Pros: Trails were marked well with beginning to end markings, staff friendly, and clean camping area. Cons: We did not find the shower houses in the camping area and the port-a-potties were gross. My son and I booked a 4.5hr Mine Tour and all I can say is that it did not disappoint. Starting from the time we arrive at 9am, the lady at the counter got us checked in and handed us slips to fill out for lunch in which we pick what we want from a list. The lunch was provided by their onsite food truck guys in the parking lot, "Your Momma's Kitchen" which had very good food. Burgers/Fries/Chicken sandwiches were the norm. Moving on to outside, Scott got us fitted for helmets and goggles and had us pick our machine, we chose the 2-seater model and got settled. There were 5 rentals in our tour that day, (2) 2-seaters and (3) 4-seaters, plus Scott in the lead. After getting everyone outfitted, Scott got us all together and gave a quick rundown of what we were going to do, what to expect, as well as a quick safety brief. He asked everyone on the tour what their experience level was and talked with us all about the machines. The tour was off and going up, down, and through the hills was completely awesome. It had rained the night before so the trails were just right for slipping, sliding, and having great fun. Luckily, we wore rain gear for the trip, and I will tell you this: I will take mud on the clothes over eating dust all day. The rain was a welcome addition to the trails for us. Over the course of the trip, Scott would stop the tour, provide water or bathroom breaks, and give us history about the place. It was just a few minutes each time, but it was a welcome break. The Mine Tour came after lunch. We all lined up and drove through after Scott. It is surprisingly cool in there, 55 degrees no matter the temp outside he said. We stopped halfway through the tour inside the mine, gathered all the units together and we shut off all the lights.... complete and utter darkness all around. He kept talking through it, giving us some history on the mine and how far in we were. Luckily the lights went on before anyone really freaked out and we got on our way. Getting back to base, we posed for pics and thanked everyone. You leave your dirty helmets on a bench and walk away from your mud-covered machine; they clean it all for you. We washed our boots and took off our rain gear, we were good to go for the car ride back. All in all, we would totally do this again. We were in from California and this was a great way to spend half a day in the hills; tearing ass through the mud, gassing it up the hills and ripping through water puddles. The trails are pretty well maintained; some have ruts but most do not. Heck, what do you expect with 100 people a day riding and tearing it up? Good water spots to go through, some good long straightaways to get up some speed, and hairpin turns to slow you down. We didn't hit any jumps that day; that's probably a different insurance form to fill out. LOL Things to bring: - Riding attire/gloves or a change of clothes. You will get muddy. - Phone for pics and music. The side by sides have Bluetooth, so if you want to listen to music as you tear through the hills, it's available. The music is nice for a bit, but hearing that engine rev up as you run up a hill is music to my ears. - A rag or cloth to clean your goggles; they get pretty muddy - GoPro with mount if you want to record your adventure. All in all, it's a must for me if I ever return to Pennsylvania. They were professional, in good communication before and after the tour, and to me, well worth the money. We took the four and a half hour tour with four two seat ATVs and had four drivers with two passengers. We had a great time. The guide, Stephen, was very friendly and did an excellent job of navigating us around the various trails. Anyone who worked there was extremely nice and courtes. They really could not do enough for you. We all had a great time and would definitely do again. The tour of the mine is very interesting. Just as a note, wear old clothes and bring a change of clothes and towels. You will get very muddy. I highly recommend. Have fun!!!!! read more

