech told him the Transmission was leaking very bad and needed to be repaired. I texted my son back and told him to have the tech show him the dipstick level. The tech did not show the level but had a picture on his phone that showed a dark, rusty colour liquid and was told there were metal fragments in the liquid. I advised my son to decline and we could look into this when he got home. When he got home I made sure the engine was warm and checked the level. It was still at full and clear. A bad leak would have shown a low level (we also do not have fluid marks on the driveway). When I called to enquire, the tech remembered and said he only presents options and my son chose the more expensive option on his own (my son disputes this and said they really pushed the more expensive due to the age of the vehicle and was told it was needed). He clearly did not tell the truth. I asked him what exactly he would do to fix the Transmission Leak. He told me he would do a Transmission Flush and add an additive which would stop the presumed leak. I then told him I checked the transmission fluid level and it was clear and full -he hung up on me. I called back and asked why he would hang up on me- I was not raising my voice but stated valid concerns. He said he got another call and was cut off. When I asked for the owners name he said he couldnt give it to me for confidential reasons but directed me to the bill with a phone number and email where I could state my concerns. I emailed and not suprisingly have not heard back.

He also made it seem like it wasn't an option for her to not have additional work done saying the car wouldn't run. She went in for an oil change and came out with a bill of over $300. When I called to question him he offered to give $20 off next time we returned. Very pushy and definitely took advantage of my daughters lack of experience and kindness.

DO NOT trust Angel with your car. After my car had been sitting for about a month because I was out…read moreof town, there was a loud thumping sound coming from my rear tire. I was going out of town for a week, and I asked my dad to take it in, and he did. Angel said it was the muffler casing, and he "fixed it". Came back from vacation, the car was still making the sound. I was going out of town again, so I asked my dad to take it back in. Throughout that entire time, the farthest I drove the car was about 15 minutes on city roads - no freeways, no long drives, just a couple of short city drives. When I came back from that trip, my dad told me that the rear end of the car was failing - the differential was failing, and the rim was bent and that because I "drove on it so much" it was a lost cause - that it'd cost more to fix it than the car is even worth. He said it'd last another 6 months to 2 years on city roads, and not to take it on the highway because it could seize. So, since I was moving to a different state in less than a month, I was scrambling to get some money for the car, and find a used one that I could make work with the small budget I had - since I'm 19. I ended up talking to my neighbor who was a car salesman for 35 years who said he didn't trust Angel from his own experience and asked to test drive the car. He drove it and said that he wasn't worried about it like Angel seemed to be and suggested we took it to his friend Chris at Dynamic Auto Repair in Farmington Hills. So we took it out there after hours and dropped it off and they let me know at 9:45AM the following morning that the issue was with the brake rotor - front and rear needed to be replaced, and the brake pads too, and that they could do it the same day and have me pick it up later that day. They were quick to contact me with the quote, assured me that the brakes were the issue, and actually took it out themselves to test drive it before and after the service to make sure the car was fixed and functional. So we had them fix the brakes and now the car - which if we'd listened to Angel, would've been sold to someone else and we would've spent thousands on a used car - was fixed for 1k and will now continue to last me at least a couple more years (it's a 2010). I'm thankful I got a second opinion, because if we'd blindly listened to Angel we would've spent a lot more time and money when we could've had it fixed and ready to go in less than 24 hours. DO NOT come here. DO NOT trust him with what he says about your car. Take it somewhere else, even take it to Dynamic Auto Repair and they'll give you much better and reliable treatment and care for your vehicle as it if were their own.
