This place was a short walk from my hotel, so I decided to head over for some matcha! Originally I thought I'd try one of their other teas, but ultimately ordered a strawberry matcha. Madelyn was very patient with me as I decided, and even mentioned the flavors that are puréed in house. Before finishing my matcha, she handed me a sample and asked if the sweetness was okay (very kind of her!). I would absolutely come back here on another visit to Denver.

FOOD Build your own Poke Bowl: Medium Salmon, cucumber, seaweed salad, red onion, Masago, cucumbers, nori crisps, spicy crab salad, furikake, onion crisps topped with House sauce, spicy Mayo, and sesame oil. The rice ratio was perfect and the poke was really good. Probably one of the top places I've been to in my life for poke. Rice to ratio portion also spot on. They are very generous with the portion sizes. Fresh ingredients and very good! VIBES Pretty casual place. There's no ramps for accessibility though which was a downside. There's tables and chairs for seating and a long bench for sitting. Pretty crowded place with limited seating but most people just grab and go. SERVICE Service was great! It's nice that there's a discount for medical professions and students. They also give you samples of the drinks to try.

Also ventured into Tea Cloud during the past week. It has been in the red sandstone Boston Building for more than 10 years, probably longer than most of the other boba shops in town. The street art decor was kind of audacious, but the overall ambience was modern and cozy. They could serve their boba drinks in cold brew, vegan, ice, blended or hot and also served a varieties of loose leaf teas. They used jasmine green for most of their one of the kinds boba teas mixed with fruits and flowers. For the more adventurous and creative, customers could also mix and match their own flavors. Before they prepared the drink, they would mix a sample for customers to taste whether the sweetness and flavor were as expected. They prepared their boba in house and cooked it to the desired texture and consistency, so the boba was well done, chewy and lightly sweet. Besides the drinks, they also served freshly prepare pokes. Ordered their Sunshine Paradise, which mixed jasmine green tea with whole milk, mango juice, peach juice and boba. The drink was well balanced between the flavors of the green tea and the juices, with a light tea and fruit aroma. Quite different from the taste of other boba drinks I was used to, but very refreshing. Yes, the boba was indeed chewy but not half done or sticky. Glad to have this specialty boba shop right at the Central Business District.

I'm upping this place to 5 stars because the more I come, the more I see how much they show that they care so much about their business and customers. They're experiencing some sort of family emergency but remain open and trying very hard to provide the best business to every individual customer. You may get a number when you're here, but rest assured, you're not just a number to them.

Food: I showed up for lunch one day during work. Ordered a "build your own" poke bowl. The fish and ingredients were fresh. You got to choose 4 toppings but apparently you can't have two crab toppings without being charged extra. The small pile bowl was pretty small -- a little too small for the price but really delicious. I also ordered a "peachtini" boba. Apparently it was a vegan option, which was fine for me but my biggest complaint was she asked if I wanted milk and I said sure just regular milk. She said no it's vegan so you need to choose one of the milk alternatives. I chose almond milk and then was charged $.75 or a dollar extra for it. I don't understand why it's specifically a vegan option but then I'm charged extra for the milk I need to choose. Didn't love that. They do you have a pretty cute interactive thing with the bobas where they make the drink and then give you a little taster sample so that you can request it to be sweeter or not. Also very very expensive. I know poke isn't cheap but woof - $27 for the boba and a tiny small poke. I will be back but probably not for the $8 boba.

I've been here a couple times now and their poke is so tasty! Fish seems fresh. Ingredients are refreshing. And just the right amount of flavor. The flavor is just enough to satisfy, but not enough to overpower your fish and other toppings. Love it! Generous portions as well! I recommend having their milk tea boba as well. They have a few really great options and they do a taste test before they mix the whole drink. So you can taste it. Make sure the tea is good for you. Make sure the sweetness is just right. And then they will complete your drink from there. Really unique. But makes sure it's right every time! Absolutely love this place. Very very nice staff. The owner (I'm assuming the owner, or manager) is so sweet. Her employees are amazing and very helpful. Love it. I am visiting Denver. But you can be sure every time I come back. I'll be trying to grab lunch here! Thank you for the good food!

Holy crap. I read a few reviews saying this is some of the best boba in Denver. I was immediately skeptical, especially after paying $10 to get Taro Milk Tea. That's INSANE!! But this really IS some of the best boba I've ever had. Made with condensed milk, there was a perfect amount of ice, and the boba itself was fresh. They gave me a sample before finishing the drink, which is a great way to make sure customers are happy. Service is great, and I would happily but brudgingly come back again for more.