If you're put off by the overall number of stars earned by Mines and Meadows, I would encourage you to read the full reviews across several platforms. The complaints mostly paint the picture of the internecine disputes between the desired riding surfaces of dirt bikers vs. ATV riders, hardcore enthusiasts vs. beginners, members vs. day visitors, etc... I had a tremendous day at Mines and Meadows as a casual, inexperienced ATV rider! And my more experienced companions had a lot of fun as well. We took the 4.5-hour SUNRISE DAY TOUR and rode in a 4-seater. I had prepared myself for what could have been hours of bone jangling, followed by soreness the next day. However, brand new, and spotless, $26k machines made it as comfortable and safe of a ride as possible - even at breakneck speeds through heavily rutted trails. (Don't get me wrong - you will get jangled and jarred, and I wouldn't recommend it for someone with neck or back issues. But it's nothing like what my previous frame of reference was: tearing around on an old ATV with decades old shocks.) Some key points: 1) This is a premium experience at a premium price. If you have the means, I highly recommend it. 2) Great customer service: Our guide was inexperienced but personable and did a great job making sure that we took our full allotment of time and getting some great action photos and video which were delivered by email the following day. The owner clearly cares about the business and is involved in every aspect, down to giving the talk in the mine and ensuring that the service was very customer focused. 3) The wet and muddy part is exhilarating, and you do that just before the lunch break. You will be 100% saturated in muddy water and you should definitely wear boots and bring old towels, and a change of clothes & shoes. The post-lunch mine tour would have been a difficult and freezing experience in wet, muddy gear. 4) There are long stretches of driving on the wooded trails to get from one location to another. This is pleasant and relaxing. If you have multiple people in the ATV ask the guide to plan out some stops to switch out drivers. 5) If you're prone to motion sickness then sit in the front and take copious amounts of anti-nausea medicine. Of all the times I have been here, this was by far the worst experience I have ever had. Thanks to ambassador "Cheryl" and her bad day, she wanted to make my family trip as bad as hers. Apparently I accidentally got my birthdate wrong by one day on the online form, and that was the tipping point of her day. Aside from almost having to provide a DNA test, she wanted my children to get out of the truck to proof their identity and obtain their wristbands out of the truck. No questions or affirmations were asked of them, and it was a pure power trip to prove her position as Queen of Check In. Meanwhile, the other 6 people as of noon on a Wednesday that did also attend this extremely very busy day of the week, must have had a great experience. But my daughter was appalled having to attempt to use this incredibly clean potty john while the ambassador "Cheryl" was more concerned about whether or not my birthdate was correct instead of a clerical error on my part. I cant say that I will be coming back here anytime soon, or even at all after this experience. "Cheryl" advised if I had an issue with her policy to take it up with management. So here I am... The ATV guided tour was not for me . My husband and I were so excited to take the guided tour and only ended up doing 2 of the 4 hrs. Thankfully at hour 2 our ATV over heated due to mud in the radiator and we had to go back to home base to hose it out , so it gave us the opportunity to not continue for the second half . We were disappointed we didn't go to the mine part but after 2 hrs I was so motion sick and it was so dusty that we seriously couldn't see where we driving for many parts . We were basically driving blind at way too fast speeds to keep up with our guide . It would have been way more fun for us had we not been driving so ridiculously fast . Trails were extremely narrow and winding . I seriously don't know how we didn't crash many times over . read more

Had a great time on an ATV tour for an hour and a half/ 2 hrs. The mine was definitely the highlight but the machines were brand new and the guides excellent. All the equipment was spotless clean, helmet, googles. And the courses were well maintained and traveled. The tour offered some deep water spots you can enjoy, and some sand dunes and hills climbs and Rocky descents. Nothing dangerous, but fun and challenging. We will be back next year. Took a few of my buddies here for a bachelor party weekend getaway and we all had a blast. The 7 hour drive from NYC ended up becoming 10 hours after getting stuck in traffic trying to get out of the city and my own ignorance for putting in the wrong address in my car's navigation system. You can pretty much ATV anywhere on the east coast but this was the only place I found which was a reasonable driving distance from home that let's you navigate ATVs through pitch black mines. On top of that, they have a vast network of super fun off-road trails for you explore. From technical trails with rocky, rooty, twisty climbs, to mud bogs, to fast banked turns and jumps, this place has it all whether you like getting down and dirty or have the need for speed. We opted for the 3-hour tour for $185 and our guide, Steve, was very knowledgeable and friendly. He took us all over and we got to check out almost every aspect of their trails. After 2.5 hours, we finally made our way into the abandoned limestone mines. It was truly a unique, one of a kind experience. The cabin we rented was nothing to write home about, but it served its purpose. There were a few surprisingly comfortable cots which were provided but other than that, it was a minimalistic cabin. We were also provided with 50 gallons of water, two charcoal grills, and a fire pit. One thing worth mentioning is if you have your own ATV you can just get a day pass or weekend pass instead of taking a guided tour. Overall, a very memorable weekend and I would definitely return for some more ATV action. read more

