I've never been to pain management as my primary care doctors knew me, my conditions, and managed my pain. I guess they felt confident in their abilities unlike Webb. I searched for a pain doc and decided on this place due to all of the good reviews and because he's black. It's no secret that 6F doctors treat black patients differently than they do 6F patients and I felt Dr.Webb would be more kind and compassionate regarding my pain as a young black female with many health conditions. WRONG! The appointments with Webb were always rushed, he never did a physical exam on me, never ordered any x-rays or mri's (I thought odd since there is a radiology facility down the street), bloodwork, didn't document my right arm pain, never diagnosed me, and overall he didn't seem interested or engaged with me much. Just stared at his computer talking to his nurse. My first appointment was a consult that consisted of nothing really but him telling me he was going to call in some expensive cream from Louisiana and I had to go to physical therapy. I have joint pain from the Wegener's, acute pancreatitis, sciatica, and back pain. I let him know my history, the med I was on, what I cannot take which is NSAIDS including Tylenol as it has caused pancreatitis in me. He said he wanted my records before prescribing anything but he said he would prescribe me Percocet (he claimed to not and not the med I was on. He said he doesn't prescribe oxycodone which is a lie as he told me he does. I personally faxed him over past medical records including pharm records to show I took the med and how often I got it filled, my rheumy faxed him over office notes as he requested, and even called him and left him his personal cell number if he wanted to talk to him. My rheumy called me that night and let me know he called Webb etc. Webb and his 6F nurse claimed to not know anything about that. They faxed his office again. My previous pain med was oxycodone immediate release 15mg AS NEEDED for pain and I did not take it all the time. I explained this to Dr.Webb, in detail, and how I was prescribed that last summer when I was hospitalized with pancreatitis and the hospitalist told me to not take Tylenol. Dr.Webb ignored it. He first prescribed Norco (later he said he didn't remember saying Percocet and it seems like he has memory issues) a med that has Tylenol in it. I wasn't going to take it and still haven't though I did have it filled because I felt I was stuck with this doctor. I also have a weakness of giving people chances so I thought at the 3rd visit I would attempt to explain yet again. I spoke with the pharmacist after he filled it and I let him know all of this and how I spoke with Webb about this. The pharmacist could see my profile and saw the last pain med I was on. He told me pure oxy doesn't have Tylenol but Norco does. I attempted to talk to Dr.Webb again on the phone and I have the conversation recorded. Georgia like Alabama is a one party consent state so I don't need anyone's permission to tell them I am recording them or get their permission. I have an app installed on my phone because I had some dealings with an ex employer that lied on me and I had to sue them. I won't go into the full call but it was basically Webb playing semantics, wasting my time and telling me I would have to have kidney failure or be on my death bed before he'd continue my med I was on that worked for me, etc etc. He also said "I have to protect my business". Red flag right there it was never about patient care but about business. I also let him know the first med he prescribed me was something I hadn't taken since the beginning of 2020 and that dosage wasn't even something I had been on. Again he played semantics and said I had taken it and again I had to explain the last time I took it and why I couldn't. It was clear he did not bother to read all of the records he claimed he wanted. in fact he told me at the last visit "I don't go by what other doctors say". Lol so then why the heck would you want my records including imaging if you don't go by what other doctors say? At the last visit he prescribed me oxycodone with Tylenol again something I told him I couldn't take. Only this time I went ahead and filled it and took one pill. I ended up having a reaction to it (neck swelled, throat closed, and hurt, hurts to talk, gastro issues flared, etc). On Jan.28 I called Webb to let him know and speak with him but his secretary said "he doesn't call people back" and of course he never called me back. I have filed a complaint with the medical board and will seek legal action. Instead of wasting people's time Webb should review records FIRST before taking on patients he's scared to treat or not be a pain doctor. That little $35 copay they contacted me about I will not pay

My Atlanta journey to healing has been long and challenging, beginning over a decade ago as a new out-patient at the Shepherd Pain and Rehabilitation Center here in Atlanta. Thanks to their innovative care, I was able to transition out of a wheelchair after seven years of confinement due to a disability caused by a New York podiatrist: disabiling me completely at 48 years of age in 2005. The best pain management doctors in New York City finally told me there was no hope for my recovery or my ability to live without prescribed opiates. Moving here to receive help from the doctors at Shepherd Center was a BIG step of faith and hope! They were quickly able to alleviate my pain without narcotics, and set me on a multi-year path of rehabilitation that was informed by their faith in God to heal, their innovative thinking and their amazingly consistent forward thinking, medical training and care! As I approached my sixth decade of life however, I found myself still struggling with pain, the remnants of years spent bed-bound and wheelchair-dependent. My spine was twisted, and my hips and back were misaligned, but I was unaware of the extent to which this was still affecting my well-being. I had long avoided chiropractic care due to a negative experience my mother had in the 1970s. However, faced with the realization that traditional physical and occupational therapy could no longer improve my condition, I found myself at a crossroads, contemplating a future reliant on prescription medications to manage my pain. It was at this point that I sought out Dr. Karen Ferguson for my first chiropractic assessment. Burdened by relentless pain that was diminishing my hard-won quality of life, I feared that I might once again become wheelchair-bound, or worse, bedridden again. My hope was fading, and I felt myself becoming invisible to those around me. Pain was stealing my time, my ability, my productivity, and even my spiritual light. I felt alone, stuck, and despairing, with no one to turn to. My prayers became desperate pleas for divine intervention. Dr. Karen's approach was nothing short of transformative. With her gentle voice, careful touch, and expert understanding of both my physical and emotional state, she not only provided treatment but also renewed my sense of hope. In her care, I felt seen, heard, and understood--a deeply comforting experience in what had become some of my darkest moments. Under Dr. Karen's watchful eye and expert touch, I began to heal. The connection I experienced between myself, my chiropractor, and my Creator allowed me to trust in the sacred process of recovery. Through consistent chiropractic treatment, I reclaimed activities that pain had once stolen from me. My joy was full! Dr. Karen is not only a skilled chiropractor but also a compassionate healer who understands the intricate connections between body, mind, and spirit. Her care has restored my faith in my body's ability to heal and has given me back the life I once thought was lost! Before chiropractic adjustments it had been impossible for me to sit, stand, walk, or bend without severe pain and I was always at risk of falling. Within a few mere months of committing to consistent chiropractic treatment at Ferguson Family Chiropractic, my body began to respond, and healing took place. Along with normal daily activities some of the first exciting activities I was able to enjoy under Dr. Karen's care included: * Traveling as a passenger by van for nearly 2,000 miles, (taking 6 days and following careful instructions to stop, move, and rest) to visit our military son and his family! * Walking with my family around the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. * Hiking easy trails in beautiful locations across Colorado and Arizona. * Camping and fishing with my children and grandchildren. * Driving myself in Atlanta traffic without crippling pain. * Bending and kneeling to plant flowers and bulbs in my backyard. With ongoing care at Ferguson Family Chiropractic since 2018 I have been able to: * Ride my own bike again. * Walk and jog in my first-ever 5k, earning a medal for placing first in my age group. * Buy a camper with my husband and travel for 14 weeks across the Western USA (and many trips since.). * Hike the Narrows at Zion and through massive canyon walls in Utah. * Climb the White Sands dunes in New Mexico. * Go to Alaska and hike to the base of a glacier waterfall to feel it's cold spray on my face. * Spend 10 days walking and enjoying rides at Disney with my hubby, daughter and grandson without needing the assistance of an electric scooter. * Experience various thrilling tram and gondola rides and to walk across the longest, highest swinging suspension bridge in Canada. * Go tubing with my family down The Little River in Tennessee.
