Food had reasonably good flavour and the owners were nice. That said the food was openly microwaved from pots of cold food sitting nearby and presentation was 'slopped' on the plate. Have had great Afghan food before and this was far from it. Pretty disappointed. I certainly won't be going again. My guess is these wildly positive reviews are posted from the restaurant owner's friends and family. Or maybe in a smallish city like Freiburg it gets extra points for being 'exotic.'

The atmosphere was gorgeous--like stepping into a beautifully decorated ethnic Pinterest board. The service was friendly and on point (no disappearing servers playing hide and seek ). I ordered the Kabuli plaw, and honestly, it was so tasty I briefly considered proposing to it. Overall, I had a great time and highly recommend this place--though ironically, I also recommend making a reservation unless you enjoy bonding with strangers in the waiting area.
