These guys were a nightmare. We had a house fire last year. We contacted this company to do the…read morerebuild work. The first week they were great. Then they just went downhill. Didn't read the plans, didn't plan/schedule things ahead of time. Workers would only show up a couple days a week, a few hours at a time. My favorite guys were the two 70 year olds who were on perpetual break. We had to beg them all summer to get things done. Usually they would show up if they wanted some money. As soon as they got a check, they disappeared for weeks. We were compensated almost 9 months to live in a house from insurance. But because of 84th's inability to do a simple garage and entry way addition in a timely manner, Me, my wife and 2 small children had to stay in a 20' camper in our front yard for 3 months while they took their sweet time doing anything. I had to step in and perform drywall work and excavation work as well as repair framing to the house to speed the project up. I received no compensation for this labor. Despite paying nearly 6 grand in project management fees, they did not bill my insurance correctly, then tried passing the costs on to me to the tune of 20 thousand dollars. You don't receive any kind of itemized billing (because we agreed to a set price) so it wasn't until the end of the project I realized how much over the budget they were. When asked about it I was given the response of " Oh I figured I would just charge you time and material because it was easier" So I asked for a time and material statement and never got one despite repeated requests. Even my attorney couldn't get one. Most of the charges were bogus as well. Which is probably why they did not submit to insurance. I ended up lawyering up but it was becoming to costly to fight. I'm sure they knew this going in. The guys wife is an attorney so they get the buddy rate for legal fees I'm sure. As of this writing they have not completed the warranty work around my house. I cant say strongly enough to avoid this shady outfit.

These guys are the real deal. This is my second Yelp-worthy review of Alaskan contractor and I…read morealmost can't believe it. My mom retired after living in Alaska for 30 years, she bought a place in Hawaii that we spent 5 years fixing up, I wrote 1 review of all the people that helped us (and there were a lot :-)... and now we have a house back in Alaska and I've already found 2 Yelp-worthy guys??!?! The 411: Ryan, Dylan, Evan, Daniel, and 2 other great guys who's names I'm blanking on... they are collectively a power-house of competence, kindness, concern for my interests, smarts to figure out how to 'get it done', deferential to my constant needs for updates, pictures, and information. I am so thankful that we found these guys. Our project looks better than expected, it was done on a time-frame that no one else could promise to deliver on, the pricing was very fair, and their commitment to getting it right and making sure I was happy stayed true to the end. Most of my project was 'finish carpentry' type work, the bulk of it was installing 21 beautiful wood doors that I'd ordered from Ohio (Homestead Door company, found them on Houzz, good company), all new door and window trim, new baseboards, and new banisters for staircase and loft railing. And while I am thoroughly impressed by all this work that was done, I'm perhaps even more impressed that I could add 4-5 other smaller projects and get those done as well. This requires organization and having the right guys with competence in all aspects of construction to do well. And again, that they cared, the bulk of the job described above was where they made their money, its just as easy to say, "Sorry, that was the project we agreed to", get paid, move on. But it really seemed most important to them that they have a happy customer. And I feel great (and excited) that I've got someone to 'partner' with to finish the kitchen and bathrooms. And to know they'll stand by their work and stick with it until its done right. They had several very good references which is why I chose them originally, and those references were not wrong, these guys are worth promoting. I'm so very thankful for the work they did on our house, they deserve all their success!

I brought it to their attention immediately and was immediately treated rudely and essentially was told I was lying and that there is no way that could have happened. I explained that I saw the rock fly at me from the box, but they dismissed anything I said. I expected they would have offered to submit a claim through their insurance or perhaps offer to help pay for the repair. I used to be a customer, as I prefer to hire local companies, but I will never ever give business to these people who treat other people that way again.

After calling other companies who weren't able to come out right away, Valley Mtn had someone available to send right away. The technician was very knowledgeable and helpful. I told him what it had been doing and what I thought was the problem. His quick diagnoses proved my presumptions wrong. He got right to work, chasing parts locally and getting the work done promptly. Sean was also friendly and personable, but worked hard and was diligent. I highly recommend Valley Mtn Services, and will very definitely call them the next time I have heating issues in my duplex. They are now my go to mechanical service.

They were busy and running a little behind but Dana kept me apprised of the timeline by text. The tech, Tony showed up and had the heater working; blowing hot air in less than half an hour. It seemed to be a reasonable cost; I would recommend Valley Mountain

My parents passed away and left me to manage the house. I do…read moremy own mechanical work but didn't want to create a liability to the heirs if I cross-threaded or over-torqued something. The harshest critic is someone who thinks they could do the work themselves. I've required their services in preparing the house for pre-sale inspections. My parents were good people who chose good people, I am grateful that they left me an honest and reliable service provider.

Statewide is state of the art plumbing service. The other reviewers don't understand that annual…read moremaintenance is required to maintain their unit. Also the units Statewide uses cost anywhere from $200-$1000 less a month to heat your unit. When something goes wrong, they have an error code that takes them straight to problem and they can fix it quickly. They have bent over backwards to try and limit my costs and given me great advice. For example, they recommended a water softener and ever since we got one our water tastes better and we have had a lot less problems. Don't trust the other two reviewers who don't understand the cost savings of the boilers they use. They have installed 900 or more units in Eagle River and their service area and these are likely complainers who inherited a house that didn't get maintained or they didn't get a water softener.
