I've worked with Kristina for the past 6 years, which is why this experience was so surprising. This year, my tax situation was straightforward (W-2 only), so I filed on my own and did not require services. I communicated that clearly when her team reached out and also shared that I intended to return next year. At that point, I was explicitly told I would be **deleted from the system** and treated as a new client because I did not file with them this year, despite a 6 year client relationship. That included being placed on a waitlist, paying significantly higher fees, and no longer working with Kristina directly, but instead being reassigned to someone else on her team. I spoke with Kristina directly to better understand the decision, and she confirmed this is now standard policy. What made this particularly frustrating is that this is not a large corporate structure where policies are fixed or inflexible. This is her business, and these are policies that have been recently introduced and are fully within her control. Applying them this rigidly, without any consideration for a long-standing client relationship, felt unnecessary and reduced a long-term client relationship to a transaction. After 6 years of consistent business, being effectively reset after one year of not needing services is difficult to justify from a client perspective. This ultimately reflects poor relationship management. I would strongly recommend clarifying continuity expectations in advance, as prior client history ultimately carries no weight under this model. read more

Kristina has been doing my taxes for years now and I can't recommend her enough. Kristina on her team are so patient and professional and always answer any question I have. The process is just way more easier ever since I've been doing my taxes with Kristina. The stress of taxes has been lifted and I've been recommending her to all my family and friends because I trust her so much. read more

Kristina runs a Great Business. She understands the Entertainment Business, and is efficient and easy to work with in the modern busy world.

I had an easy tax situation (in my head was not so easy) but KD quickly hopped on a call and guided me on the best way to solve myself in just a few minutes to save me the money of having her do it. She did not even charge a consulting fee for her time (which she could have easily done). I had several other $750 quotes from other tax offices to solve this same problem that took her literally two minutes to chat me through. Now I know that when I do need professional tax services, I will be coming here! Honest business - very much recommend! read more

Kristina made it so easy for me to file my taxes this year! I started my current job during the pandemic virtually, so I never worked in the office I am assigned to which is in NJ. She helped me file as a non resident in NJ since I am currently working in LA, and she made it so simple to claim my money back. I was paying taxes to both CA and NJ the entire year and it was making me so depressed. Kristina took care of all the hassle and made sure that I was in good hands. She also helped me file an extension and made the process so seamless. She gave me a link to upload all my paperwork in a secure portal which I appreciated, and she gave me the results and e-filed to federal, NJ, and CA in just a matter of days. She gave me such a great return! Can't wait to have her help me next year!! read more

Kristina has been doing my taxes for two years and is absolutely incredible. She helps me find ways to optimize my tax saving throughout the year. She's very knowledgeable and thorough, so nothing is missed. The people here are a pleasure to work with and incredibly sincere. They helped me as I transitioned from filing as a sole proprietor to an s-corp. Made the process very painless and for a killer price. I highly recommend Taxes by KD, especially if you're in entertainment. read more

Kristina helped me file my taxes this year and I regret not using her in previous years! I made roughly the same amount of money year over year, but with Kristina's guidance itemizing my expenses, I owed 95% less to the IRS at this year's filing (I had been using Turbo Tax previously). Her web portal for sharing docs is easy to use, she handled just about everything, and she remained accessible all through the filing process and answered all of my questions quickly and clearly. My girlfriend and I have both seen great success with her, so we'll both be coming back next year. read more

Kristina is THE BEST person to do your taxes. She's helped me *tremendously* over the years through some big financial changes -- purchasing property, getting married, and opening a small business. Besides being super knowledgeable about everything tax (esp California-specific advantages), she's super responsive and extremely efficient. She's my go-to for any tax questions - personally and business-wise. I tell all my friends to use her!! read more

Kristina has been doing our taxes for the past four years and I truly don't know where we'd be without her. She is, without a doubt, AMAZING! So where to begin...We met her back in 2016 after finding an accountant on yelp who eventually led us to her. My partner and I showed up to her office with our tails between our legs. Not only was our business accounting a mess, but his personal taxes were an even greater disaster. She sat with us for what seemed like hours and provided her undivided attention. Kristina assured us she could help and sent us off with a list of homework, a lot of clarity, and best of all, peace of mind. Long story short...it is now 2020 and we seem to have a handle on things thanks to her. She makes herself available to us for any questions, is clear about pricing and VERY flexible with it, and is VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE about all things taxes. Kristina is a true professional and everyone should know about her. You know that hidden gem you found that you want to keep to yourself but you know the right thing to do is spread the word??? YEAH, THAT'S HER. read more

