We stopped there in a walk and spent some time on the swings and checking out the rising creek. The play system is small and basic, but that makes it easy to watch younger kids on it and keep them safe. There are only two very simple baby swings and two regular swings. I haven't been there for a few years and since my last visit, the city has added a nice restroom. Previously, you had to walk up to the small restaurant across the parking lot if you needed a restroom, so this was a nice improvement.

Being close to the Meramec River, part of the park does flood now and then. But, that is what it is. They clean it up pretty fast when it does.

Across from the pad is a play area with wonderful equipment for the kiddies to play on. This place also has a concession stand so you can get something to snack on or drink. This park also has restrooms by the concession stand. We used the family one to get him changed into his swim trunks. Everything is well thought out and perfectly executed! What a great addition to Edwardsville. I know we will be going back many times to enjoy this wonderful place.

The thing I love the the splash pads they have, they weren't on while I was there but I look forward to warmer days to enjoy those. They also have a basketball court and a nice walking path to enjoy. My only reason why I didn't give this park 5 stars was because the bathrooms and water fountains were closed. I understand that a lot of parks have schedules for when they turn on water at parks but it is something on nice days that would be Convenient to be able to use a bathroom and not end my park visit early. I am unsure what this summer will bring but pre Covid, day care centers would have the pool filled with children mid week from the time it is open until close to the end of their school day (3-4ish), so if crowds are a concern it may be best to call and see if there is a large group attending as I assume they're required to make it known they are attending. Not as big as Tower Grove or Queeny Park, but much larger than Tilles, Stacy and Faust Parks. So I was really impressed. The park is absolutely spotless, and it looks like it just had a major overhaul. The sidewalks, streets...even the trash cans and benches looked new. The playground has two side-by-side sections for preschool and elementary aged kids, and there are benches surrounding the playground (including one that is covered to keep you out of the sun). There is also a community center. I didn't go inside but there was a line of day camp kids heading back from the playground (?) toward the front door. I also saw a public swimming pool...really nice, tennis courts, ball fields, and a greenway trail. I was there around noon on a June weekday, and there were just a handful of people in the park. I'm sure there are times when it gets more busy, but if I lived in this area, I could see heading there for a lunch break and spending a lot of weekend time here.
