Soaps, honey, 2d artwork.... the garden stacks are a favorite! I stopped here back in October and John found a coaster with his college on it! This time they had a matching mug in stock. The huge dog was the lasting impression and the young man who was so nice to chat with me! This was another shop that surprised me inside- it was huge and had beautiful displays!!! I had to lap the building a few times just to decide on a piece! John helped too and was also impressed with the sweet baby girl we met! She is the best greeter! They also had older pottery displayed in that room that was for sale. I got caught admiring a couple of orange and cream mugs and the woman who helped us happily found the price for me. Done! I bought the pair! I was still elated from exploring Starworks- and loved seeing the studio space through the windows!

The owner was great on the phone and said to put "Ether" in the GPS and it takes you right to the store. He has a great selection in the showroom and if you're looking for a particular piece, ask! He might have something but it's just not out yet. Well worth the stop!

This old school potter is retiring when he runs out of clay- which makes me extra happy I snagged two of his pieces! I picked out a little cup and a lidded jar. I love his handles! The jar had his curly q handle style. I was enamored with the lights though, truly I was trying to figure out where I could put one at my home. But- I just don't need one. He had both hanging light fixtures and nightstand lamps. I loved them both! Great prices and I was so happy to surprise him when I came back!

The work is delicate and intracate and fully functional which when it comes to art is considered by some to be the best kind of art. The glass ware is something to see....translucent colors and delicate shapes. Pots of all shapes and sizes using very traditional gazes I could have dropped a few thousand dollars in here with all the items I fell in love with, but in the end I didn't buy anything. But I will be back another day and then something...more like somethings are leaving with me.

Vases brightly glazed and with intricate cutouts. Funky art that is just plane fun! I was told by other visitors to allow myself time to adjust to all the bright colors- but for me it was to adjust to how much they have packed into the space! There was just so much to see!!! Carol greeted me once I came through the door and her excitement just fed my own excitement! Carol and her husband have been doing pottery for over 31 years and started their business in Florida, only to move to Seagrove and bring their unique art to the pottery community. The two mix their own clay- a secret recipe of their own that fires at a wildly unique temp! Cone 1- if you know- you know. Fascinating conversation! John saved me from having to pick a piece of art to take home by spotting a wall plaque with a kitty- in their signature bright glazes. She is already hanging just inside my front door! Her happy new home. I hope to save up for a larger piece of their art- because I was so impressed by it!!!

The anagama kiln and the new one being built out back are impressive. The studios for processing the local clay, throwing and glazing all had individual spaces in historic buildings. I fist loved the chime bowls hanging out front on the porch, the shelves outside full of the sons work. Inside I was stunned by beautiful artistry. I love trees and that was a continued theme in this shop. The soul bowls were lovely too- a concept beautifully brought to realization by the artist. The behind the scenes tour was just the icing. I bought 2 pieces and struggled immensely trying to choose. One carved tree wall plaque and one woodfired bottle with a tree carved in. Thank you for the meet and greet- and I might snag one of the bowl chimes on my next visit!