Here is what to expect: Good: Plenty of trails with varying difficulties Mostly one-way trails (safer) Lots of tight corners but also lots of open areas as well Hill climbs Mud bog Mine tour Not extremely difficult or extremely easy terrain (not too hilly or too flat) Well maintained trails Lots of parking Food truck most days Not so good: Really really dusty in some areas and excessively muddy in others The mud is like clay and super sticky. I have to use a power washer to wash my bike They are very busy, and sometimes you get stuck in traffic behind other riders HARD TO NAVIGATE at first if youve never been there. They have gotten better with signage but the spiderweb of trails can be confusing For some reason every single UTV shows up here. One of our favorite ATV parks! My husband and I became members of the park after only visiting one time. The place is very close to the Ohio border. We take the turnpike to the Beaver exit and it is only a few miles off the exit. Upon entering the mobile trailer check in doesn't look like much and isn't much. The people are very firendly and will help you with anything. There are 3 parking lots offereing enough room for everyone. They offer a mine tour, rentals, cabins, camping, and vinyl maps. The vinyl maps are totally worth it and are resuseable. You can wipe them down after they get all muddy!! The mine tour is worth doing at least once. They take you around a part of the park that you can't get to without a guide. The mine ride is about 15 minutes of the one hour tour. They take you into the mine and have you shut off all your lights to show how dark it is. There is also a huge puddle in there that will be sure to clean off the mudd on your bike from earlier in the day! They have a ton of trails including mud, hill climbs, and rocks. There is a small track in the center of the park if you are into speed. There is also a big mud hole there to play in. They do have a pee wee track as well. Most of the trails are one way which is great. Track 1 is meant to go around the park and get you back home. Track 7 goes straight through the park. This type of set up is great becuase it allows you to manuever through the park with out stopping every 2 minutes to read a map. Small insights: trail 13 has alot of mudd, trail 44 is uphill and hard to manuever, trail 9 is a very swirvy trail, long, and in the woods. The camping is also great. There usually aren't alot of people camping there so you can have the place to yourself. They have nice flat spots and spot 11 is pretty shaded. You can take your pets camping with you as well. They have cabins there but I have never used them. They look great from the outside. They offer the ability to order food from Domino's and it will be delivered whatever time you want it. We are very experienced ATV riders and found most trails very easy no matter how they were rated. The only problems we noticed were the unexpected mud bogs. I highly recommend you have at least 1 machine with a winch. Some of the hills on the marked easy trails may prove to be to steep for very small machines and riders. Most trails are rock free and only a few had boulder sections you had to transverse. All but a few trails are marked one way but some intersections are not or poorly marked. Additionally, some trails were closed. Overall, experienced riders could easily ride all the trails in a day but depending on the route you choose you may repeat sections of certain trails. We rode during the week and there were very few riders. I heard it is packed on weekends. The campground was very nice with large sites.and had both 50 and 30 amp electric hookup. Depending on site location, you may need a long water hose. I do not recommend running the water through your RV unless you have a good filter. I noticed a slight odor and the water was not clear. The mine tour was OK. The trails we rode to get to the mine were very nice but the ride was a bit slow for us. The time we spent in the mine was short but it was worth the 5 bucks. Overall, it is a nice place to go at least once but those who like long trail rides may be disappointed. Management is nice and seem to care, They seem to constantly make improvements. read more

Mines and Meadows!! What a place to check out. But be forewarned, the entrance to the campgrounds can get confusing. To shed some light, which took us over an hour and a half to find, it's located at 771 Darlington Road. If you have your own ATV's and just coming for the day or staying off-grounds at a hotel, you can go to 1307 Old Route 18. Day passes ($25) and weekend passes ($40) can be purchased and you're free to roam anywhere on the more than 70 miles on 600 acres of land. Our group opted for a 3-hour ATV rental ($185) with tour guide, which they had just recently started a few years ago. You can also opt for the 2-hour ATV ride ($135) if you don't think your body can handle the 3-hours of rough riding. And believe me, if you have not done ATV riding before, you're body will be sore from all the technical trails traversing through bumps , rollers, rock scrambles, roots, mud bogs, hill climbs, and a dirt oval track with banked walls. You can get some real good speed in the oval track, but forewarned as all the dust that you wind kicking up with your buddies will get on all your clothes, eyes, mouth and in between your teeth. If you want to avoid getting dust in the mouth, I'd highly advise wearing a bandana over the face. If you're a bit bummed that you're with a tour guide, I could understand why as you are riding some expensive pieces of equipment that the owners don't want you to damage. But not to worry, as our tour guide, Steve, took us through first easy then more technical trails that fit our skill level perfectly and far exceeded our expectations. He's a super cool guy that made sure we all stuck together and stopped from time to time to give us some history of the land. After the ride, Steve took us on the cave tour which was pretty cool, literally at an all-year 55º F temperature, though going through it was a bit slow and boring. But you have to remember it's pitch black in there except for your ATV lights, which makes things interesting. Especially when your tour guide has you stop and turn off all engines and lights. Eerily scary though a nice way to end a long tour through the wet, dusty, and super fun trails of Mines and Meadows. Also worth nothing, although on their website it states you can rent helmets ($5/day), glasses ($5/day), and the cave/mine tour ride ($5), they were all included in our rental. Steve also let us use the showers (and offered us towels) which is located right next to his office. If you do decide to use the shower, you may stare at confusion when there is no handle. You can turn on the water but flipping the switch on the showerhead. Water pressure is good, though the water temperature can vary from scalding hot to extremely cold all in one shower. We also stayed at their first built wooden cabin which is basically four wooden walls, a door and two windows. It's minimal and simplistic with several cots provided. Be sure to bring pillows, sleeping bags, and whatever else you may need. There are two lights inside the cabin that is self-powered by a solar-powered panel bolted onto the roof. Also included by the cabin was a large ~36"x~18" charcoal grill, a tiny 1' round tabletop grill, a picnic table, a round fire pit made from a car rim suspended on cinder blocks, a questionable 50 gallon water tank that had spiders coming out of it, and a porter potty. Would I come back? Without a doubt! Although it's close to the western border of Pennsylvania, literally miles away from Ohio, it's worth checking out. I never knew ATV riding could be so much fun and the standards have been set high for any future ATV expeditions. We also spoke to the older gentleman who owned the land and he let us in on some secrets. He is focusing on improving the land to include more trails to make it one of the largest ATV parks in the nation, adding ziplines, kayak rentals and more campgrounds to make this a popular getaway outdoor destination. I am totally on board with him on this and can see this place that has some great potential. I'd give this place 5 stars, but with all that is to come (and the crudeness of the cabin), I need to save the 5th star when I revisit. read more