I decided to explore downtown Denver and I came across this boba spot. I always want boba so I decided why not. The service is exceptional. It was two people but they are so personable and told me all their tea is in-house. James made my hi chew drink and let me taste it before I got it. He asked me if I wanted sweet or less but it was perfect. They don't use fructose and I could tell. To make it less sweet they would add more tea than diluting it with more milk like some other places. I love popping boba. They have lychee, mango, and strawberry. I didn't know which one and they put all three and it wasn't even a lot of boba but the right amount. I do plan on coming back tomorrow to try their food items. James said the bulgogi is really good. It's his grandma's recipe. Also, he recommended the salmon poke bowl. They import their fish from a really good place. I don't remember from where. I wished I was hungry to eat now.

Got a whole milk taro boba w/ black tea. Soo tasty just the way they made it, but they let me try it first anyway to make sure it was perfect! Service was very impressive and vibes were immaculate. Highly recommend.

As usual, I was looking for a good boba spot and saw that Tea Cloud also had a good food menu. I recently cut out seafood, so I was happy to see they had tofu as a vegetarian replacement in their poke bowls. You can build your own bowl, but I ordered their signature firm tofu bowl and a hot Jasmine Dream tea. They offer the option to sear the tofu for an extra dollar, and it's absolutely worth it! The bowl was loaded with protein and veggies. Not only was the food amazing, but the customer service was top-notch. James even gave me a sample of my tea to see if it was sweet enough (it was, but I never say no to more sugar). After ordering, they bring the food out to you when it's ready. Drinks can be picked up at the counter. Overall, great value and quality ingredients!

Happened to stumble on this place by chance as it was very close to the hotel I was staying at. We loved it so much we came two days in a row. The bubble tea is great and very high quality. Nothing is overly sweet or artificial tasting. The poke bowls are so fresh and everything is in a generous portion. What makes this place exceptional is the owner. Extremely kind, generous, and personable. Please do yourself a favor and stop by!

A really friendly and welcoming boba store! The place was clean and had few table seatings, also some seatings along the window. The service was wonderful from beginning to the end. We ordered various drinks. I was pleasantly surprised before they gave you the drinks they let you sample so you can adjust the sweetness. Overall, the drinks were nice, wished some flavours were stronger, but not a big deal. The owner even showed us new pot of boba cooking. Would love to try their poke next time.

So I really wanted to find some decent Boba and stumbled across this place. There's actually real Asians working there LOL so seems more legit to me haha. So I got like the tiger blood Boba or something like that. The flavors were great they said everything was vegan and they don't use the powdered stuff, which is amazing. The Boba balls themselves tasted pretty fire. Very soft and chewy. Up to California standards. The actual slush wasn't really slush. It kind of turned out just to be really liquidy. But they let you try it before they seal it up, which is clutch. They claim they do that in Hong Kong. Which is cool. I love love love all the art work in there omg. Hector the artist? Is that his name? Omg so freaking cool. They would make great tattoo pieces! I'd love to go back and try their poke. Was too full at the time but love the place. read more

Ever since I moved back East, I've been missing boba, and coming Denver for a conference was an awesome chance to try all the boba I'd been dreaming about. I'm pretty sure I came here every day of my conference. The Boba Love the unique tea and topping options, including classic tapioca boba, popping boba and jellies. They have every kind of tea you want - I tried a milk tea with boba, and also a yummy passion fruit tea with lychee jelly and lychee popping boba. Service The service was really good. They're friendly, talk through all your options and even let you sample the tea before it's final to let you decide if it's to your liking. Ambiance Cute seating area with comfy pillows. The counter is colorful and lots of light. Final Verdict My favorite boba place in Denver. Loved the boba/jelly options and yummy teas. read more

This cafe belongs in a movie requiring a cool and distant yet cozy atmosphere. It's such a treat to come in from the cold of Denver and take a seat at the window seating while contemplating your tea of choice, which for me will always be "With Love from Hokkaido". I actually miss Hokkaido and this somehow soothes a sore wound in my heart. The last time I stopped in, a friend was suffering from some stomach trouble and they gave him a drink not on the menu to help. I feel like there are depths to this place that are betrayed by the small infrastructure of the cafe! Wonderful staff, art, and drinks to match make this a standout from the humdrum of typical modern cafes. Give it a try :) read more

This spot is off the chart fantastic! The service from the first hello was some of the best I have ever received (and I write books and speak about this stuff!) We were blown away by the attention to detail and friendliness! The guy who waited on us came over and asked if we wanted to him to walk our dog while we ate! Wow! Turns out, he was the owner! I gave him a copy of A Company of Owners and The The Sink: Radical Transformation with One Small Change telling him he exemplified both books. The poke salad bowl I had with shrimp, spicy crab salad and a bunch of veggies was fresh and delicious! My wife raves about her spicy tuna bowl! read more

