Talked with Ms. Taylor sent her photos, she tole me she could do the job, but was backed up from several jobs she was working on, but promised she would work me in. Great find in Boise as I was about to go online and order materials from out of town. This place does all kinds of upholstery, from aircraft seats to classic car renovations. House furniture reupholstery also done. But what I was looking for was case foam, a high density foam that is used in gun and other cases. Since the gun case is expensive, it made sense to have customized foam for each rifle to be carried. Taylor's was able to provide all the 2" case foam I needed. They cut it to size to fit my rifle case. I chose to do the interior cutouts for the individual rifles and magazines. An electric carving knife works swell for this chore. But they would have done that too for an hourly work charge. Maybe next time. Prices were good and service was quick. Glad to have found them and I enjoyed CoCo, the ball hawking dog who wants customers to throw it for him. read more

Went there to get an estimate on refurbishing cushions for our couch. The couch is probably 15 years old, but has had light use. The cushions were never much to write home (or to yelp) about, and after two knee replacements they were a little beaten up (if you've had a replacement, you know the value of a good couch at bedtime). The estimate for the cushions (two large seat and two large back) was a little high I thought, but the couch was about $900 when we bought it so I figured ok. They were very thorough, and after evaluating the fabric thought the couch had seen light wear and was worth putting in new foam. Holy cow. The quality of the foam is outstanding and frankly the couch is better than new. The seats feel firm when you first sit on them, but after about 5 minutes you can't even feel them anymore. They are supportive, easy to get up from, and look great. Yay Tailor-Made. Their estimate was right on the money, no surprises, and finished faster than their estimated completion. These folks are the greatest! We took one of our six chairs to them for an estimate. We wanted all six chairs reupholstered. Their estimate came in more than $700 below their competitor. Yikes! Should we take a chance? We looked at work they had done and decided to save that $700. We asked them to double check the yardage needed - a major expense! That estimate came in 1/2 yard per chair less that bid #2. We were VERY pleased with the results AND they are such nice folks to work with. We are so glad we chose Taylor Made Upholstery! Very nice folks! I took 2 small bar stool cushions in to get new foam inside. Donnelle happen to not have a customer, so she made the new cushions as I stood there ... what a sweet gal! After finding boisefoam.com, which is apparently Taylor-Made's online presence for all things foam, I visited the store to inquire about case foam for tools and equipment. I approached the salesperson near the back of the store and could barely get her to look up to acknowledge my presence. Once I did have her attention, I showed her a sample of the foam I was looking for and was immediately dismissed with the comment, "we don't carry that kind of foam, you should look online." Not a single question asked, barely a recommendation, no interest in sharing any expertise or even offering a reasonable solution. I left, double checking the sign outside to make sure I hadn't visited the wrong store. I hadn't, and returned to my studio to continue my search online. So, here's the catch and what the aloof salesperson didn't get the opportunity to find out: I was looking for a local foam supplier for a huge, ongoing, custom case project potentially worth thousands to a foam supplier.
