This is by far the best tattoo parlor that I've encountered. The environment is super relaxed, the store is SUPER clean, and the artists take care of their customers by any means, and their work is phenomenal (look at their instagram). I've seen them stay open until 4 in the morning because when they promise their client they'll get it done they make sure everyone is taken care of. My recent piece was inspired by my new born son's toy that he sleeps with and I wanted it too look like a photo realistic marshmallow and they nailed it! Highly highly recommend this place! read more

Kevin was AWESOME...7 hour session in one sitting. He took his time, took suggestions from a mentor, polite, studied, basically went out of his way. I'm totally stoked and am thinking of my next tattoo. Definitely get what you pay for and more.. read more

I would like to say thank you to Jake and all the artist @ Tatty McTats for allowing me to come into your shop and host a painting class. The ladies had a great time making their own signs and seeing all the art on the walls. Environment was very clean, easy to find and a chill vibe. read more

I have been wanting a tattoo for a while but I was unsure of who could pull it off for me. My friend Recommended me to Austin who works here. He is an amazing artist with a creative mind. He took what I originally had in mind to a WHOLE different level. I am in LOVE with my tattoo. I can't stop looking at it. The shop is comfortable with jammin music. Austin is a one of a kind tattoo artist. If he sees that something would look way better or have an idea, he'll present it to you. He's an awesome person and tattoo artist. I could write forever about his magnificent work. I give him 10 stars. Thank you thank you thank you Tatty McTats!! -Joi read more

I saw a ton of the great work some of these artists can do so I decided to get work done here while I was on vacation. Unfortunately I did not have a good experience with this place. It was impossible to get ahold of them, you can't pay using a credit card. The shop itself is actually really hard to find because the address on Yelp is incorrect. A few days after I got my tattoo I noticed that I have smudging.. giving two stars because when we finally got there the staff was very nice and seemed very professional. I now have to go to a tattoo shop in my home town to get it fixed.. read more

I was referred to this tattoo shop from a friend and I decided to come in with my mom and aunt. We all wanted memorial tattoos for my sister who had passed away. We all 3 got different tattoos. And I am so amazed and in love with the work. Alex worked on me and he listened to exactly what I wanted. He was thorough and gentle. The shop was immaculate, which is a very big deal to me. Alex and I talked the entire time I was being worked on and the whole tattooing process just flew by because I was having such a good time. I will absolutely come back. 1000% recommend! read more

I should have posted this months ago, shame on me, but now that shops are going to open up soon, I wanted to make sure I posted so everyone knows where to go to get their artwork!! Kevin at Tatty McTats did this tattoo for me. I showed him real photos of my brother and I as kids and told him I wanted baby Tigger and Happy Feet to represent me and my brother. He brought me to tears with his work. I seriously shed tears because his work was so amazing and he brought life to the tattoo like no one else could. I never knew a tat could have life beyond the drawing. He is my forever artist and I'm so grateful for what he did. He has such amazing energy that makes you feel comfortable and at ease. It was such a great time! I can't say it enough but THANK YOU KEVIN, and I'm so sorry for the delay in my posting. I can't wait to go back to get more! No need to look anywhere else! Once they are open, get yourself in! read more

Non-stop world traveler so it is really hard to stick with one artists. I have gotten tats from all around the world. I get a vibe when it come to artist, there is a connection you feel right away. Well after driving around San Diego yesterday I got the vibe from bobby Flores at Ink Pushers. From the moment I walk in I was treated like a good customer and not some person they could slam. Most shops today treat you like they are doing you a favor, not Bobby, and not Ink Pushers. I guess the most amazing thing yesterday was Bobby's ability to take what I had in my head and free handed it on to the canvas. I was completely satisfied with the results and the coloring is some of the best I seen. Bobby, your a master bro, I do appreciate the time you spent on this project. read more

I went to this tattoo parlor today on Friday the 13th for the flash sale. I love how many options they gave the customers to choose from. I really loved how my Sally tattoo came out. My friend and I shop hopped and ended up coming back to get another tattoo. I got a different artist and the work was beautiful. This shop is very clean and organized. The staff are friendly and very professional. I will definitely be referring friends and family here as well as coming back. Thank you for an amazing experience. read more

