My Experience with RMP Chevrolet: A Cautionary Tale As a…read moreloyal RMP customer for over a decade, having purchased five vehicles from them, I am compelled to share my recent experience. Unfortunately, it is not a positive one. Coercion, deceit, and a complete disregard for my well-being led me to this point. Here's what happened: 1. Limited Inventory and Misleading Tactics: * When my last lease was up three years ago, RMP had minimal trucks on the lot that met my criteria. Despite this, I took what they had (a 2021 model) with the promise that the next truck would be exactly what I wanted. * Fast forward to my most recent lease: RMP claimed there was still no inventory available. However, they conveniently had a diesel truck on hand. Knowing my situation, they persuaded me to buy it, even though it was not suitable for my needs, as I've worked from home since 2019 and was on a critical surgical wait list for a debilitating spine injury. * Sales Tactics and Broken Promises: * The salesman, Len H., began by sharing how tough things were at the dealership. He even mentioned personal financial struggles. This was all part of his sales strategy. * Len and the Sales Manager, Carter S., irresponsibly pressured me into a truck that didn't align with my preferences or lifestyle. They assured me that nothing else would be available due to ongoing production issues. * When they presented the diesel truck, I expressed my disinterest. They falsely claimed better fuel mileage and insisted that diesel trucks were superior to gas trucks. They even brought in someone from accounting to vouch for it. 2. The Shocking Highlight: * Len boldly stated, "A diesel truck is the same as a regular truck." Carter echoed this sentiment. Keep in mind that I worked from home and was disabled at the time, barely able to drive. * Reality hit hard: The diesel truck was difficult to maneuver, especially compared to a regular truck. It became unusable for me, especially during my post-surgery recovery. 3. Ethical Malpractice and Disregard for Customer Well-Being: * The truck regularly got clogged up due to my limited driving. When I raised concerns, Len callously suggested I drive it to Moosejaw a few times to fix the issue. * RMP's ethics were deplorable. When I repeatedly expressed my displeasure, they offered me a 2-year-old Tahoe (already driven 70,000 km) to "get me out" of the diesel truck. Their accountant, Cathy C., downplayed the previous issues, lied about the numbers to try and have me pay more for an overdriven Tahoe than my Diesel which had 7,000 kms at the time. * All they cared about was maximizing profit, even if it meant taking advantage of a loyal customer. A Warning to Others: * I hope every vehicle consumer in Saskatchewan learns from my experience. RMP's business practices are unacceptable. * A diesel truck is not the same as a regular truck. Don't fall for RMPs lies.
