I highly recommend the services of Team Laguna, in particular its owner, Danielle Purcell. We hired Team Laguna to obtain a renter for our family home in Laguna Beach. Danielle and her team were professional, responsive, insightful, strategic, and fair. While our home may have been one of the least expensive single family home rentals on the market in Laguna Beach, I always felt like we were a priority for Danielle. She obviously has decades of experience in the rental business and I appreciated that she was looking out for our best interests while also being fair to the tenant. Dani Purcell was pretty dishonest with us. She signed a contract to find a tenant for our property where she agreed not to accept money on our behalf but then did it anyway. It was blatantly dishonest and when I asked her about it she basically said she didn't care and when she signed the contract she never intended to adhere to that part of the agreement. She gives Realtors a bad name. And caused a huge problem for the tenant whose money she took. read more

I recently found a great rental with Zach from Team Laguna. Prior to meeting Zach, I saw a picture of a young man and was curious to see how things unfolded. He was attentive, focused, and a real pleasure to engage with. It was refreshing to see his earnestness in the entire process and his authentic enthusiasm for Laguna. When touring a Coast Highway apartment, he asked for the other agent's silence so we could all hear the potential traffic noise. Additionally, since my credit was so good, he negotiated and got me a lower security deposit. It's those kinds of touches that I truly appreciated. I scheduled an appointment to view an apartment with Danielle on Tuesday January 3rd for Thursday January 5th at 230. I showed up to the apartment with my wife at 200pm and called to ensure the viewing was still on schedule and was informed they have rented the property already. No phone call to me or email to inform me or my wife they have rented the apartment. Very disappointed in the lack of professionalism in this company especially when I called their office and Lisa couldn't answer any questions regarding the mix up or offer any assistance to any other properties at the least. I wish I had read the reviews...the one thing I can say is there is consistency. This firm should not be in business...and for no other reason than the owner of the business. Danielle has no business relating to people..the others who work for her are professional and polite. I had plenty of people (my neighbors in Laguna) tell me not to sign with Danielle and I am not sure why I didn't heed their advice....but she did find a great couple to lease my home and they have been amazing tenants. Unfortunately, Danielle makes commitments that she fails to follow thru on and then threatens. I had heard this behavior from my neighbors when they begged me not to list with her...but when you see her signs up all over town you question whether theirs was just a personal issue. They were right.....she is bad news. I am now forced to file a suit to pursue her failure to adhere to commitments made. As a landlord living on the east coast this is a total pain....but fortunately my company is handling this. Do yourself a favor if you are reading this and FIND ANOTHER FIRM. I agree, she was abrasive, rude and somewhat mean. I too was taken aback by her personality. Basically, my landlord wanted to end my lease and she was the conduit. Not a good experience at all. Fast forward 3 years and now I am looking for a new place in Laguna. I get hooked up with Dusty Facinelli through random circumstance to be honest. He is FANTASTIC. Thoughtful, convenient, committed, and most of all, just really pleasant to work with. I cannot say enough about him. He worked around the clock to help us out and find what we needed. Guys be warned don't rent with Team Laguna! When you move out they show their real face. We had the apartment professonaly cleaned twice after ending our lease but it was still not enough for them they went in with a magnitute glass and found the smallest dust corn. So after cleaning the house twice and it was really spotless they still took money from our deposit According to the department of consumer affairs, (and being that you are professional in this industry, you should not have to be reminded of these laws) we are not responsible for fixing up your apartment so you can rent it out for the next tenant. "Normal wear and tear to carpets, drapes and other furnishings cannot be charged against a tenant's security deposit". A landlord cannot routinely charge each tenant for cleaning carpets, drapes, walls, or windows in order to prepare the rental union on for the next tenancy. In addition, the landlord could not charge for the cumulative effects of wear and tear. Suppose, for example, that the tenant had washed the kitchen floor but that it remained dingy because of wax built up over the years. The landlord could not charge the tenant for stripping the built-up wax from the kitchen floor." I feel they totally took advantage of us to fix the house up for the next tentant. Make sure to take pictures of everything before you move into one of their properties. read more

I've been renting properties for a little over 6 years now and have dealt with many different Realtors, but these guys are the biggest mess I've ever encountered. Not only was the Realtor completely incompetent and unreliable (taking vacations without telling us, never answering their phone, knew seemingly nothing about the property or the rental terms, etc.), but they were also very rude; they left us in the dark for about a week after they already rented the property we applied for! We found this out via text message after leaving multiple voice mails for our "Realtor". If you're looking to rent in Laguna, you're much better off renting from the owner directly. After viewing a number of rentals listed by Team Laguna with one of their representatives, my girlfriend and I applied for one of them. We had to call more than once to get any information regarding the status of our applications. We were told that the property owner was "looking at other applicants", however "she might consider renting to us if we were willing to pay a (considerably) higher deposit". The agent never explained to us why we were being left in limbo, nor was there ANY follow-up. Our experience with Team Laguna left a bad taste in our mouths, and I see that we are not alone!
