I have a BA and can tell you, I would highly recommend New Horizons to anyone who is thinking about getting a new career. I've been to a lot of schools in my years. But none hold a candle to New Horizons Tampa. The reason why I say this, during my time at NH. I've had some major life hardships from a car accident to major depression. And everyone at NH went beyond what any school should do. They are truly genuinely compassionate and caring but students. Not money. The instructors Devin Ogden, Robert Campbell, Matt Grimes were prepared, engaging and always approachable. Even the front desk Brianne Bradford & Jade Lea-Wellington. Have help beyond the scope of their jobs Especially Bobby Ceklic (General Manager) you wouldn't believe how he is always approachable. And on point getting things done. Even if I was thinking I wasn't that important, but he showed me that even I mattered. Madison Haltiwanger Thxs for always making sure we get all or labs, books, and extra help. Scott MacDonald the man that sold me into this awesome School and always there through the good times and bad. Always following up on me. Debbie Haugland the miracle woman. She can take a horrible resume and turn it into a royal resume. And fulfilling all students with a match of a dream job. Thank you New Horizons of Tampa. For making New Horizons when I saw no horizons for me.

Well it finally happened. After -redacted- years with a spotless driving record I finally got my…read morefirst "speeding" ticket. Because I had a death in the family shortly after I got the ticket I ended up missing the deadline to request a court date. That meant that my only real option was to attend traffic school and pay the fine. The circumstances under which I got the ticket were more than a little suspect. To say that I was bitter about having to do all of this would be the understatement of the decade. There are tons of options for traffic school via online courses, but that was something I really did not want to do. Even though you can break up the four hour course into parts that did not make it appealing to me. With all the distractions at home and the less than thrilling subject matter I would drag out the course over a long time. I just wanted to take the "Band-Aid" approach by dealing with the pain of pulling it off in one session. This school is just a single room with some folding tables in the back of a strip mall. I woke up earlier than I ever would on a weekend to drive here and join other groggy looking unhappy people. They had free coffee and donuts to help with that. The way the traffic school works is that there are actually several different classes going on simultaneously. We had some 15-year-olds who were there for a new driver course. On the opposite end of the spectrum we had people that were there for a 12 hour driving course! If you're thinking that people who are taking a 12 hour driving course must have done something terrible you would be correct. It was equally fascinating and horrifying hearing about what they had done. Some of them were ticketed going well over 100 miles an hour (and that wasn't the only ticket they received recently). A good number of people were there for the four hour class that I took. A huge reason for my five star review is our instructor Georgie. She was simply wonderful. She had me cracking up before the class even began, which was no small task considering my foul mood. She knew that we did not want to be there and could have just read through her lesson plans without caring about that, but she really tried (and succeeded) in making the material interesting and added humor to it. I don't drink so a large portion of the class that was dedicated to alcohol did not apply to me, but she still kept my interest. I laughed several times during class. After a while the baby-faced new drivers left the classroom and then before I knew it my four hours was up and it was time for me to leave also. For a second I felt bad about the people that were still going to be there for eight more hours but then I remembered what they had done and that went away quickly. The only complaint I have is that the bathroom situation is super awkward. The bathroom is a tiny little room in the back corner of the classroom. Even though I was seated in the middle of the classroom I could still hear what was going on in that bathroom! I am very glad that I attended the school. I hope that I will never need their services again but if I do I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

I thought the security was visible from the metal detection at the entrance to the sheriff officer by the desk. Once inside, the children area is located just to the right. It was very clean and an employee was consistently reshelving books that the kids took off the shelf to look at. There are two computers in the children's area to explore learning activities. The seating/furniture was okay but not super kid friendly. I would have liked to see some bean bag chairs or a carpeted area for a casual relaxed reading. It was not crowded at all just after the lunch hour and it was a good time for all of us.

The children's area is almost nonexistent and the lack of parking is still an issue. This location is the most convenient to my house, but I would rather drive further to the Jan Platt library because there is plenty of parking, a larger selection of books, and there is an incredible children's section that is walled off so you don't have to worry about young children disturbing the peace at the library. This is one of the smallest libraries in Tampa so chances are that they won't carry the book(s) that you're looking for.
