YOU'D BE BETTER OFF WALKING. I was talked into Prepaying for rides that were never picked up. I work for a production company and needed to book cars for two VERY important clients. I was walked through the process on the phone, and then was able to get any questions answered right away via text. I felt confident when I booked all of the rides, the morning came around and the cars never came, the phone was never answered (I have been trying for almost 3 hours), the text messages have not been answered, and my voicemails have not been returned. At first I was understanding, mistakes absolutely DO happen and even though this was a VIP client that ended up being picked up by a production assistant rather than a professional driver, I was more than happy to work it out, however, because they are still dodging my calls and texts AND had me prepay for all of my rides, I can't help but think this is a scam. Every time I need a ride I call upon Ladi at Taxi One!!! His vans are clean and he is always on time. His prices are reasonable. If you need a ride in the Hampton's Laudi is the first call you should make. read more

I only put in one star since there was no option for zero stars. NEVER use this taxi service. They never showed up to pick me up, despite confirming on line that morning. They never answered the phone when I called and never responded to multiple text message. While shooting a film in Amagansett over three weeks, I relied on Ladi for rides and was never disappointed. I was able to arrange early morning pickups the night before, as well as last minute rides. I was very impressed with the reliability and friendliness; Ladi is great. I was nervous about getting a cab in East Hampton because of all the terrible reviews, but we called Taxi One the night before and they quoted us a price ($48 to get 10 people to the Hampton Jitney station - a 2.8 mile ride), they showed up exactly on time and charged exactly that price. They were also very friendly and helped with all the luggage. read more

I agree with Lexi A -- RUDE & LATE. I had an appointment for a pickup at 5:20 this morning so I could catch a bus at 5:50. When I called them at 5:25 to see where the taxi was, they told me the driver had a flat tire. No call from them, or even an apology (he said they had tried to call me, but that clearly wasn't true). They also knew full well that I had to catch a bus because I had told them several times, and when I asked him how he was intending me to get there, the dispatcher kind of said "I don't know". I proper cab company would have at least sent a replacement, but this is clearly not a proper cab company. I have no intention of ever using TaxiONE again. Don't bother calling unless you enjoy being late. They arrived 45 minutes late to pick up because they "couldn't find the house" and despite me asking that they call if there was a problem they never did because "there was no problem" - "sometimes we just take a few minutes to find the house." And when I called all I got was an answering machine. And they will be the first to cry foul when competition comes to town. read more

Just missed my train back to New York because I used this company. I called them last night to make a reservation and all was well. Nobody showed up, nobody called, nobody picked up the phone, and I missed the last train for another four hours. Terrible! read more

TERRIBLE service! Booked a car at night for the next morning to go to work and the car never showed up. When you call them, you only get an answering service. I texted them to be replied that the car will be there in less than 10 minutes. It was a lie. I kept waiting. In fact, the car never showed up! They are completely unprofessional! NEVER use them! As you can see by many posts, it happens frequently that they just don't dare to show up! Next time, I will check Yelp before booking a taxi in East Hampton. read more

They never showed up, even though we booked in the morning for an evening round trip. They are happy to take all the details for the reservation but there is no fulfilment. When I called to check on the status of our ride I was told that she had just come on duty and had to call the driver(s?) and that she would call me back. She never did. read more

A disappointing experience! Emailed, texted and actually got a response that they would pick me up at a specific time. NO SHOW!! I had an appointment that was important that needed to be rearranged. Called at 4pm for a quick ride in East Hampton, said 15-20 mins, called at 4:30, said oh any minute now, is not 4:45, nada. This is why it is a sin that Uber is not allowed in East Hampton because this is always what you get, 15 years having a home out here and nothing has ever changed with the taxi service, they are horrendous and these guys are no different. read more

I'm surprised at the negative feedback this service has been receiving. I'm a resident of both Manhattan and East Hampton, and consequently, I use Taxi One frequently as a means of getting to and from the Jitney. I've always had a satisfactory if not pleasant experience when I call these guys. The dispatcher is always cordial. More, importantly the cabs are on time!! The drivers are local (idk why some people are saying they're not), and they know the back routes to and from town, which makes a huge difference out here on the Island. Also, while the fares are pretty standard between services, in my experience, Taxi One undercuts the competition. If your looking for a comparison to a really bad cab service, then just make one call to a service like Lindy's (who I used to use). The dispatchers are rude and dishonest. The drivers worse. These guys do it better and cheaper. Give Taxi One a chance. read more
