Terrific pasta and parmigiana
We were led by the reviews to this tiny taverna with a nice selection of pasta and sauces to choose from. Our selections were delicious - tonnarello al cinghiale and casareccia alla amatriciana. The pasta (made in house) was a perfect al dente and the sauces were rich and tasty. However, we thought that the pasta portion was just a little light, our pastas were only €10, but we would rather have paid a couple of extra € and received some more pasta. We were also a little surprised by the €1 per person coperto (cover charge) since the service is no-frills - you order and collect your meal from the counter and receive plastic cutlery. And you pay for water - however we did get some bread. We ordered a melanzane parmigiana con burrata to go (€8 plus another €1 coperto, but some bread included) and at first glance it was unimpressive. It was the smallest parmigiana we have ever seen. However when we tried it later - it was amazing. The sauce was flavoursome and rich - it probably the best parmigiana we have ever eaten. So whilst I'll give this taverna full marks for quality and flavour, I'm not entirely sure about the value proposition. read more
