My husband and I own a boutique advertising agency and have been clients of Profitwise for a little…read moreover two years now. I can't say enough great things about Dave Heistein and the entire Profitwise team -- they have been an absolutely fantastic partner and have helped us to better manage our business finances, bookkeeping, and personal stuff too. Profitwise totally streamlined our payroll and helped to alleviate my burden dealing with it, which had been amazing. They also got us transitioned to Quickbooks Online which has been huge for us! During our meetings with Dave he pulls up our books, answers any (and all) of my questions and can make needed adjustments right then and there. I also really appreciated their on-boarding process. From our initial meeting where Dave gave us a detailed overview of all their services to the initial setup. We felt very taken care of. As an someone who works in the marketing/advertising world I also appreciated the thoughtful collateral that was sent to us as part of being a new client. They are also very transparent with their pricing which I really value. If you're looking for a true partner to make your life easier when it comes to accounting, bookkeeping, taxes, and more -- Profitwise is the team for you. I'm so very grateful to work with them!

I have an IT consulting business with about 35 employees. I've gone through what I think is the…read morenormal progression of book keeping over the years starting with myself doing it all in Quickbooks to hiring an outside book keeper to,finally, hiring Profitwise. They do it all for me - payroll, invoicing, reconciliation, tax filings, and more. It is the best decision I ever made. I don't have to worry, our clients get their invoices more timely, less money leakage to missed tax filings/late invoices, and work with multiple states on taxes. I get to spend more time doing my actual work! They are very responsive and don't let tasks drop. Somehow they have a system for keeping 10 balls in the air at the same time and not letting any of them drop. Highly recommend!

I've used this firm for three years and the 2025 cycle has been a mess. I uploaded my business…read moredocuments in February and paid the invoice the same week. The draft came back with errors, I sent corrections on March 5, and then I spent months chasing them: emails on 3/16, 3/28 and 4/27 with no reply, an auto-reply saying they couldn't address anything "not related to 2025 taxes," and a $200 rush-fee warning while they were the ones holding my return. On our May 8 call they told me the corrections were done. In September the portal still had the untouched February draft. The corrected business return finally showed up on September 24, the day before their own deadline for my personal documents. The personal return they prepared in October had three errors we caught ourselves, including deductions for things we never paid, and it showed a balance due when the correct result is a refund. When we asked them to fix it and file separately, the office suggested my wife file as Head of Household, which a married couple living together can't do. Since then, two weeks of silence on two follow-ups, while my wife's student-loan deadline came and went. What bothers me most is that there was no guidance at any point. They prepared a joint return by default without ever asking about our situation. With my wife's student loans on an income-driven plan, filing separately was the better choice for us by a wide margin, and we only figured that out on our own. Nobody asked a question, nobody made a recommendation. They processed the paperwork, and not well. I'll gladly update this if they finish the returns and make it right.

I'm surprised no one added this business yet in this area. And considering taxes are due in a few…read moredays, I'm even more surprised! Calling ahead of time or reserving an appointment online was important in being able to sit down with someone. I am unsure if they allow walk-ins during peak season - which is now. I got to talk with Jacqueline about my really simple tax situation but complicated. Honestly I expected her to give me the answer within 2 minutes and I'd be out of there. But she seemed not so confident and I was getting a little frustrated that she wouldn't give me a clear answer. Eventually I had to draw it out of her so that I could choose the simple option of "independent" or "dependent and walk away with a free consultation. It was good she told me to just finish my taxes online and save the $39 federal and $39 state fees. This seems a little steep, but I guess some people have really confusing taxes with big returns. Anyway, I'm glad I walked out without paying a dime. For everyone: their consultation is free, and then you choose if you want to do your taxes with them! I suggest if you're a college student or have easy taxes - just do it alone (or call TurboTax and talk to someone for free!). It's not worth coming in unless you have really weird taxes with lots of digits to play with. Or live right next door to it, which is giving away too much information about myself. Tip: If you file with H&R, they do a "second glance" check for free after you file! Take advantage of that! :) Mehs. I'm sure other tax professionals there would have been very helpful (they seemed like they'd know what they were doing), maybe next time I'll choose someone else...

Absolutely do not waste your time here. I made an appointment in advance to have an IRS letter…read morereviewed. When I showed up, the only people who came to work that day were the two folks running the front desk (they were lovely and did their best to be helpful). Not a single tax professional showed up for work despite being scheduled and having appointments on the books. I sat around for 45 minutes while the ladies at the front desk called various employees who were scheduled and should have been at work including the man I had an appointment with. They scanned my paperwork to another office that was completely unhelpful and offered no guidance, advice, or information. I walked out an hour later with zero advice, zero support, and zero next steps. An hour of my life I will never get back.
