Taylor was great to work with. We planned to relocate to the Bay Area and reached out to him prior to even listing our home in Phoenix - he listened to our needs and and set up a portal for us to look at listings almost immediately. He spent time showing us homes on the market while visiting town prior to making the move. Once we made the move and had an accepted offer he walked us through the process, step-by-step and worked closely with our lender to get title closed incredibly quick! read more

Taylor Sublett - Compass - House purchased with Taylor's help - Real Estate Agents Near Me - Oakland, California

Taylor was great. He helped me so much. While I was off sailing across the Atlantic, he managed the work crews repairing and painting the house and getting the floors varnished so the place looked great. The staging was beautiful. His style was easy going and we got a solid price for the place in the end. It sold quickly and did not require a lot from me. Overall a great experience. read more

Taylor is excellent. He represented me recently in the sale of my condo apartment in Oakland. He knows the market,is totally trustworthy and reliable; he is efficient and gets to know you quickly and represents you honestly in the seller's market, and I am sure he does the same in buyers' market. He welcomes your input and is a true partner. He will answer all of your questions; and allay your anxieties during the entire process. He also goes way beyond by sharing his knowledge about packing, moving, etc. I cannot recommend him highly enough. read more

Taylor is such a great agent. He gave us the tools and insights that we needed to make an informed decision on the properties that we made offers on. We never felt pressured and, in one instance, he was able to write us a last minute offer when we wanted him to. In a competitive market like the bay area, where properties go pending after two weekends, Taylor made himself available for showings and gave us his insights that we missed during the open house. Even now, after closing, he makes himself available for any questions that we may have. Truly top-notch client service. read more

Taylor is an enthusiastic professional. He helped us both buy and sell our houses in a short amount of time, through a variety of difficulties. He managed both processes masterfully, catching details along the way. Most importantly, he was appropriately aggressive and proactive when needed. read more

I worked with Taylor on my very first home purchase this year. Right out of the gate, Taylor was great at managing my expectations, which is incredibly helpful for someone like myself who hates not having control. The thing I loved most about working with Taylor was that he was always open to spend time looking at multiple houses in a row so that I could get the sense of what I was looking for. The housing market during COVID was particularly stressful, and a after getting my butt kicked in an offer early this year I decided to pause my search. Taylor was super understanding of my need to take a break and was still helpful in tailoring my automated reports so I could keep my finger on the pulse while I built the courage to try again. We ended up stumbling upon a place where the stars must've aligned perfectly for me to get. He was right - sometimes it's just so random. Anyways, now I'm a homeowner about 2 months late in writing this review because - spoiler alert - Taylor was right again in telling me just how busy I'd be for the first several months in the house. I appreciate Taylor's even temperament and candid feedback; I don't think anything shakes him. He's super flexible and gives you all the information you ask for in a timely manner. I would 110% work with Taylor again or refer a friend to him. read more

I have nothing but good things to say about Taylor Sublett. As a first time homebuyer, I was incredibly nervous and overwhelmed by the enormity of finding and buying a house. Taylor took the time to discuss what I was looking for, what budget I could operate in, what timeline I was operating on, and how best he could help me (providing guidance, access to resources, finding places that fit what I was looking for, etc). He provided tools and advice for reviewing homes on the market. The advice of what to look out for, what language to parse through, what tell tale signs that could signify a place was good or bad was invaluable. He was incredibly patient and did not try to rush me into a home. He made sure I was selecting a place for the right reasons and made sure I understood what the HOAs and Disclosure documents were saying. During the actual process of putting in an offer and actually buying, Taylor made sure I knew what the next steps were, what would be required of me, and what options I had at each step. Taylor was there for me every step of the way. He was willing to come out and visit houses with me, he was willing to field all the questions I had (even the ones I worried were a little stupid), and he was willing to wait until I found the perfect place. 10 out of 10 Recommend read more

