They've definitely gone down hill within the last 2 years or so. I've gotten loads of platys from…read morethem. Sometimes I am in need of a restock but refuse to buy from them at all. Some tanks definitely seem diseased and not cleared of deceased fish . I've seen fish act a bit erratic and ill. But their products have a wide variety and when the tanks seem okay, they have a really nice stock of fish and always seem to have what I need. Salt water tanks seem pretty great, plants have always been clean and safe of traveling snails. I still come here quite a lot. I enjoy it!

Finally did a water test strip on brand new water that I purchased from the fish room that day and noticed that the pH was fine but the alkalinity is very very low. Water was also on the hard side. And chlorine was questionable. And yes, the water strips that I purchased and were new and purchased from a reputable company. Is the Fish Room testing their own water system before selling to customers??????

During the move, they noticed my plumbing setup wasn't ideal and completely redid it, which has been a huge improvement. Unfortunately, I did lose three fish during the move, but they stood behind their work and gave me a livestock credit without any hassle. That level of customer service says a lot. Their prices seem to be right in line with other local fish stores. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that right before they relocated, I purchased a few replacement fish and lost two of them within a week while they were in my quarantine tank. To be fair, losses can happen with any fish store, and that's just part of the reefing hobby. What has always stood out to me is how informative, honest, and courteous the staff is. They're willing to answer questions, offer advice, and genuinely help hobbyists succeed. I haven't had a chance to visit their new location yet, but I definitely plan to soon. Overall, I'd recommend Triad aquatic Critters to anyone in the reefing community looking for knowledgeable service and a store that stands behind its customers.

I've been Reefing for 20+ years. It's always best to put your eyes on a fish or coral. It's rolling the dice when you get It off the net. Even if it survives their is a ton repeat ...a ton of variation between species. Staff is very friendly and very helpful.

He said I should have noticed it was fresh water so I told him I bought it for my fish to drink not me. He took no responsibilty over a mistake that would have cost me my fish. Of course I noticed something wrong after a few hours of the water not clearing up but how dare he blame the customer for his staff's actions. I went in for salt water and thought that's what I was given. Never again his knowledge isn't what you get from his staff
