We stopped in during a walk down cockburn street. Great coffee and pastries. The service was also very friendly! The cakes were amazing!

Generous portion sizes but ultimately boring mediterranean food. Was good but nothing exceptional. Interior is cute and kitschy, great location. Kind and friendly staff. But still wish we had tried another place for breakfast this day.

This is definitely a "tourist must see" spot. The outside alone is photo worthy, with the pink building and flowers cascading. The inside also has super fun decor, though is small with only about 10 tables. They have more tables outside as well! Staff was very attentive and friendly, and wait times for clearing my check was minimal. I was able to get a table right away as I went shortly after opening. For breakfast I ordered the lucky charm latte, and the Oreo French toast. Both were incredible. The latte is fun with the luck charms sprinkled on top, but was also a great cup of coffee overall. The French toast was perfectly sweet, without being overly so, and I loved the fresh berries and berry compote alongside the Oreo dust.

Located in the heart of Cockburn St, this Instagram-worthy restaurant is perfectly pink and offers up brunch with a Mediterranean twist! We walked in and were seated right away. They have a fun menu and some fun sounding drinks as well. I just got an oat milk latte and my husband got their holy rose water. To eat I got their pink avocado toast made with beetroot, egg and avocado. I'd recommend this place for sure.

Ambience is absolutely adorable. The overhead lights are pink and there are many instagrammable spots of decor. Service is super friendly. I wanted to try everything on the menu for brunch. I was a little surprised though when a "regular" portion of waffle is half a waffle. It seemed like the value for the food was not there and I would have ordered the "large" had I known. Otherwise, everything was tasty and we had a nice time!

This adorable pink and perfectly instagrammable café is located in Edinburgh's old town. With its pink decor inside and out - you can't miss it! I'd been wanting to have brunch here for awhile and I was excited about their colorful drinks and foods that blend Mediterranean cuisine with the brunch classics. We made reservations well in advance in order to get a good spot. Note that reservations can be made online and are held for 15 minutes. Due to their immense popularity Laila's charges 10£ for no shows. We were there on a Sunday morning. It was somewhat busy and difficult to get the attention of the waitstaff. There are lots of savory and sweet options on the menu. I had the Ruby Buttermilk Waffles. Buttermilk chicken can be added for an additional cost. My waffles were delicious! My friend ordered the buttermilk chicken on its own, which came with fries. The fries did not seem to be homemade, but the chicken was both crisp and tender. 4/5 stars

Worth the visit, everything was delicious and the service was great! The food - We had the Ruby Buttermilk Waffles with buttermilk chicken and the buttermilk chicken pitta. The chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly! The service - Staff was friendly and attentive, the service was efficient we didn't have to wait a long time to get our food. The venue - looks modern, as if made for taking pictures, really nice place.

The ambience is fantastic. It's fun, bright, Parisian, instagrammable. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was presented very well with little xtras like doilies. The food itself was cooked well. Good presentation, fresh, and flavorful. Prices were fair in line with quality. There are 2 locations in town.

This place is exactly what it's trying to be - Instagrammable. But honestly, for has hard as it was to get a reservation, the food was subpar at best. I got the chicken and waffles and it was barely warm, the chicken was not edible and the place was kind of tacky. If you really want the pink "Instagram" aesthetic it could be fun for a group of girls, but not worth it for the subpar meal.

I saw a picture of the outside of Laila's in an Edinburgh travel group. I had to look it up myself because it looked so cute. Their menu online was amazing so I put this at the top of my list to go to when we arrived in Edinburgh. It's at the bar very high for the rest of our dining experiences. First off I want to say the place could not be any cuter inside and out. The decor was so amazing. I was taking pictures of the wallpaper. The staff was just as amazing. Very sweet and enjoyed talking with them. Their menu was so hard to decide on just one thing. Somehow we were able to only order one thing each. I had the fancy coffee with gold on top. It was so yummy and decadent. I think my husband's was called unicorn coffee? It was blue and had marshmallows on it. It was beautiful but very sweet. What do you expect when you order unicorn coffee? Speaking of sweet I ordered the pancakes with candy floss on top. I don't necessarily like pancakes or candy floss lol, but it was so intriguing. I had to order it. And it was actually so good. I ate it all as well! My husband had beet hummus with eggs and avocado. All of it was amazing. It had Lindenberry as well as pomegranate on it. It was fancy filling and delicious. I cannot wait to come back to this place.

What used to be called Hanam's is now Daika; same menu, same offerings, I don't know if they've changed ownership. We ordered: -- Mixed Grill (£24.95): three meat skewers that he said were middling. -- Halloumi Fries (£9.85): usually my favorite thing on a Mediterranean menu, but theirs was a bit tough, took chewy to the next level, & the pomegranate molasses did nothing to improve the flavor. -- Babaghanoush (£9.80): nice texture with the eggplant bits, properly smoky, & went well with the pita that stayed warm in its parchment bag. -- we also had lemonade in a bottle that was tart & refreshing. Rather than having lunch at Daika, we instead should have ordered a hookah; smoking shisha on their beautiful terrace with a view of Old Town around us would've been more enjoyable.

It was actually excellent and I would give that dish five stars. The Falafel was a bit dry. The grilled prawns were served with the shell on so they had to be peeled which was a bit messy. I usually don't expect to peel my prawns at the dinner table. The meats on the mixed grill were average. The minced meat kabob was the most flavorful. The others were a bit overcooked. Also, they may have been a bit understaffed but they generally did not clear any dishes when we were finished with them unless we asked them to.

Though the wrap was 10" x 3" the kofta hiding inside it was about 7"x1"-the veggie to meat ratio was ridiculous. I guess that's what makes it a small? I ordered a chicken schwarma with chips. I was kind of hoping for traditional Turkish bread, but my meal came on the thinner pita-style bread that didn't exactly hit the spot, but was delicious all the same. The schwarma was large for £5.50 and my fries could have easily served two, the serving was massive. Also served with garlic sauce and a sweet type of chilli sauce. Overall a flavourful and filling meal that I would certainly have again. For about £8 this meal could have served two and easily satisfied two grumbling bellies.

Seemingly to ensure absolutely -no- confusion on the point of whether or not we were buddies, he referred to me no fewer than half a dozen times as 'my friend' during the ten minutes I spent in the shop. Not bad for never having exchanged names, right? After a brief perusal of the menu board, I opted for a basic donner kebab. Reportedly, they also serve up everything from burgers and chips to pizza to curries. Quite versatile, considering the wee footprint of this takeaway. With my meaty bounty (which barely fit in the styrofoam container!) in tow, I returned to my hotel room to stuff my face before passing out, as one does after four drams of whisky in one night. Though I can't rave much about the meat (it ran a bit on the dry side), Pasha certainly isn't stingy with portions. Even though my last meal was nearly twelve hours prior, I was still only able to get down about half my kebab before raising my white flag in surrender. The combination of freshly toasted pita topped with shaved lamb (presumably) and topped off with salad, a lone wedge of tomato, and a heavy dousing of white sauce left me feeling satisfied and sleepy.