Not enough people talk about this place! It's weird to think there is a boba shop downtown. It's even a little weirder that it's not street level and you have to go down a flight of stairs, but don't be fooled! It's actually pretty good! The staff is so friendly and they do everything they can to make sure you are happy and are welcomed. I got their boba that's been aged 24hrs. Sounded fancy so I figured why not? Apparently it runs out quiet frequently which means it must be good. They took customer service to the next level. They offered me to taste the tea so I can accurately make adjustments to it. It ended up perfect. Just how I like it. Sweet, but not too sweet. The boba was perfectly chewy as well. I was pleasantly shocked! The poke is great as well. My only issue is they only let you pick 4 toppings instead of unlimited. But toppings are different from crunch. Little nit picky, because the poke itself was great. Menu is a bit different than other tea places, it seems more focused on unique mixes and the tea itself. Great for a tea afficianado but might be a bit less appealing if you're just looking for a standard boba and hang out spot. Luckily it was pretty empty when we stopped by, so we were able to ask lots of questions about flavors and get something we were excited about. We even got a taster to make sure we were happy with the exact flavor choices/tweaks. It was fantastic service and with an in incredibly knowledgeable/friendly server. Our tea was very flavorful and not too sweet, with boba that was well cooked. The cost was a bit higher than some other shops, but it seems like you're paying for the specialty flavors so that makes sense. Would recommend if you're okay with a higher price point and want lots of interesting options! read more

The order taker was super friendly and explained all the flavors and options very well. All of our drinks were delicious! Coffee, coconut and sunshine paradise all with different milks and teas. It didn't matter. And they don't do powder milk (coconut, almond or oat). Also let us taste test all our drinks if we wanted it more or less sweet. Definitely worth a try! read more

Easily the best Boba in Denver. I've been drinking Boba for the last 17 years, and I've tried it all over the world. This shop knows how to get the fundamentals right. They have delicious ingredients, they make it carefully for each customer and let you taste it and customize it before they mix it all together. It's classic bubble tea: real tea, no fake powdered flavors, and the Boba is delicious, just the right texture. They do it great hot, cold, or frozen. In addition, the poke they sell is fresh and delicious, though I haven't had it as often. I found the prices to be very reasonable and comparable to what you pay at other places, but for much much better quality. The wait can be a couple minutes because the drinks are made individually by the owner, but it's worth waiting for. The interior is also quite slick, and worth a trip just to check out the art. James, the owner, did a great job renovating the shop, and is always fun to interact with. Overall, it's just a great place to visit for some delicious Boba. read more

A little on the expensive side ($17 for a medium bowl) but the poke bowls are FRESH. I've never been to a poke bow joint where you get legit fresh mango, or super fresh sides in general. Also, the owner was incredibly nice about the cashiers mistake and ran me over fresh salmon at no charge when they rang up tuna by accident. Nice business. read more

I ordered a plain iced green tea and it was $8. It was absolutely wild given i've paid less for a similar drink with milk and boba and i live in the bay area. the tea was not great, and they got my order wrong. the place smelled overwhelmingly like clorox. overall not a great experience. read more

I had a chance to meet the owner as he greeted me with the friendliest warm heart. The owner purchased the business 8 months ago and his main goal is to deliver the best hand brewed tea in its most authentic form to his customer base. James, the owner, is passionate about bringing authentic culture shine thru in the product. I tried the jasmine dream boba. He brews the Jasmine tea for 20 hours before mixing it with coconut milk. The result is one of the best jasmine tea I've had in my life. So fragrant and delicate. The owner even has you do a taste as he prepares your drink. Give this place a serious look, you won't be disappointed. The owner really works hard to bring the most authentic experience and treats you like family. read more

We're on a mission to find bubble tea in Denver/Boulder. Cute store design. Lacks seating but there is a cute Japanese style window seat. This review is only on bubble tea, not ice teas which I'd guess are wonderful here. Lots of powder flavors for boba tea but you can also choose from any of the loose leaf teas. Toppings include boba, rainbow or coffee jellies, taro or egg pudding. The boyfriend tried jasmine tea with egg pudding and boba. I opted rose green tea with coffee jellies, extra sweet. Neither was sweet at all and watery flavored. Boba was hard and pudding lacked flavor. I enjoyed my choice but it tasted more like a refreshing iced tea. Coffee jelly was tasty. We wanted to love this shop but it didn't deliver on bubble tea despite the cute shop and nice staff. read more

