I was able to attend horse shows with her and had the most positive experiences. Love ya Kathy. It's a family at the farm. MeriEllen from Massachusetts and now NH.

As we all get older, we create bucket lists. My wife and I sat down and put together a bucket list…read more One of her items which she considered to be a simple one was for us to go horseback riding. She had been horseback riding as a kid and really wanted to relive that experience with me. I on the other hand had never been on a horse before. I didn't want to tell her that I was feeling nervous or that I had some concerns about getting on a horse. But I did tell the lady who owns the farm privately and she helped me get comfortable. She helped select the horses from my wife and I, and although my wife had experienced as a child, the owner stated our older bodies are much different now and she picked a nice gentle horse for my wife and I. She took extra time to show me how to properly sit on the horse, keep my feet in the stirrups and hold onto the reins. In talking with friends they explained at most farms you normally get led by a human being around the circle a couple of times and that's horseback riding. At Spring Tide Farm they took us out and we rode the horses! The owner was a patient woman who was so kind to her animals as well as us humans. She explained she's been doing this for 50 years and the horses are like her children. She explained that her love for horses, not only extends to her horses, but those that she boards. The time seem to fly by, my wife and I had a great experience together. Time for the next thing on our list.

The Martin Family Ranch is a must! I was expecting to learn a bit and then enjoy a trail ride, but…read morewhat I got from Jess and David was so much more. I'm writing this a few days after my experience and am still smiling. At first, I actually drove right past their property because it was so beautiful that I thought it was someone's beautiful home with well-kept grounds. Jess greeted me outside. We chatted a bit about what I should expect for the day. I was surprised when she said they had prepared lunch for me. When I say they prepared a lunch, I don't mean crackers and cheese on a plate with grapes, which is always lovely. What I mean is they grilled delicious meats, prepared potatoes, as well as a fresh cucumber and tomato salad! They sat with me at the picnic table and we got to know each other a bit while we ate. Jess decided which horse she thought would be best for me. I got Gorgeous George. She chose wisely. All of their horses are gorgeous. They look so healthy and vibrant! David and Jess believe in the importance of the horse and rider getting familiar with each other. To do so, you have to spend some intimate time with each other. I was shown how to brush the horse (for different reasons and with different brushes); how to clean the horses hooves; and how to walk the horse. To be clear, I was shown how to do these things and then did these things. Then I got to ride the horse in the ring. By the time I got to the ring, I was so much more relaxed with George than I was when I first met him. David determined that I was ready to hit the short trail, so the 3 of us rode off. They both determined I was ready for the longer, more challenging trail. What a challenging, but fantastic rest of the day! We had a 2 hour adventurous ride through the trails and waters. I'm not an overly experienced rider. I've only done trail rides, and only started doing those as an adult. I've done those trail rides in NH, TX, AZ, etc. This was like no trail ride I've ever done. The scenery is great, the instruction is great, and the people are great. They love their horses, and care about their riders having a unique, safe, and beautiful day. I cannot wait to return!

I have filed a small claims case with Martin Family Ranch LLC as David Martin claims he isnt responsible for not refunding my money. My husband was hospitalized for a week in August 2025. and upon leaving the hospital there was no way he was going to be able to ride a horse. When I tried rebooking in February 2026 for this summer, the ranch was fully booked. Wouldn't a smart business try to work with someone's money they have already taken for a year. The big red flag was when his wife Jessica posted they were selling Martin's Ranch. It all smells funny, and if you look up their business ID in New Hampshire, the company is not in good standing. I would be very weary of any of these great reviews as they were four years old.