Lots of trails looks like nice campground only went for the day. Big down size there trails need a little grooming very rutted out had rzr 900 with oversized tires and kept bottoming out. Hopefully it's because I went so early maybe before riding season they will fix them. I will give it another try latter in year and see if they do grooming read more

First time visit was good. Trails were not mark as good as the could be. The Mine tour wasn't I all hoped for and very short, on that note the guide was as nice as can be. Most of the workers were helpful except the 2 at the front Tried to go get coolers with someone that rented a unit and they wouldn't let us back to help get our lunch. I am a dirtbike rider only I do not own an ATV or side-by-side the only good place to ride there with a Dirt bike is in the woods on the singletrack trail with your dirtbike It's on the trail map but the problem is the trail is not marked very well it's supposed to be marked with pink ribbons The ribbons are only here and there and the trail is not marked well. If you spend enough time there you will eventually figure it out but management just needs to get on it and mark it. As for all the other trails there way too easy for dirt bikes plus if you get behind an Atv that is not Trail conscious and doesn't move over for you you're going to wait so all in all if you're willing to figure out where the singletrack is it's worth the ride it's pretty technical it's nothing I'd take a little kid on. If you go during a weekday I'm sure there's less ATVs on the spinoff trails And if it's rained a lot there it can be very muddy and rutted on the main trails read more

I can't speak for everyone but my experience with mines and meadows wasn't too fun. I have a sport quad and with the ruts and the mud I was constantly getting stuck. There is really no where to open your atv up. Horrible. Not to mention expensive. You can get a season pass for marienville for about the same price you pay for the daily rate here. If I had a 4x4 it might have been a little better although my friends did and they said they hated it. read more

Camped here a while back and enjoyed it very much. The campgrounds are spacious and out in the boonies as promised. Not too difficult to find and the trails were fun. It's realistically a one day trail run and they could be marked better. Saw 2 riders totally lost and looking for where their atv broke down. Local attractions were atv related but minimal, although the mine tour was held n high esteem (not open when we went). I have been riding since I was 5 years old and I have been a lot of places. I do a lot of riding at Hatfield and McCoy Trails in WV and other places. First I asked to get a camp site near the restrooms since my wife and daughter were with me. We got one, next to the port-a-john. We were never told there are no restrooms, and I don't consider a port-a-john a restroom. I had to pay $4 for a trail map, that was nothing buy a computer printout. Every place I have been give them out for free since you're paying to ride. It is nothing but as many trails as they could fit in a small space. Trails are not maintained. In two instances trails were marked green on the map, they had blue tags when we got to them. One of them caused me to have to get two ATV's turned around in a tight spot. Told the front desk, they said I must of been on the wrong trail or kids "moved" the markers. The woman actually argued with me. I talked to 4 other people that ran into the same trails marked wrong. Trails are not maintained, nor are they impressive in any way. The mine tour takes 45 minutes, but you are actually only in the mine for 10, maybe 15 minutes. The rest of the time is spent riding on a trail that goes overtop of the mine. I paid for a "MINE" tour, not an "over the mine" tour. I will go back to Hatfield and McCoy trails, which I highly recommend, and the other places I ride. But I will not waste my money here again. If I liked place, I was going to consider getting a yearly pass since I live within an hour from it. Not going to happen. There were a few people that I talked with having the same opinion of mines and meadows. If you like to ride and have been to other trails.... don't waste your time here. read more

