However, next door they opened up a brand new Calforex to the right which is much more bigger and more discrete (you go inside the shop and not outside from the window mall). It looked freshly open and only around for 6months I believe.. not too sure as I don't often come to laval that often anymore. Had a meeting in Laval and decided to kill 2 birds with one stone type of thing. I know I went to the other location on peel off of st-catherine street and they claim they have the best rate which was nice to hear but who knows. Service was friendly and quick .. There was also not many people and was quite glad .. there was only one cashier.. so who knows if the service is consistent when there's more people? I can't say! Situated inside Galeries Laval mall, all you need to do is open up an account at any of their 6 branches and which takes a few minutes at the wicket, then you're good to go. What sets them apart is their rate guarantee buyback of half of your purchased amount. Say you bought $500 of any foreign currency there and didn't blow it all at your stay and which you don't want to keep after you're back home .... You can return up to $250 with your original receipt and get your CDN money back with the same exact rate you originally purchased for. If the rate had gone up, you won't lose, if down, they'll give the best rate of the day. Now I'm not a financial wizard or anything nor a business owner who buys foreign currencies on regular basis and who usually had done his homework of finding the best rates so really can't speak for everyone. This review is more for individuals who are in need for small amounts of currency which this place provides with good rates and much better convenient hours than the banks.
