I always have that lingering belief I can do better, that I can get a better price. Throughout the years I have enjoyed this CPA immensely she is honest, frank and doesn't make me feel like I have to go to her every year, which I have been. Some years, I don't even talk to her I just drop off my paperwork for my taxes if I don't have any questions. When I gather my paperwork together, it is all nice and neat and in order, and I complete all the applicable other paperwork. I have a couple of rentals so my taxes probably aren't the simplest that there is. For the past 2 years I have been looking around to see what other Tax services may have to offer. I always come back to her regarding costs, reliability and convenience. Last year, during tax time I was noticing chatter on our neighborhood social site and they were talking about tax accountants, it made me cringe looking at what people were saying regarding prices and the service that they were receiving. I even did a couple of online searches looking for a Tax Accountants but to no avail. They either couldn't do it, or the prices were so much more than what I currently pay.

He began charging me from the minute I walked in the door. Charges more than most lawyers! The good news is they are thorough. They will go overboard in typing up letters and tax charts, etc. Also, he did lower my rate twice but still paid twice the amount of my last return.

I can't speak for all of TAP, but I would not recommend working with Pam Boyce…read more I hired her to handle my mom's final tax return and her estate's taxes. I had no experience handling an estate, which is why I hired a professional. The taxes prepared by Pam had several errors, and her communication was poor. She was unreachable for several weeks in January, when the estate taxes were due, causing me a lot of stress and leading me to make a time-consuming error. Even paying for her services was like pulling teeth. The best thing about this experience is that it is now over. I will not be working with Pam or TAP again.

I was forced to find someone immediately because I needed my taxes done and a loan for my small business. This gentleman stepped in and saved the day. Prior to that I have been doing my QuickBooks myself. To say I was doing them wrong would be an understatement with his help my immediate problem was resolved. Don't! Don't! Don't! Must read entire review!! This guy is a straight up liar, procrastinator,…read morescam artist.. please for the life of you guys.. use my experience with this horrific company and just don't. Whatever his reasoning is below is a sham. He should be embarrassed.. If I can leave a zero I would. I was in dire need of an accountant. I had not completed my returns in a few years after splitting up from my spouse. Finally I reached out to Christian for assistance. I selected him because I wanted to give him some help on Yelp for being a small business owner who had hardly any ratings. He had this speech impediment that struck at my heart strings and I just wanted to give him a chance. Good God has it been a terrible experience since then. I finally got to a point where I am able to purchase a house and the ONLY thing at this point was my tax returns. I work in sales so it takes a while to get to a point where you make enough in commissions that you can show a profit to be able to buy a house. Anyway, it took him over TWO YEARS to do simple tax returns. TWO YEARS! At this point, I'm invested in this foolishness. I just wanted this to be done. During this course, of course, interest rates gone up A LOT!!! Anytime I asked him to fix anything it would take a month to get them back. I think he does that so he can scan us out of money pretending that he was working soooo hard on these files. The $1440 was already inputted into the QuickBooks supposedly.. smh.. the more I think about this, the more I get upset because of his shady practices. It's unbelievable. He took me on for a ride, didn't deliver, took my money, had the lamest excuses why he could not do anything on time or a timely fashion. Shame in him! The supposedly e-filed them. He never once checked to see if the IRS accepted the forms. He assumed that it was accepted but two bounced back. He charged me $1440 for the returns. Which I paid. A couple of months later, I received a crazy high IRS bill when it was supposed to be nothing, I mean this bill is so high, it is the cost of a brand new car. I called Christian and we stayed had to call the IRS.. that was less than one hour. In this call, we found out two of the returns bounced back. To his surprise, from his lack of work, I needed to snail mail my return, and he needed to take my ex spouse off one of them. I saw him play with the numbers on a zoom call adding and removing my ex-spouse in under five minutes. I by is he trying to charge me about her $1500 for all this. So for $1440 you do four tax returns and then now $1500 for a quick one hour phone call and simple removal of a person?? The numbers aren't adding up. It's obvious at this point, he doesn't care about this (me) client. He's slow played me for two darn years and still hasn't gotten it correct. I texted him about how ridiculous this was and how shady his business practice is and you know what he did?? He put his wife on the phone and she started talking mad sh*t to me. He literally sicked his wife on me. She had the audacity to tell me I should have done my taxes. Uhm hello, that why I hired you guys. Not to waste two years of my life hoping this joker would do his job only to take me for my money and never ever delivering on his end. During the two years whenever I asked for him to call me or the status of my returns, he always had an excuse either he was sick, his wife was sick, his kids were sick, or back all over again, or in the hospital or he's in school, or the funny excuse was he was at his real job. I said real job?? I thought he was an accountant?? His wife said he works somewhere as an accountant. He doesn't have his own practice. So what has he been doing these past two years?? Pretending to be his own company?? It doesn't make any sense.. I still don't have my missing two tax returns and he g wants to charge me an extra amount for work he's already completed. People if you are reading this... don't use him. I literally wasted two years. I paid him already for nothing essentially. I have to find a new accountant and pay them to do the work he supposedly did already. So I'm paying double either way but I will not pay THIS man twice who obviously sat on my returns for two years. If I went along with him, I'd be eating probably another two more years. This is ridiculous!!!!

This is the most unprofessional firm I have ever worked with. I was with Hale and Associates when…read morethey merged firms and had nothing but negative experiences for the next 3 years that followed before ultimately parting ways. After the merge, the rates for my personal and corporate returns, quarterly filings and everything were raised exponentially without ever telling me there would be a price increase. They just started sending bills at a much higher rate. Their bills are also not itemized, so you never really know what you are paying for. They do not care about their clients at all and are purely transaction. They will charge you for every single question you ask or email you send. I'm sorry, but if I am going to trust someone with such an important aspect of my business, I should be able to ask my CPA tax related questions throughout the year. Also, multiple times they sent bills to an old address that I never had while working with them and then years later when they realized, they tried to charge me years worth of interest on top of the bills. I can't pay bills I never received and why did it take them over a year to realize I had an outstanding bill? I paid the invoices the very day it was brought to my attention. Then 6 months later, I was sent another bill (with more interest tacked on) for the invoice I had already paid and received payment confirmation for. Why would I continue to trust my corporate and personal taxes with a firm that can't even manage their own billing department. Also, after the merge, my CPA of years was no longer my preparer during tax season. I would get emails from multiple random Shannon & Associate employees that I have never met. No introduction, no explanation as to why they were reaching out, just requests for sensitive documents from people I had never heard of. This might not have been a red flag, but when you have 5 or 6 different people emailing you about different aspects of your tax filings, there are too many hands in the cookie jar and it's a recipe for errors. Also, you would think that with this many people involved, their filings would be quick, but they were always down to the wire with deadlines. They are rude, unprofessional, and only care about money. Also, Julie Campbell who left a five star review for them on google is an employee. Having employees leave positive comments to offset the truthful negative reviews should tell you everything you need to know about this firm.