Taylor was an AWESOME partner to buying our first home - knowledgeable, patient, available, and never pressured us. I had the pleasure of working with Taylor Sublett from Compass to sell my rental home in Oakland, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. Throughout the entire process, communication was prompt, clear, and professional. The house needed sprucing up, so Taylor quickly connected me with his painter/contractor team who did a fantastic job.  The home sold fast and above asking!  Thanks again, Taylor! read more

Taylor was our Bay-area realtor for nearly 4 months. He taught me everything I know about California real estate -- and he did it with extreme patience, good humor, and a depth of experience that I can't imagine many other realtors have in the area. We ended up buying a home in Los Angeles due to factors beyond Taylor's control, but we will always remember our time with him. The reviews say what needed to be said: Taylor is your go-to Bay-area realtor, just shoot him an email and get started! read more

My wife and I just finished working with Taylor on purchasing our first home. As first time home buyers we had a ton of questions and anxiety - Taylor was there every step of the way to help guide us in the right direction. Throughout the process, there were things that went wrong and changes that need to be made, but Taylor handled them all professionally, punctually, and with a smile on his face. He made himself available at almost any hour to answer questions, big or small, and made us feel like his only clients. Taylor was a joy to work with and we couldn't recommend him more! read more

Taylor was amazing to work with. As a first-time homebuyer I was really unsure and nervous about what to expect. He clearly explained all aspects of the process to me and put me at ease. Over the course of about six weeks we looked at dozens of houses. He was so good about getting showings scheduled in a timely fashion and I was able to see every single house I wanted to see. I often felt bad dragging him around to every corner of the East Bay but he was always happy to do it and had a great attitude throughout. His orientation was always about helping me find the house that was right for me. His communication was stellar. His response turnarounds were within hours if not minutes.  When we were putting in offers he was great about getting comps together and helping me think through what we wanted to offer. Once my offer was accepted he really helped move the process along without making me feel rushed or forcing decisions on me. He attended all the inspections and made sure I knew what questions I needed to ask. He helped me understand the inspection reports. He was great at giving me guidance through the contract negotiation period. He was a sympathetic ear when I needed to vent about the appraisal or the seller, but he was also always solutions oriented. I really only have great things to say about my experience with Taylor. He was a pleasure to work with in all aspects. I could not recommend him more highly. read more

Thanks again Taylor for helping us get our first home! Taylor was an absolute pleasure to work with, always making himself available for us and answering any and every question we had for him. He helped navigate us through the scary process of buying a home in the Bay Area. His sense of humor and sociability took off any of the anxiety we might've had when it came to house viewings and putting down offers. And we appreciated how low pressure he was when it came to us dealing with the downs of our offers not getting accepted. read more