No more boba for the day and it's 11 am? Did I mention I tried to get boba here yesterday and they were out then too? I settled the first day for a drink with jellies and it was decent, though it was a little strange not getting the traditional boba lid you burst through with the straw. Straws also were not individually wrapped, whatever I guess, though not as hygienic. Atmosphere was lacking as well. The tea wall with samples to smell and look at was a great idea, but the whole place is dim and there was hardly any seating. It was strange. Also strange was the menu. I like the freshly brewed tea options but it was by far the most confusing boba tea menu I've ever seen. Employees could care more. The one on the second day was trashing the woman who made our drinks the day before. Get it together and this place could be way more successful. I want to drop money on boba but not if it sucks this hard. read more

Today, on a random run -- I stopped in craving for a Boba and got an experience. Chippy James greeted myself and another customer with a radiant smile. His energy high and eager to either whip up something or go old skool. He made me something traditional and yet not on the menu: lemon/honey Boba drink. The drink itself very refreshing. Place is clean (James just renovated) and pricing is very good. If you are in the area -- stop in and say Hello to James. He will definitely work with you and make sure you leave there happy. Hipsty setting. Like the designs. Great customer service. They will ask you to try the drinks til you like the sweetness. We had thai tea and vanilla green tea. Alert - The boba is not sweet at all. I am used to the sweet boba (boba with mix of sugar & honey) Recommended if you like to customize your drinks. read more

Will possibly edit review upon subsequent visits. A nice tea shop. Seems they use real teas as opposed to powders like some other boba places, which i definitely approve of. My visit here was pretty quick so i dont have much to add but i wasnt disappointed. The guy that works here (didn't catch his name) seems pretty knowledgeable about tea which seems to be a good sign. Ill probably be returning as a tea lover read more

Good place to stop for a treat. I like more of a sweeter boba flavor so I didn't enjoy the boba from here too much. I had pina colada which was great. Just wish boba was sweeter or I'd gotten pops instead. read more

Gabe facilitated an absolutely lovely medicinal citrus lavender tea complete with temperature considerations . Visiting from SoCal and this cute little shop was kitschy and fun. Comfortable and relaxing vibe, very inviting unlike other chain beverage locations nearby . A must see if your visiting the Denver area. read more

Only ordered a poke bowl. But he walked me through the menu & made complimentary suggestions based upon what I ordered. Ultimately ended up with a tuna poke bowl, and all the flavors married beautifully and tasted fresh. read more

Can only speak for the boba, not the poke (which I haven't tried). I'm sure there are MUCH better boba places in Denver than Tea Cloud. I paid $5 which is standard price for a large size at other places, but this business only had a singular size, so it was a bit pricey. I ordered a hot green tea based drink with almond milk (forgot what it's called, something something "Fall in Love" I think). Typically hot drinks would be much more flavorful as they wouldn't be diluted with ice, but this just tasted like sugar and water to me. The tea was not strong at all, and I was barely able to taste it. I couldn't even finish my drink because it got really gross. read more

I love this place so much! While I've been coming here with my girlfriend primarily for the boba (can't go wrong with the Thai Tea), James and his mom have been running an incredible shop that has an awesome selection of hot and cold drinks, and fresh poke. I really can't say enough about how friendly the service is at Tea Cloud. They really make me feel like family whenever I visit. James consistently goes out of his way to make sure the drinks are made right, from providing a sample tasting before sealing the cup, to letting us try his latest batch of black sugar boba. Tea Cloud is hands down the best spot for boba and poke in the Denver downtown area. It hangs right off the 16th Street Mall so is conveniently located for anyone visiting the Denver area. read more

I guess Denver isn't hip to good boba cause this place was awful. $6.50 which is INSANE, but I had a craving. Not on their menu, but I ordered a jasmine milk tea with boba. You get to choose what type of milk you want in it, which is different. I chose almond milk. I was also offered a tasting of it to see if the sweetness was to my liking. That was cool, but he never told us "thank you" or "have a nice day." Like I just spent my hard earned money on your overpriced drink. Now on to the drink - it was watery and the boba was too chewy for my liking. I sadly had to toss my drink after barely drinking half of it. Also, both entrances have stairs, which wasn't stroller friendly for us. They have a button that you can press for wheelchair assistance but I'm really curious as to how that works. Not ADA or stroller friendly. read more

I guess I should've read the reviews below before giving this place a try! However, since our hotel was right by and there weren't any other boba places downtown, we were desperate for some boba drinks. My bf and I both got the royal milk teas and I had mine with egg nog pudding. Being originally from California, I've never heard of egg pudding being called egg nog pudding before and when I asked the barrister if she had egg pudding, she had no idea what that is. That should've been a sign! The teas were really watered down and weren't nearly as close as any milk teas you regularly drink. Maybe if you come in with the expectation that it's not a boba store, you will prob enjoy it more. read more

