I just walked in and they were able to get me it right away. Today's visit it looked like they were busy but they were still able to get me in faster than the estimated time they told me. When they were about to put in my old tires they noticed the 2 of them were so bad that they couldn't put them back in. They gave me options what I can do. I ended up buying 2 new tires that they had in stock. So that was handy. My visit was longer than expected but I honestly didn't mind it as it needed to be done and they were nothing but professional through the whole thing. This time however, I was told they couldn't do the alignment because my rear lower lateral lateral links were bad and one of my struts was bad. The cost of repair was $2,400+. I have a fair bit of mechanical experience and knew what I was being told was unlikely. I declined the repairs and took my car to a suspension specialist. I didn't tell them what Kal Tire told was wrong, I just said I had been told I could not get a four wheel alignment due to issues with my suspension. They check the vehicle out and found there was nothing at all wrong.

I would not trust taking my vehicle to any other service station in Regina. I had been dealing with a dealership since I bought my car and recently the warranty ran out. I had a concern with a noise I heard and was given an $800 plus estimate. After having several bad incidences happen with the service department at this dealership I decided to take my car to Kuntz's Automotive here in Regina, with a recommendation from a friend. The owner checked over my car plus another service man was asked to check it as well and both came to the conclusion this $800 estimated work was not needed. They could have gone ahead with the repair and I would not have been any the wiser but instead he explained why this wasn't needed and when he said to me he couldn't live with himself had he gone ahead with this repair, I knew I had found the one and only service shop I will ever trust to work on my vehicles. If there was a rating from 1-10 being the best, I would have a hard time giving them only a 10 when 15 even 20 wouldn't be enough to show my appreciation for how I felt leaving KUNTZ'S AUTOMOTIVE that day especially when all I could say was thankyou so much.

I took it to another dealer who determined that there was a very slow leak. For $176.00 they recharged it and topped up the refridgerant, it worked fine for the remainder of the summer. Next year, it failed again. This time the dealer repeated the recharge and added a sealant $248.00. It functioned fine for the rest of the summer and is functioning again this summer. Fast forward, I just took my car in to Midas as the exhaust was noisy. Midas quoted me $1056.00 to replace the whole exhaust system. I took it to another dealer, they showed me a break in the pipe where the resonator connects to the muffler. They repaired this break by replacing a piece of the pipe - cost $244.00 including replacement of a brake light! Conclusion, Midas is looking to how much they can get out of you - not for creative solutions that work well and cost less.

I called the closest VW dealership and was told they would be unable to even look at my car until Tuesday. They referred me to Preferred. Preferred said they could have a look at my car that afternoon and hopefully be able to let me know what was happening. I dropped off my car around 2:00 that afternoon. We grabbed a bite to eat, and I went back to the shop to check in. They still weren't 100% sure what the problem was, but promised to call before the end of the day. They closed at 5:30. I hadn't heard anything by 5:28 so I called them (only reason I gave this a 4 instead of a 5 - I feel like a jerk for it). I was dying to hit the road and nervous as far as cost went. They said it was a broken wire and they would fix it first thing in the morning - said they would call when it was done. They must've jumped right on it because I was on the road by 9:30 the next morning to come home. The staff at preferred was so wonderful and patient with me. I'm a younger girl who hasn't had many experiences with mechanics, so I'm so thankful that I had a good one here. They gave excellent service and I am happy to recommend them.
