I'm fearing the inner Karen of me coming out, but this place was full of rule breakers. Nipples…read morehanging all over the place through nearly non-existent shirts, gallon water jugs on top of machines, and bags scattered everywhere. This place doesn't appear to follow the Planet Fitness method of no intimidation. I didn't bother to say something because since I managed to avoid tripping on bags, I didn't hurt myself. But here I am writing a Yelp review. You guys need to get on your rules and enforce them please! This was at 11:30 on a Saturday morning. Other than that, clean space good machines and weights. Locker room was pretty disorganized with paper towels all over the ground. There is another level with a lot more cardio machines on it if that is what you were inclined to. Otherwise the space with all of the weights is pretty much coming across as a bro-only space. I would try another Planet Fitness if I were you.

I've started to come to the Rec center as part of my package through MU and it's overall a somewhat…read morefrustrating place to lift. The usual problems of lifting with a college population apply, but that's to be expected and not why I have a negative impression. I find the rules to be a deterrent for those trying to progress with respect to moving decent amounts of weight. Gym bags are not allowed, chalk isn't allowed, I've been reprimanded for "slamming" weight when I wasn't (400+ lb deadlifts inherently make noise when returned to the ground) and I've had multiple times where my workouts have been interrupted unnecessarily. I'm currently looking for a place where I can at least do my back workouts so that I can deadlift in peace as it has become untenable for me

They have a large space yet everything is orderly and neatly put away after each workout. No different weighted barbells mixed together in a barbell stand, or rowers strung out where ever, everything has a place! The quality of their gear is great! From the T-shirts to the jump ropes they have for use, great stuff! Did I mention super friendly? I explained I was there just for a few days but wanted to jump in on a few wods yet they showed me around and introduced me to everyone. Very inviting and wanted to make sure I was set up for success....not always the case for some boxes which seem to think there is little reason to care about someone who is only there for a few days. Finally, the word that comes to mind when I think of this box is quality! From the gear to the way they set up their space, to the effort they gave in trying to make me welcome. Just can't say enough of my experience there.