Taylor is seriously the best. I don't even think this review will do him justice. My husband and I got serious about looking for a home when our son began outgrowing our apartment in San Francisco. Oh we loved that apartment, but there were like 48 stairs (my dad counted) and it was just dangerous. We decided that we wanted to look for a place in Oakland because we still wanted the urban feel, but with more privacy and quiet (we were living above a lady who made crazy noise 24/7, and smoked, and was the worst human on earth and was part of the reason we needed to get out). We were referred to Taylor by one of my husband's coworkers and so we went to meet him at his office. He was super patient (especially with a fussy baby in the room) and went through everything that we were looking for in a home. He told us his opinions, but in the end made us feel like we were a team and that he was going to do what was best for us and our family. I could tell right off the bat that I liked him. Taylor signed us up for notifications on listings and checked in on us. He was not overbearing or neglectful, it was the perfect median. It was enough to let us knew he was there if we needed him, which is definitely my style. He was also super responsive when we had questions or were interested in a listing. He also would send us a note if he saw something that he thought we would be interested in. He made it a point to research potential properties and meet us to look at ones we were interested in. After looking in Oakland/Berkeley/general East Bay for a bit we decided to take a break. We were being VERY wishy washy on what we wanted and we still had another 5 months left on our rental unit so I told Taylor that we were going to take a little break. He was not irritated one bit and was super supportive and didn't make us feel bad about changing our minds. He even sent us a note to see where we were at. He NEVER pressured us once to keep on looking or get invested in something we weren't thrilled about. In fact, he encouraged us to get our feelers out there and look at everything. After all that uncertainty we decided that we wanted to move to Marin. We felt bad about changing our minds again, but Taylor was not annoyed in the slightest. I saw a listing and went to go see the open house and loved it. I told Taylor and right away he set up to go and view the house with us. Though Marin isn't his main area, he did all his research, informed us on his thoughts about the property and helped us come up with a competitive, clean, offer and we got it! Taylor was with us throughout the whole home buying process, calling the listing agents, lenders, and advocating for us during inspections and all the other intricacies that come with buying a home. He really made us feel like we were his only clients. He even came to help us sign the escrow papers and offer explanations on everything that we were signing (we're first time homebuyers). After the whole process, he has still called to check to make sure everything is going well. Taylor is not just in it for the sale. He really cares about his clients and what's in their best interest. He is extremely knowledgeable, trustworthy and professional (he's also a fun guy to be around). We definitely consider him a friend and will use him for all of our future real estate needs. read more

I don't think we would have made it through the entire home-buying process with our sanity intact without Taylor. His knowledge of Oakland trends and all of the myriad details one needs to consider when buying a home is impressive. He had thorough and comprehensive answers for all of our questions and he helped us cut through a lot of information to determine what we really wanted to find in our home. He also has relationships with many professionals in the area and has made solid recommendations to us as we work to get our home updated and improved. Taylor is highly professional and makes touring houses and slogging through all of the paperwork and red tape of real estate fun and effortless. I highly recommend him to anybody looking to buy or sell a home in the East Bay! read more

Taylor was referred to me by some good friends to help me buy my first home. Simply put, he was great. We spent quite a bit of time looking at properties and he was always patient, even when I was indecisive or took a few months off. He was quite helpful in providing knowledge and perspective on the homes we saw. But most important to me, he was readily available, even during off hours, when I had questions or ideas to explore. I really enjoyed working with him and definitely recommend him! Thank you, Taylor! read more

I met Taylor at a street fair in Temescal and am so glad I chose him as my real estate agent. Coming from New York and being a first-time homeowner, I knew very little about buying a home, particularly in Oakland, and what that entailed. Taylor was very professional, always available to answer questions or show me a place, extremely responsive and accessible, and clearly knew what he was doing throughout the whole process. He helped me make an offer I was comfortable with, never pressuring me in one direction or another. He is extremely knowledgeable about the market and the entire real estate process, walking me through every step thoughtfully and patiently. He referred me to an excellent lender, and gave me great referrals for everything else I needed. Even after we closed, he continued to help me sort everything out with the place and offer his help and expertise. He also has a great sense of humor and I really enjoyed spending time with him. I thought buying my first place would be very stressful, but thanks to Taylor, the experience was actually quite enjoyable and fun. read more

Taylor sold my condo during a pandemic in three weeks and had me moved into my new one shortly after! I first approached Redfin and they were very discouraging stating that due to the new covid guidelines with limited showings and an excess of condos on the market would make it hard to sell. Taylor was very encouraging and promised to give it his all. He was in constant touch with me as I was in another city and went above and beyond picking up packages and helping me set up new appliances. Not only did I gain a great realtor but I also gained a friend! read more

