There is a lot to be said about this beautiful body of water & it's stunning array of trees along…read moreit's edges. Where to begin, however, is a thankful challenge. Today was my families first visit here, my mom slipped & fell while attempting to climb into the kayak - but the slippery bank is the only complaint I have....and it's not much of a complaint as it was a good laugh. Anyways, one of the best things I noticed about this park is that it is completely handicap friendly. They have a cute dock that has a rubber mat at the beginning so your wheelchair wont go full speed into the railing, a wheelchair accessible porta potty, parking & store. Although I did not go into the store itself, you can rent kayaks, paddle boats, john boats, canoes, and electric motors or you can even bring your own. And if you are an Akron resident & can bring proof- you get 10% off your rentals :) The water & picnic areas was spotless, no trash anywhere in sight except a large amount of goose poop but that can't be helped. There was a beautiful variety of trees, wildlife( great for bird watchers ( ...I saw at least 5 Blue Herons!), and anyone who loves dragonflies & damselflies. It was quiet, people were very respectful and it truly was very pretty! I also loved their bulletin board (which is a strange thing to appreciate) because they not only had one of my favorite sayings " The world is not your ashtray, please pick up your butts" but they also had a picture/advertisement up to adopt children from a local agency with a short description of that child (I would love to adopt this tween- Jacob if I could). Another stroke at my heart strings was another sign asking visitors to not keep small fish & requested they release them back into the waters to help the population grow and maintain a healthy balance. So kudos to whomever posted all these things because it shows you have an amazing heart!

This place has absolutely ruined mogadore reservoir. Very disappointing for the true fisherman that…read moreloved to go to this lake on a Saturday and Sunday morning to get away from the traffic of big boats and big motors. Don't waste your time going out it's full of disrespectful people. They have let the water turn to green algae with dead fish floating all over. All they are worried about is money and how many kayaks or paddle boarders they can get in the water to ruin your day! Was hoping my daughter could grow up loving mogadore reservoir like my husband did but that will never happen. Thank you for ruining the love of this lake to make a dollar!!!

Freedom boat club has made my husband fall in love with the city of Pittsburgh (he's not a native)…read moreand boating! We joined last year shortly after the franchise opened and have never looked back. Just show up, take the boat out and have fun. Then bring it back and you're done, the dock masters do the rest! No cleaning, storage, or maintenance!! Prior to joining FBC, neither my husband nor I had operated a boat before. The dock masters host trainings and go out with you on the water to ensure your safety and that you feel comfortable learning the ins and outs of boating. Want more practice? They're willing to come out with you and work with you any day. The owner Michael and his staff have been wonderful, even putting together social events for members in the off season which have been a lot of fun! One of the best perks of FBC is having access to over 100 reciprocal locations (the Florida clubs are great during the Pittsburgh winters!!). We can't wait for boating season 2020.

I enjoy the concept of the boat club but it's definitely overpriced. The staff that was present…read morewhen we visited was great. We appreciate you. Surprisingly, Pittsburgh is an interesting place to boat with the bridges & downtown views. Unfortunately for our nations' cities, there were many people living in tents under the bridges. This is what being liberal does to US cities. Shameful. But thanks for the outing experience FBC
