After reviewing the tax returns, Palmer Tax Group advised that they could potentially recover approximately one-third of the taxes previously paid -- about $30,000. We agreed to a fee of $7,000 each, with the understanding that they would charge half ($3,500 each) upfront and the remaining half only after we received the tax recovery from the IRS. However, contrary to our agreement, Palmer Tax Group charged the full amount upfront. We immediately complained, and they assured us the work would be completed quickly. Over the next several years, we remained in contact with Mr. Palmer and his associates. Eventually, after many delays, he agreed to issue a partial refund of $2,500, which was paid -- but then he stopped further payments.