My wife and I started working with Taylor when we bought our first house in Oakland in 2013. He was instrumental in helping us negotiate a solid deal and working through all the nuances of purchasing in Oakland. A couple of years later, he also helped my in-laws purchase a condo nearby. Most recently, he worked with us in selling our house in Oakland after we decided to move to the Peninsula. When we were selling our home, he did a great job providing style advice, and helping us find contractors to improve the look and feel of the place prior to taking it to market. The house looked great, and we were very happy with the offer we ended up accepting. Having worked with Taylor both as buyers and a sellers, and having come to know him personally over the years, we're very happy to recommend him as a real estate agent. He's honest and direct, and knows the area very well. As buyers, we never had the experience of him trying to "sell" us on anything that wasn't right. At the same time, he communicated very clearly when something was a good deal (the house we ended up purchasing), and was also quick to suggest we walk away from subpar homes. When we bought our home, he provided us with a list of solid people to help with some additional work the place needed. As sellers, Taylor was great at helping us think through the various options we had in getting the house ready to sell, and helped us to spend wisely in making our place appealing to buyers. In the intense Bay Area real estate world, Taylor's level-headedness, calm, and good humor stand out. Buying and selling homes isn't without its ups and downs, and Taylor helped us navigate these with a minimum of stress. He's attentive to detail, responsive, and happy to do what needs to be done to make things work. He's the sort of person you'll be happy to have on your side whether buying or selling. read more

We started looking at homes about a year ago, popping into open houses in San Francisco on the weekends and getting a sense of this crazy market. About 5 months later we saw a property we loved and decided it was time to get serious and had Taylor recommended to us by a colleague who used to be a real estate agent herself and had trained Taylor years ago. From the get go Taylor was very approachable and easy to talk to, making himself available for phone calls at all hours on evenings and weekends and doing his best to work around our schedule and his other clients' schedules to visit those properties we were really interested in putting in an offer. As many of you know, there's very little negotiating in the San Francisco market these days, and once we started making offers he was never overbearing, and we never felt pushed to put in more than we were comfortable with, although there were times where we wished he would have provided more advice on what our offer should look like. That said, as others have noted, Taylor was very patient with us throughout the entire process, never making us feel pressured and always going out of his way to connect with our lender to make sure our offers were made on time and the sellers had everything they needed to make a decision. After about 7 months of often discouraging losses, we finally won an offer on a home in San Francisco and are excited to finally call the city we've lived in for nearly a decade home. Thanks Taylor for all your support! read more

Taylor is a great agent. We were referred to him by a friend as we were considering our first home purchase. He was great to work with, very clear and responsive. It was clear we had no idea what we were doing and Taylor gently educated us on how to prepare to become competitive bidders in a very tight market. He was just the right amount of supportive without being intrusive and guided us to a successful purchase after only a few months. We got the house of our dreams and stayed within our budget. We really appreciate the extra effort Taylor took to ensure we were feeling comfortable with our first home purchase. Would highly recommend. read more

Taylor helped me buy a duplex in Oakland in 2013 and then sell it 8 years later. I approached him a few times for advice during those eight years and he was always happy to help. I wouldn't hesitate to work with Taylor again and I recommend him highly. read more

Taylor was a fantastic choice for this first-time homebuyer. He answered all questions, even the dumb ones, and walked me through the process with aplomb. We shared a few laughs at some less-than-ideal options but got down to business with the best candidates. Taylor is the best real estate agent you can get. No, seriously, he's magic and butterflies. My co-worker, who recommended him to us described him as such, and it's true! I've never met a realtor this good! I didn't know they *could* be this good! He's very knowledgeable and very professional, and you basically feel like you're his only client, even though it definitely isn't the case. He really lays things down in a very accessible way, and his advice and intuition was crucial in us getting our offer accepted. Buying a house is really stressful, and Taylor is one of those people whose sheer presence makes the stress go away. I wouldn't have made it through this process without an aneurysm if he weren't involved. read more

