Hardev Singh of Property Professionals Realty asked me to come meet the landlords and to **please bring the money** for the Craigslist listing he contacted me through. I asked Hardev Singh if it could wait, as I can't take such a large amount of money out on the weekend from an ATM as the banks were already closed. Our interview went well and the landlords told me we could move in after a day or two when the broker has a new key made. The next day, I left a message for Hardev Singh to advise that I now had the money because it was Monday and could go into a bank now to withdraw. I didn't hear from him after a couple of days about my money or the key, so I called to see what's up and said that I'm not comfortable holding onto a large amount of cash indefinitely. The broker denied that it was decided we were moving in. I have no idea why, and the broker would not provide me with an explanation. I hope the Property Professionals Realty broker agent or the landlords were not being prejudiced against my black boyfriend (whom the broker didn't meet until my bf and I both met the landlords), but I can't think of why we couldn't move in after the Landlords told us, especially since he offered zero reasons. I tried speaking with Hardev Singh yet again about my experience a few weeks later to sort out any misunderstandings, but he denied he'd ever spoken to me or knows anything about the apartment he showed me in-person with the landlords present. I wrote a google review about this, and they threatened to report me, accusing me of lying. I proved them wrong by posting screenshots of my phone logs with attempts to discuss with both their main office AND Hardev Singh's multiple times weeks later, before writing my review. They still did not respond... so I'm still not sure if it was because they realized my bf is black or what. Does anyone think I should report them to the board that oversees real estate agencies regarding their craigslist hunting, posting, and mysteriously ditching people without reason given?

This wasn't our first rodeo buying or selling property. From our past experience, real estate…read moreagents from the most reputable companies are usually in it for the money, to quickly buy or sell your property for you. The politeness will be there initially, but as time wanes, their patience tires and they just want their commission and to move on. This time around, we opted to go with Redfin's business model of salaried employees and work with Peggy Papazaharias. From the very beginning, we couldn't have appreciated a better agent. Throughout our 1+ year of looking for a property in multiple towns 10+ miles apart, Peggy was sweet, polite and attentive. On tours of homes, she would actually help point out things in the home to watch out for and houses to downright just avoid. Most agents would try to spin things for the positive, to try and get you to buy the property. She never once lost her patience. If she was not available to tour a house with us, she would ask one of her colleagues to attend with us. We actually felt like we built a personal relationship with Peggy who we are more than willing to work with again. She made the whole process a lot smoother and pleasant. Even after we had gone in contract, she had consistently dropped us emails or text messages to see how things were going. I've seen one too many times where other agents start to lose interest once the contract was signed. If somebody wasn't responding, whether it be the seller, buyer's attorney, seller's attorney, mortgage broker, or title company; she'd try and reach out for us. We had a good idea of potential real estate brokers and title companies we wanted to work with. Rest assured, I did my homework, creating spreadsheets and spreadsheets of all the good faith estimate fees the banks/mortgage brokers and title companies charged. But once she gave us her recommendations, we wholeheartedly trusted her advice and opted to work with those companies. Long story short, if you want to skip all the legwork and research, take Peggy's recommendations. We wound up saving a very considerable amount from closing fees. Her guidance and advice throughout the process was invaluable and nothing but positive experiences. If you're looking to buy a property around Long Island, New York and are considering breaking away from working with a traditional real estate agent, I'd recommend working with Peggy from Redfin. And don't forget Redfin also refunds a portion of the commission to you that they make. That's just icing on the cake!! Peggy, many thank you's for everything that you did for us. We love you and will pass on the good word to all our friends and family looking to buy/sell property.

She was not pushy at all like the other real estate agents. We get to select the houses that we want to see from their website and caitlin would schedule them for us. She would tell us what to lookout for in a house since we were first time homebuyers. And when it came to giving an offer she would tell us whether the price was fair and what she thinks of the sellers. She also gave us a list of inspectors and mortgage brokers to use. They were great too!! We didn't have to scramble to look for them ourselves. Caitlin was also very responsive whenever we called or emailed her. The BEST PART about going with Redfin was that we also get some money back after we close the house! Now why would anyone not go with them???
