At the Fryeburg branch I've noticed they lack teller's at times and I've had to wait at the most more then two minutes to be helped. The Drive-Thru part is always easy to access and navigate wether it be the ATM or teller service. Great to stop by and deposit or withdraw money before going shopping in nearby North Conway.

You'll encounter great customer service here... but it's extremely lacking with phone customer…read moreservice whereas you can call and talk to two different people and get two different answers for the same question. It takes TWO WEEKS to get a debit card from this place, even though you will be told it takes 5-7 business days. And when you call back because you still haven't received it they then tell you it actually takes 10 days and they have no way of knowing if your card was even sent out. For one, the debit card this bank issues is the SAME card TD Bank issues... and they can issues it right there in the bank. So when you tell someone it takes 2 weeks to get a debit card mailed from FLORIDA you obviously could care less about your customers and being convenient. Whereas it DOES NOT take 2 weeks for mail to come from FLORIDA to NH. And if there's a bank that offers you same debit card any day you walk into their bank why not switch banks?!??!!? People put money in a bank for convenience... you obviously are not convenient nor do you train your employees all the same rules. Because one tells me 5-7 business days and another tells people 10 days.

The bank cleared my grocery store trip before my deposit, incurring another overdraft fee. By the time I paid that, my account had been negative for over 3 business days. ANOTHER fee. (Potentially reasonable, even at this point.) Following this, FEE. FEE. FEE. Sunk $200+ dollars trying to fix this! Lady at the bank incredibly unhelpful. Account can't be closed while in the negative. Fees keep piling on, no more money to fix. Account holder for 4+ years, no respect at all. DO NOT USE THIS BANK, THEY WILL SUCK YOU DRY AND WON'T CARE AT ALL.

I was forced to open an escrow account, due to the slumlord factor in this area, when I…read morewent to close the account only a couple of months after I opened it, they took a huge " maintenance fee" out! I'm sure there was no maintenance done to my account and every time I put money in the account they somehow had my address wrong! They kept reverting to a 4 year old address that I had with a TD checking account, which they closed when I broke my knee and explained to them I was having a rough time and had no money to deposit! They closed it anyway. Each time the tellers gush superfreindly until you actually need something-- they they snap at you and do basically nothing in the way of customer service. You will have a bad experience, all the branches are run the same.

We moved on to another bank where we were treated very nice. I came into a ton of money, and needed to open two more bank accounts with other banks. Now I need a forth bank account. I like to stay local, but I will not have any part of Northway Bank, so my money will go to another bank. Their lost, because I'm talking 200,000 bucks or more to just sit in cds.

My primary bank's funds hadn't cleared yet, so I attempted to use my HELOC at this bank--something that should have been straightforward. When I arrived and explained the urgency of the situation, I was told I'd need to wait because it was lunch time. I emphasized the importance and time-sensitivity of the transaction, but was still asked if I could return in two hours, after lunch. After some insistence, the teller reluctantly agreed to help, only for us to discover I might also need to open a checking account just to complete the wire. At that point, I was too agitated and disappointed to continue, and thankfully found another workaround on my own. What should have been a simple, professional banking service turned into an unnecessary ordeal. I walked away asking myself: Why is it so hard for this bank to help a customer complete a basic financial transaction, especially under time pressure? This experience has made it clear to me that Bank of New Hampshire is not equipped to handle customer needs with the urgency, flexibility, or professionalism required--especially in critical moments.
