Palmyra - Look at the size of this wrap. The slightly crispy outer layer is a nice contrast to the juicy, savory donner meat within

Chose this place because of the high rating and menu options shown in the pics. I really don't…read moreunderstand why it's rated so highly. They basically only have pizza and wraps (no menu like the one in the pic) I was expecting a hole in the wall with yummy food. It was indeed a hole in the wall, but the food thoroughly disappointing. I ordered the kofta kebab wrap and hummus wrap both with no tomatoes. One came with tomatoes. Though the wrap was 10" x 3" the kofta hiding inside it was about 7"x1"-the veggie to meat ratio was ridiculous. I guess that's what makes it a small? I did enjoy the sauce-creamy with a little spice. My friend did make the point of why she thought it was highly rated. Nearby a university, open late, cheap, and quick...even considering all of that it's still a no for me.

So the craving at the time was schwarma, and Palmyra had some pretty decent reviews. So off I moseyed in the hopes of getting a delicious meal. Not even 12pm yet, I was the only customer in the shop, nabbing a window seat so I could people watch during my lunch. My server was so friendly and the service overall was great. I ordered a chicken schwarma with chips. I was kind of hoping for traditional Turkish bread, but my meal came on the thinner pita-style bread that didn't exactly hit the spot, but was delicious all the same. The schwarma was large for £5.50 and my fries could have easily served two, the serving was massive. Also served with garlic sauce and a sweet type of chilli sauce. Overall a flavourful and filling meal that I would certainly have again. For about £8 this meal could have served two and easily satisfied two grumbling bellies.

The baba ghanoush was different and seems to be a deconstructed salad rather than what I've had elsewhere. The hummus was good. The grilled lamb and chicken kebab was quite small portions but very tasty. The bread was good. Overall not epic but a place I would not hesitate to return to.

I can't believe this place doesn't have a constant que to get in I placed my order for a mixed grill. I'm always a sucker for mixed sat down with images of kebabs and shawarma dancing in my head. I was settled in and ready to wait. The owner asked if I had been before and how I found the place. We chatted for a bit then he went to the kitchen and popped out with what he called a snack. To me it looked the size of a starter. Hummus, baba ghanouj, and something called a rabbi salad I think. They were all very good the entire time I was there everyone was very friendly and chatty much different that I usually get when I order take away On to the mixed grill I almost forgot I was waiting for food. The portion was insane easily enough for 2-3 people. There was lamb and chicken in various forms some ribs and kebabs and wings. All amazing the rice and bread were cooked perfect. Sadly I have to admit due to the large portion I didn't try the salad I had to prioritise what I shoved in my face. Perhaps I'll give that a go later after a burn off some calories I didn't look at much else on the menu but I did hear someone order a falafel wrap and it was only 3 pounds

One word - Amazing!!…read more We had received a menu through our door and the food sounded delicious so put it down on our "Places to try" list. We popped in one lunch time and ordered a Chicken Shwarma Wrap and a Lamb Kofta Wrap, they are the best wraps we have ever tried. The wrap is Lebanese bread, and is packed full of fresh, homemade deliciousness! The service is outstanding, you are made to feel so welcome while you wait as all the food is made to order. It really has a lovely friendly family atmosphere. We will definitely be going back.

It seems like this part of town is really seeing a boom in Middle Eastern and Persian foods, which I am a big fan of. I was only in Byblos for a few minutes as I picked up a delicious, traditional Lebanese style Chicken Chawarma wrap to go.The wrap was pretty darn good it has to be said, light with wonderfully spiced chicken, salad, potatoes, pickles and garlic sauce. As I waited I had a wee nosey at the food in the fridge and everything seemed delicious and fresh. The place itself looks really good, a big improvement on the former Deli Aziz, which seemed a bit busy and cluttered. Really looking forward to sitting in next time and getting a couple of things from the traditional looking menu.
