Now, just because my grandfather used them isn't reason enough for me, but once I started working in high school, I realized why granddad used them. First, the service is excellent. Many of the agents have been there for decades, so there's a sort of personal connection there that I just wouldn't get with an HR Block-type firm. And given that they're a Michigan institution, their first priority seems to be service, not jacking up prices so high that they put a large dent in your returns. The agent determines how much your return costs; after developing relationships with our agents over the years, the cost of our returns has gone down, not up! I guess it's this kind of ethic that keeps me coming back; they THANK me for coming back each year, not only verbally, but financially as well. That's reason enough for me! Oh, and free coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and cookies doesn't hurt either.

I have had my taxes done in the past by Deloitte, Jackson Hewitt, H&R and have even done them myself on TurboTax for a few years. That is until I took my TurboTax returns that I had filled out myself back in 2017, though not yet submitted to give to Patrick to see if he was able to get me back an additional amount more, he was able to get back a decent amount more, all the while staying conservative, per my request. I had promised him I would switch to him if he could get me more than I could on my own. He delivered.
