I noticed there were some bad reviews, but I thought I would give these guys a try,,,,, BAD MISTAKE!!!! My Girlfriend ended up with over an INCH LONG LACERATION in her leg because of broken glass in my vehicle!
I tried reaching out to the owner, because he leaves his information after each bad review saying please contact me. 2 weeks later ... no reply. The following is my email to Travis.
After cleaning up all the glass myself, it looks like I missed one little shard that had become embedded in my front passenger seat. When my girlfriend got in my truck with her shorts on, she ended finding the shard the hard way as it sliced her leg open. So now I have blood to clean out of the seat as well.
Travis,
Yesterday (July 19 2016) I had the rear window in my truck replaced in your Sandy location, and came away from the whole experience frustrated at the quality of work. My truck is a 4 door 2006 dodge ram, and one side of the rear window was broken. Before coming into the shop I had vacuumed out most if not all of the broken glass, and if any glass remained it was located in close proximity to the driver's side rear door. When I picked up the truck, I found large shards of glass located on the dash of my vehicle. When I asked about the chunks of glass on my dash, the technician had a half smile on his face and a sheepish look, and replied when he removed the back window of my vehicle the two remaining panels broke. The technician also informed me that it was hard to remove the old glass, as he could tell the back window had been replaced before. However the glass that was in the truck before was OEM glass and it was clear that it had not been replaced before as I've known the entire history of the vehicle since it was first purchased. I guess he told me it had been replaced before to justify the broken glass on the dashboard.
After I picked up my truck and drove home, I inspected the back window, and noticed there were several scratches in the paint, where none had been. I attribute these scratches to the removal process of the rear glass. The technician never mentioned anything about damaging my paint during the process. After seeing the scratching in the paint, I started to think about the broken glass on my dash. The level of force that someone would have to hit the window to send shards of glass all the way from the back of the vehicle (about 6 or 7 feet forward) to the front dashboard would be a lot. In addition to the broken glass I found on the dashboard, upon closer inspection I found a lot of broken glass in the bed of my truck as well.
So this all makes me wonder what level of care are your technicians taking with my vehicle, and also what methods did they using to remove or "break" the remaining glass in my rear window, before pulling it out to replace it. The impact required to send that much glass 6 or 7 feet forward from the back of the vehicle to the front of the vehicle would have to be a lot. The technician did not act surprised when there was glass on the dash, and he gave me the impression that he was almost amused by its presence there, as if he might have had "fun" "breaking" the remaining two panes of glass. What did he use a hammer or a big wrench to bash in the glass?!? Also if glass made it all the way from the back of the vehicle to the front of the vehicle, I can only assume that there are shards of glass (both small and large) that landed somewhere in-between. Out of concern for having someone get cut by a small shard of glass I ended up spending a lengthy amount of time vacuuming out my truck last night, and during the process I was able to find more glass on the floor mats and under the seats.
Additionally, when I first called your 1800 number I spoke with Carsen (I guess from one of your call centers) and he told me that the rear glass would be replaced with OEM factory glass, because that is what it currently had in the vehicle. When I got arrived at the Sandy store, I also asked about the glass, and the girl at the front desk said the glass would come from safelight, and they have OEM glass. Based on these assumptions I went ahead with the install, however when I received the vehicle back, the glass was an off brand glass and not OEM Chrysler glass. Had I known this, I would have gone to a different shop.
Overall I'm a little frustrated at the level of care, or lack of care, that was used while replacing the rear window of my vehicle. Broken glass everywhere, scratches in my paint, and I received different glass than what I was told I would get. Needless to say it was less than a pleasant experience getting my rear window replaced by your company. read more