The staff was so knowledgeable and knew about which boba flavors were popular in different countries and they give you a taste of the drink you got so you can change sweetness level before you get your drink. Definitely recommend, it was also so so good! read more

I totally jinxed myself on this one. I was speaking so well of Denver and how all my reviews have been really positive during our trip. I'm a boba addict and love trying different shops when traveling, just to see how they compare to what we're spoiled with in California. Tea Cloud was our last stop in Denver and sad to say, it was the worst. The girl who rang us up was nice, but watching her prepare our drink was not the best scene. From this, I can see why so many reviewers have negative feedback on the boba. I ordered an iced jasmine green tea with boba, but asked her to halt the boba after watching her use her bare hands to pull old hard boba from one container transferring it to another. She then rinsed the boba and/or added tap water to it and went to the back to microwave it. A couple minutes past by and she continues to gossip with her coworker. We were the only ones in the shop and was wondering what can possibly take so long. She finally makes our drink and we received an iced jasmine MILK tea, which isn't what I ordered. Being a JMT lover, I said whatevs and left the shop. The first sip tasted like water, I mean extremely diluted milk with an aftertaste of tea. I continued to drink it and it started to taste somewhat better- bland, but tea flavor was kicking in. If you're looking for boba tea, I recommend coming to California. Okay, maybe that's extreme, but you get it, stay away from here! read more

Everything and everyone here is amazing! The best poke bowl I've ever had; super fresh and flavorful. The boba is made from scratch so no high fructose corn syrup & delicious! They let you customize it and even give you a taste to see if you want it more or less sweet before sealing it! If you are hungry go for the large bowl with 3 proteins, 2 was perfect for me. Will be back every chance I get. read more

I love the decor in this place. Very cozy. The menu is a little confusing for the boba tea. But the employee was very good at explaining all the options. I got the Thai iced milk tea w boba. The best part is they can customize your sugar content at the end, by adding small amounts until you are content. The boba was not as chewy as I'd like, but the tea is definitely quality. read more

This is the best Poke I have had in a while! The service was a little slow, but still overall quite good. They had me try my tea before they gave it to me, which seems like a basic service when you think about it, but is done very rarely. The person who made my poke bowl carefully crafted the it. The food is genuine, the salmon is in chunks, not some mashed blob. The flavors are great and my spicy salmon bowl was actually somewhat spicy, noticeable, but not enough to light my mouth on fire. This is largely an overlooked place, probably because of its location, but it is a small, local business that deserves a chance! read more

I'm a boba fiend. Denver is starting to get a bigger boba scene and I'm trying to find my favorite place, especially one in Downtown. This is not it. First off the price: if the drink is going to be 6.50 it better be bomb. Nope. First off, boba is not good, texture wise and sweetness-(or lack there of)-wise. Before they finish your drink they let you taste it, which is an idea with good intent... but there's a reason why no food-service place does a try-before-it's-finished thing... Your product is gonna take longer and be inconsistent. Imagine if steak houses brought you a cube of your steak and asked you if it was cooked to your liking...lol. Just serve the guest. Also the menu is very limited. Lastly the packaging: very plain and barely held together. I haven't tried the poke, I came for tea and am rating it based on the tea because the place is called TeaCloud. I've tried three drinks and every time I wasted my money. Pho restaurants have better boba for 3.50. read more

Thank you so much Mari L! I took over the store on May 10th of this year I hope I am currently in contact with yelp to claim it. I hope I can increase customer satisfaction and help each person leave with a smile on their face! After a lengthy read of all the previous reviews, I learned a lot about what can be improved for starters I added seating and restocked on all the teas that were out of stock I do apologize to the people who thought the teas were watery before I took over. I am working on the quality of the tea/boba. I just finished renovating the place so come by and say hello! read more

Went there with me little brother and apparently he hasn't hit the rebellious part of being a teenager, because he opted for the soda fountain. To his dismay, it was broke. Luckily for him, the staff went out of their way to make sure he got a boba to be proud of. I watched from the sidelines as they iterated with samples until it was to his liking. While we sipped, I enjoyed the interesting street art adorning the halls. I love stickers. read more

Might I say: this was the best boba experience we've ever had they knew each menu item like the back of their hand, giving us background on the taste and origins of the teas. They made sure we liked the boba by giving us a sample and letting us adjust the sweetness level I'd like to add that the 2 guys that served us were the absolute sweetest I would recommend tea cloud to anyone who's visiting (like us) or in the area! read more
