We were tired of the…read moreendless "nickle & dime" fees so common with the large banks, and sought relief with a Credit Union. Everything was great, at first. But they slowly started to add these same fees, and after changing their name to Jovia became downright unrecognizable. The last straw was trying to deposit a government check which was made out to both myself and my wife. However, the account for some reason only had my name on it. They refused to allow the deposit. Without going into myriad details, suffice to say that in the past 2 years there have been several other incidents where the tellers were less than helpful. I've been banking for more than a few decades and understand the banking industry has rules, but the commercial banks seem to employ a more common sense approach to their customers. The great customer service we had enjoyed at NEFCU is a thing of the past at Jovia. We've gone back to the large, national commercial bank. They simply treat us with more respect.

Working with him and his associates, Sandra, Vicky and Tracey, have been amazing. From the beginning, they were very accessible, always responded promptly, answered all my crazy questions and never made me feel like a bother. The whole process was simple and flawless. If they needed something from me, I received a phone call. I'd give them what they needed and we moved on. Any info I needed was emailed or they called immediately to keep me posted. I never felt left in the dark. It went so smoothly that we actually closed way faster than anticipated. Having that great experience, I knew I'd be using Lorne again for our new home purchase. This time I was a-little less 'in the know' of how the home-buying process worked and didn't know how to start. I text Lorne one morning at,no joke, 6am. To my surprise, he called me back immediately and stayed on the phone with me to describe my first steps and told me he was there for me no matter the time or day. I thought he was kidding but he's proved to have done that for me time and time again. There have been so many times that I've txt him a question and he'd call me immediately back to respond. Great communication skills by all on board. I also bothered his team mannnyyy a time for new preapproval letters and they never batted an eye. They always got it to me within 1hr. One of the times it was a Saturday and clearly not a work day so I had to txt Lorne and ask him for help. He took time out of his day to get me what I needed. We are currently in our closing process and, as expected, this process is also seamless. Every once in awhile his associates reach out to me asking for items. I send them right away, and they keep me posted. If you give them what they need/ask for and are a prepared client, your process will be smooth. Remember, they have to ask for paperwork every few weeks to make sure your personal accounts are in order. It's part of the process to ensure all goes well and was no hassle or bother. Actually, the quicker you can produce them, the faster the process goes for you. They are also very sweet. They always answer any and all of my questions, always keep me in the loop, and even chat with me about regular things. They also remembered me from my refinance so it was pleasant to work with the same crew who knew your needs. Once again, we will be closing well ahead of normal schedules! I went in to open new business accounts and was assisted by Kenny. He was incredibly informative, accommodating, and kind. He had a great personality and we had a great conversation. Shortly after, I met the branch manager, Jamie, who had such wonderful energy. She was incredibly sweet, had an awesome smile, and radiated good energy, which I really appreciated. She took the time to show interest in my businesses and chat with me for a bit. Kenny and Jamie were rockstars. A hulking looking machine sitting just to tbe right of the humanoids will feed an account holder with up to three thousand dollars with no humanoid interaction. The machine in the foyer doesn't even need to see your card (after the first time you dip) if you are an Apple Payer. What a great group of employees in this little satilite location, totally worth the visit.
