After…read moreabout a week of research and going to different Coding Schools int the Bay Area I took a break. As much as I am not a fan of Facebook I have to thank them because they showed me and Ad about NexGent's ZTE (Zero to Engineer) program. I started doing research on what a Network Engineer does and realized this was what I wanted to do. I watched an intro video on their website and submitted my info. The next day I received a call from NexGent and spoke with Matt for about an hour and signed up the same day. The program itself is amazing. Jacob and Terry did a great job putting it together. They start on a very basic level and gradually move up to more complex things. They are natural teachers. They also have a group coaching call once a month for an hour. I was able to get all of my questions answered. Fast Forward to 8 months later and I am know proud to say that with their help, I have obtained my Comptia Network + and Full CCNA (200 - 125) and I am currently working towards getting my CCNP. The school also helps you build your online presence and help you get a job. These guys really care and you can tell they love what they do! It is an understatement to say NexGent is AWESOME!!!

Each week students get to learn 2 subjects…read more Attendance is strict (as they should be) and while Gavin preferred to have his lunch packed, it is great that students are provided a lunch during their day (8:30-3PM) and a snack. 1st week: firefighter and pharmacy 2nd week: film and production and veterinarian 3rd week: AI engineering and medical science Today is his last day. He said that he's enjoying the AI engineering, that fire was hard, but he didn't care for film and productions. Regardless, the program gave students a curriculum to follow and kept them learning for 3 weeks. I was just surprised when it was him that wanted it, not just me pushing this on him. Rather that than being on the phone any day. I will say though that some parents are not thoughtful and considerate. To be in this program (which is free) and kids from various schools are provided free transportation, free lunch, free snacks.. the only requirement was for the students to remain at school the entire time. You cannot pick and choose when you want your kid to attend classes. A lot of students were turned away for your student yet you don't have the common courtesy to adhere to the program requirement. Gavin shared a lot of students were cut the 2nd week which means other students/families could have benefited from this.

I am Extremely disappointed in how student concerns are handled at Silicon Valley Career Technical Education. When issues involving an instructor were raised, administration minimized the situation and demanded excessive "proof" rather than taking the concerns seriously. This response shows a lack of accountability and poor leadership. A school should protect students, not dismiss them. Families should think carefully before enrolling.

I highly HIIIIGHLY recommend BATA to anyone interested in and serious about EMS. Took an 8-week…read morecourse, and it was a blast. Scottie Johnson is a fantastic instructor. I cannot stress how chill and nice he was. The course was taking a toll on my physical and mental health, but Scottie's cheerful optimism kept me going. He truly embodies positive energy and makes lectures so much more bearable. His storytelling and advice were very eye-opening as well. I regret not approaching him for help more often. However, unsurprisingly, it's very rigorous. For anyone looking at an 8-week course, you will spend 20 hours a week: 10 hours on lectures (MW or TTh; 5 hours each) and 10 on skills (Sunday); of course, with breaks in between. Lectures will cover 6 chapters per week, and you will take lecture exams every weekend on the day of your skills instruction. You should be able to dedicate a huge amount of time to reading through the course material (at least 20 hours imo). So please reconsider your decision if you're planning to work or study full-time during the course. Otherwise, give it a shot! Be cool and professional, and most important of all, make sure you have a great time. I promise you, it'll be worth it.

I just completed the 7.5-week expedited course, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the experience. First and foremost, know this: it's a fast-paced, demanding course, and success requires putting in the work. But if you're serious about learning, BATA provides everything you need to excel--exceptional instructors, hands-on training, and a structured approach that sets you up for real-world success. Scottie, the lead instructor, is one of the best teachers I've ever had. He's knowledgeable, engaging, and has a great balance of keeping the class fun while knowing when to get serious. He truly cares about his students and their success. BATA also brings in a fantastic team of instructors--shoutout to Kyle, Justin, Nadeline, Eric, and Tony--each of whom adds their own expertise and teaching style. With so many instructors, the course feels personal rather than overwhelming, ensuring plenty of one-on-one guidance and hands-on practice. From day one, you can tell that BATA is well-organized and genuinely committed to training top-tier EMTs. They focus on real-world scenarios and practical skills, not just textbook knowledge, which makes a huge difference when preparing for the field. For anyone considering their EMT certification--whether your goal is becoming a first responder or using it as a stepping stone for another route like medical school--you will be in great hands at BATA.

I was recruited personally by a dental hygiene student, as it seems they are in dire need of patients. When I first entered the clinic, all of the seats were taken up by people, so I was amazed that they seemed to be actively recruiting for patients, essentially. When I got my screening and assessment, I got an inkling as to why. Basically, the students need to do an exam on a live patient in order to pass for their certification, but a patient needs to meet very specific criteria in order to be used... I happen to have been one of them. Yes, everything is free, but it's balanced out by the time that you need to spend there. For example, the student performs dental scaling, notes down their observations, and then they need to wait for their instructor to come and do it again and make their confirmations or corrections. I had a good time working with my dental hygienist in-training, as she was very approachable, communicative, and informative. I learned a lot about dental work through her! I stopped going because I wasn't comfortable with multiple people working on my mouth (mainly happened because multiple students wanted to pass their test using me), I had other life issues that occurred at the same time, it was rough on me to spend the time to commute back and forth to San Jose, and their scheduling availability was not the most ideal. They seemed to only have a morning and afternoon session, each of which can take up to 4 hours. If you happen to be in a situation where you need a free dental screening, cleaning, or deep cleaning, and have time on your hands, I think this is a fine opportunity to explore.

Learned pretty quickly, I was completely unprepared for real world IT. I knew the basics when it came to networking, Gpu,cpu, mobo, ssd you know all the components you would expect to learn about But the thing is, I barely knew anything Because they really taught us anything. Just enough to take our money The rest of the coursework was solely based off the comptia book and a few spreadsheets they gave to us but that was it ! , I can't speak for how it is now ? But if you are the class of 2022 or 2023 ? Goodluck you were scammed lol ! fortunately I managed to make it work and started from the bottom worked myself to higher positions along the way I'm now a Production Tech ( industrial ) no thanks to Cet I had to make it happen that school is not going to help you, you would be better off buying the comp T book online. Special shout out to Renaldo ! He was the first I.T teacher I had And was actually very knowledgeable, As far as the field goes unfortunately it did not last long and he was let go for reasons Not explained ? My second teacher was an idiot I doubt he could even build tbh, Just took our own money and ran As far as I understand it only a couple of us In my class actually stuck with the field the rest went and looked for other careers. It's sad, but I honestly can't blame them For the lack of real education, we had at the school. Do not go here For I.T !!!!! You can learn online for as little as $300 ! You can even just learn off youtube tbh At least the basics