We had been casually looking for a couple years and had taken a long break after parting ways with our last realtor. Taylor was awesome from the get go. He isn't a plastic BS salesman just trying to put you in a house. He doesn't try to get you excited about property you are not interested in. He is highly responsive and knows his way around Oakland and the way that market is developing. As first time buyer noobz that are not very hip to the hidden nuances of what to look for, Taylor was a great asset. She was not scared to stick his head into a crawl space and point out some things. He made some great recommendations on strategies to employ on offers and of other people to work with once deals were in place (like inspectors). Also he is highly patient. I was starting to get nervous we were going to hit the point (as we did with our first agent) where we got the vibe of "oh come on - just buy something already" but he was always super cool and never pushy. Highly recommended. If fact he has turned into a good friend and neighbor (he lives in our area) and is invited to all our BBQs and social events. read more

You know you have an amazing realtor when every listing agent at every open house says the same thing: "You're working with Taylor? Oh my gosh I LOVE Taylor! He's the best!" And that says it all. Taylor truly is THE BEST. He balances patience with diligence. From attics and crawlspaces to contracts and disclosures, he reviews and explains every detail. I lucked out big time! Taylor was referred to me by an old mutual friend of ours and when I met him I know right away he was the one! He's the right mix of professionalism and fun. Taylor helped me sell a very small condo in Oakland. It seemed straightforward, but then it got a little complicated, with other owners selling at the same time and I had moved out of state. Taylor handled EVERYTHING for me. It was so not stressful working with him. He made sure everything was fixed up and staged... His promotional items were gorgeous... It was my first home sale, so I was nervous, Taylor seemed to know instinctively when to call me and tell me to "breathe," but he also knew when to just let things ride. In the end my condo sold for 21% over asking, and for much more than the other people in the complex. I think this is in a large part due to Taylor. He was amazing and I couldn't recommend him more! I wish he'd come up to Portland and help me find a house here. Do yourself a favor if you are selling, contact Taylor right away, he's a joy to work with. read more

Taylor was amazing in helping us buy our home! As first time home buyers, my husband and I had a ton of questions and were unsure about the process as a whole. If you're a first time home buyer, look no further. My wife and I started looking for a house nearly a year ago and were lucky enough to have Taylor recommended by a coworker who had just purchased their own first home. From our very first phone call, Taylor made us feel comfortable with embarking on such a daunting process. He set realistic expectations up front and never assumed that we knew how the process worked which was perfect for us. We never felt bad peppering him with questions because his demeanor was always friendly and welcoming. We knew the process would take a while because we were so particular; we NEVER felt pressured which was awesome. Taylor always offered to go out of his way to pick us up and show us around on the weekends, even at a moments notice. He would take us underneath a house crawlspace and point out all the details to watch out for in the foundation and construction. Even with such a difficult market with so many pitfalls, Taylor's expertise of housing in the area made us feel confident that our decision would be a sound and responsible one. Taylor was a good fit for my wife and I. During our initial meeting, he met with us to get a feel for what we were looking for, which neighborhoods interested us, and what our budget (not much) was. He set us up with notifications for houses that met our criteria. Afterwards, he gave us space to look around, but let us know he was available any time needed anything. Any time I sent him a listing without an open house, he would get back to me quickly with information and an offer for an appointment. He was straightforward with us, giving us his opinion (which was always spot on) on which houses were going to be way out of our league, despite the list price. Once we found our place, he basically held our nervous little hands through the whole process of making an offer, getting inspections, negotiating with a stubborn seller, and pushing our mortgage officer to finalize the loan on deadline. All this was done with a sense of humor, and we're really grateful. Taylor also provides buyers with a year of home warranty coverage, which we've already taken advantage of. Definitely give him a call. read more

Taylor helped us purchase our first home. Besides the fact that viewing houses with him is super fun, he would go on brokers tours and look at all the houses on the market in the area. This saved us a ton of time since he started to understand our taste and we didn't waist time on properties he knew would not fit our style. After purchase he gave a lot of time to be there for inspections and estimates. It was a pleasure working with him and I'm recommending him to all my friends that will be buying homes in the future. When I was looking for a place in SF I worked with an agent that consistently push me to offer prices outside my comfort zone. Taylor never did this.
