They will take your laptop for some days to make it look as they are doing anything, will install only a few software to show they did anything but didn't fix anything. They ignore all emails and put some friend taking the calls to make it look they are a company and that woman just ask all details about you (in the 2 calls i made) for nothing instead of giving the refund and only says they will contact soon, which they obviously never do because why would they when they can just earn 70£ for free. Avoid like the plague.

Initially they found 30 viruses on it, and a further 40 by the time they were done with it. Thankfully, it worked perfectly when i got it back, and although I would have had to pay extra to have my files backed up, I had so little on there the staff kindly did it for free. In the end, and thanks to my student discount, I ended up paying around £80 for the whole job. Which did hurt a bit. One thing I would appreciate would have been an upfront price, because they charged me for the amount of time and workmanship needed for the job, rather than giving me a proper quote. My laptop is doing much better, and they did reinstall a new operating system for me, although they were a bit stingy and wanted me to pay for the anti virus as well. Or maybe I'm the stingy one, I dunno.

Like many independent computer shops, they offer a range of services - from sales of new and refurbished PCs, accessories and peripherals; to repairs and upgrades. I was almost forced into using this shop when my old laptop became overrun with viruses and spyware due to a poor choice of antivirus software on my part. A quick search online revealed this to be the closest to where I lived, and so I paid them a visit. Their repair team were able to successfully restore my computer back to full health in a few days, and were also able to recommend a better antivirus product. I found the staff to be helpful and attentive, taking time to explain the repairs in detail, as well as providing useful advice about how to avoid a similar situation in the future. Although the shop may appear small from the outside, the website belies the fact that this is shop that can do a lot for you. I don't regret using them at all - after their work, the laptop ran for another 3 years. I have recommended them to my friends, and I would commend them to you! A great alternative if you want to avoid the massive national chain stores.

The guy was quite intimidating although I am sure he didn`t mean to be that way, or the guy who appeared behind me as I demanded a repair to a shoddy job. The guy was adamant that a wee crack on the screen was the fault and refused to even look at the 4 minute video of it ghosting. He keeps saying `its the crack, it the crack, its the crack`. Darius at Hex was the first person I spoke to that gave me any confidence that the laptop could be repaired. I took the laptop to him on Monday afternoon, and he was compassionate, transparent, and very professional in th communicating to me what the timeline and options would be. Hex fixed the computer well enough for me to use an external keyboard the next day and expedited ordering of a replacement laptop keyboard so that I had it back working this afternoon. Very reasonably priced and wonderful service. I could not be more pleased and I highly recommend Hex for your computer repair needs.

The prices here are generally pretty competitive and you will be likely to struggle to find somewhere else that can match both its range of products and prices - I certainly haven't come across such a place. In addition you get very good customer service and the staff know what they are talking about. It's well worth a visit especially if you have any repairs that need doing. I'm no expert on computers, but this does seem to be a good shop.