I would highly recommend Kristina ! She is knowledgeable, experienced, professional, and she makes sure her clients get the best service possible. read more

If you're even debating getting your taxes done, do them with Kristina. My husband and I have always used TurboTax for our taxes because we're a no-frills kind of family. However this year we had some complications (I had filled out my W-4 incorrectly) and we needed some professional help. We knew Kristina through a friend and decided to give it a try. Using Kristina turned out to be one of the best decisions we could have made. She got us on the right track in a short period of time (we were right up to the end of March) and she ended up being a time and money saver. She walked us through any questions we had (even the dumb little ones) and made it clear that there are things we can do this year to prevent owing as much next year. Kristina is super professional and speedy and is an expert in her field, and I recommend her very highly. I don't think we'll ever go back to TurboTax and we'll be seeing Kristina again next year. Even though we're on the West side and she's in Burbank, it's definitely worth the trip to use her during tax season. read more

I don't ever write reviews but reviews were the reason I chose this place and I was happy with my results. So here is my review... Kristina was wonderful!!! She was very thorough and professional when it came to filing my taxes. Everything was explained to me and she took her time. I was very nervous since it was my first time filing with her but she did an amazing job assuring me she was helping me as much as she can. I was definitely happy with my return and I will come back next year! I have already referred her to my family and friends! read more

I started using Kristina's services this year for my personal taxes. I was very impressed by her knowledge and consistent follow up with me and the CA FTB from March through October (had to file an extension). Though we didn't meet in person due to the ongoing pandemic, her communication was impeccable through phone and email. She was very easy to talk to, quick to respond, and incredibly helpful no matter how trivial or complex my questions were. She was very fairly priced and worth every penny especially considering this particularly stressful tax season. read more

Fast, friendly & efficient. Kristina is highly experienced & knowledgable. I would definitely recommend her to all my family and friends. It also helped that she has a kid friendly office so that my nieces were entertained while we worked on preparing my taxes. read more

Taxes by KD - Tax Services Near Me - Burbank, California

Been going to Kristina for many years now and my god she is the best tax preparer I've ever worked with. She spells everything out and makes sure I know what's going on with my return throughout the entire process. She always quotes me a price in the beginning of the meeting and that price sometimes varies depending on the complexity of my income stream but is always very reasonable for the amount of work she puts into my return. I recommend Kristina to everyone and anyone looking for an honest tax preparer! read more

I can't believe I'm so late to review. I went to Kristina in late March or early April '16. I was seeking a new tax service because I was unhappy with my previous service. I stumbled across Kristina on Yelp. She's helpful, gets straight to the point, and didn't make me feel like an idiot. I'm an artist and terrible with numbers - so all this tax jargon goes over my head. I highly recommend Kristina. read more

I have never done my taxes with KD but i did call her office and spoke with her inquiring on her rates to do my corporate taxes. The person who did mine last year created a messy situation because they did it wrong, but KD gave me good advice on how to remedy my situation. I appreciate it because she really didn't have to. read more

Called Kristina a couple of days ago. Let her know that I work 6 days a week and needed to get into see her on a Saturday morning. I was expecting to wait weeks but no, she came into her office an hour early today so that I could see her and get to work. I found an intelligent, pleasant, articulate young woman who communicated clearly with me and, who was able to get me in and out in a reasonable amount of time. She charges more than fairly and seems to know the tax business well. I am impressed. And pleased to be nearly finished with our taxes for this year. read more

This is not a drill. Kristina is FANTASTIC. I couldn't be happier. It's been less than 24 hours since our meeting and I've already referred her to a colleague in the film industry. Don't even know where to begin because I'm so speechless with my experience here! Went in with dread, expecting to have to pay taxes since that was the case last year with someone else I went to and the year before that with a different person as well. To my surprise, not only did I not have to pay but I got quite an amazing refund! Kristina really knows her stuff, she even felt that my taxes from the previous 2yrs needed amending and she fixed those and I got a large refund for each of those amended years as well!! So impressed by her professionalism, knowledge, and experience, she really knows everything about taxes. To top everything off her prices are very reasonable and she is really sweet and patient and answered all my questions and explained some laws to help me understand my taxes and refund. Would definitely recommend her to family and friends! Thanks Kristina! read more