I'm actually from the Akron area and have been riding here for quite sometime. The staff is helpful and very friendly as are the other riders you meet out on the trails. Been stopped along a trail and as people ride by they would always ask if everything was okay. Been riding here with both friends/family and have never had a bad experience. We mostly ride quads and side by sides and have to say that it is the "best place" by far in the area without a doubt! It only takes me an hour to get there and the fun begins! The trails are always in good condition and my younger kids really enjoy it. Definitely suggest getting the season pass for sure as you will save money in the long run. Check out the mine tour for sure when you go! We try to do the mine tour almost every time we go. A nice ride especially if its hot or cold outside due to the constant temperature inside. Also, the view is impressive when you ride up the mine to reach the entrance as you can see out over the local town. Forgot to mention the tour guide is pretty funny too. They also have a camp ground which we have used on several occasions and have always had a great time. The locals are always courteous and friendly also. Ummm...My 5th time there in 2 years. A few suggestions to the management /first timers: The vinyl map is worth the $5 if you plan to return but it needs to show some landmarks such as the hill climbs, the bogs and the meeting area for the mine tour. The trails here don't go very far before an intersection appears & a decision must be made (kind of a PIA). A sign on a tree read "to the bogs" and then...nothing else. Never found it. If you want to go to the hill climb or bog etc, then you're going to just have to stumble upon it. Twice as many signs are needed here, as every 3 minutes your on a different trail # it's almost impossible to remember where you are at; way too much thinking is required here!! Imagine needing help, calling the emergency #, "well tell us where you are". "HELL I HAVE NO IDEA!" Trail conditions: Although the trails are kept trimmed wide & clear, I have seen no evidence in my last two years here to repair the huge ruts on some of the trails but most of all, nothing done to the huge puddle ruts, especially on 19/39 ( I think). Can't someone spend A weekend on a bulldozer & shape this place up a bit? Bottom line: $50 to ride a day for my son and I is a bit steep for what it is; but it's close to Pgh. I can't commit to a $400 annual pass here, summer is to short to be able to get your money's worth. I prefer a long weekend in Marienville or further north to majestic trails...****UPDATE: I just received a holiday (Xmas) gift card for my birthday. Seven one day passes for $100 thats about $15 per day. That's more in my family budget & I forgot to mention that this place is open year-round (except during hunting season.) read more

I've heard so much about Mines & Meadows from my friends that I decided to take the family there for Memorial weekend and I must say it was a great choice. We checked in on Friday and the people at the office were very friendly and made us feel welcomed. After we got the camper setup we took the kids to the pee wee track for some practice before we hit the big trails, we then rode on trail #1 which is great for kids and beginers. On Saturday we ventured onto some of the more difficult trails which wern't to bad and also did the mine tour which was worth the extra $5. Later I met up with some of the regulars who showed me around the park while the family went shopping in Cranberry which was only 20 minutes away. We were supposed to check out Sunday but we had so much fun that we stayed another day. I found out that there is a race track down the road and also a couple of golf courses close by so I will have to check them out next time. I would deffinitly recomend this place for any family that rides atvs. read more

We found Mines and Meadows trails to be extremely rough and rutted. One for the riders in our crew blew out his front differential when he hit a 3' deep rut on green trail #25. Yes I said green trail (easy). Also, we were only able to log about 40 miles on our wheelers, as the rest of the trails were either black, or single track for dirt bikes. We had a group of about 25 riders (WNYTR) and the owner of the trails would not give us any kind of discount, not even a crappy free map, that they charge $5.00 for. Bye the way, the maps are not very accurate either. There campground was okay, although the entrance is not very well marked. But, keep in mind there is no bath house or public rest room. The porta Johns were probably the cleanest I have ever been in. The Mine tour was okay, but you are literally only in the mine for maybe ten minutes. There were probably at least 30 other machines on the mine tour with us. Made for somewhat cramped quarters. There are many other better options for riding, it was not worth the 3 and a half hour ride to get there. I wont be back.... read more