10/10 recommend these guys for tattoos! The artist Jacob who has helped my girlfriend and I the last few times we've been in here is amazing! He has a very light hand for anybody who is worried about having a heavy handed artist. His work is amazing and we both get the most complements on the tattoos he does for us! We will always be a returning customer! Thank you Jacob for all you do! You have an incredible talent and we appreciate you! read more

My artist Austin- He's funny professional and takes his work seriously. Austin took on a big project with me to do a cover up that was extremely important for me and I couldn't be more thankful for the time dedication and hard work he put in on this tattoo. We sat 7 hrs for my first session and the detail in his work just blows my mind. Not only that everyone in the tattoo shop is so friendly and that made it that more comfortable to sit for that long of a time because most tattoo shops I've been to people feel intimidating. My daughter recommended Jacob to do my tattoo just like hers, even in the same spot. But trying to get a hold of him is like pulling teeth let alone trying to get him to do a tattoo even worse!! So he recommended that I go to Luis since he's sooo busy. And Luis is great at writing he said. So I did, picture is attached, mine is the bottom one done September 2018. Look at the feathers, the lines, the letters even look horrible, everyone asks what's that say?? Doesn't even look like my daughters very disappointed with it. I definitely would not recommend Luis, not even sure about recommending Jacob since you can never get ahold of him, unless you book him a year in advance. read more

So I got my tattoo done here on May 26th 2012., it is now October 15th 2012. Almost 5 months ago and the tattoo STILL looks messed up so it's not "still healing" as they tried to tell me. *see picture I just took today* I went to other shops and they all told me that this is the way my tat is going to look, it's done healing and it healed this way because the guy who did it, Pete, messed it up. The skin looks wrinkled and popped out like a scar. you can physically feel the tattoo as you run your finger over it. I've gotten plenty of other tattoos and this has never ever happened. It's so disappointing that this "artwork" came from a shop.. Because judging from the looks of it, it looks like a tattoo I got in jail or from a guy's garage. I don't know if the other tattoo artists are as bad at Pete so I won't say don't come to this shop.. But DO NOT GET TATTED BY PETE. read more

Updating this review since I was recently done by Mr. Austin! He did an amazing job on my Harry Potter tattoo. Will be coming to him for my next one!! He was very gentle, usually I bruise pretty easily, but I haven't done that yet for this one!!!! He was very patient with how all over the place I was in making a decision and even gave me an extremely great deal on my tattoo since I had been coming here previously. That made me feel like he valued the fact I like to stick to one shop only. He was very friendly and very sweet. Totally coming back to him for the half sleeve I want done. read more

So. I got my first tattoo by Mr. Chance on my 18th birthday, it was a simple two stars intertwined. Fastforward a few years later, I am now pretty tattooed, and continuing. Chance and I decided to start up my sleeve a few years back, but we never got around to it until this past month. I moved to Seattle, so the only time we can work on it is when I come to visit and Chance makes sure that He has a spot for me. I now have the most BEAUTIFUL half sleeve (soon to be full) that I have ever seen. I love it more than I love a lot of things :] Chance is not only great at customer service, but he is an AMAZING artist, mentor and friend. When i say mentor, its not like he is teaching me to tattoo, I say mentor as in, he is someone that I look up to. He is full of wisdom, and knowledge, and when I am in town, cupcakes :] IF you are looking for not only a quality tattoo, but a tattoo that is done with charisma, passion, and detail, Chance is your man :] Love you chancey! read more

this shop is the best! the people that work there are friendly and nice and really funny. they make the whole tattooing experience worth it. Jacob runs a very professional and awesome business. I appreciate that they have fun with flash events and have some ultra talented people. I have only gone to flash events but after going to Tatty McTats, I would consider their expertise for my next tattoo design. shout out to Alex for some of the cleanest lines, professional, and informative. The other tattoo artists I have talked to about Flash events have been pretty bitter about the event BUT Jacob, Alex, Sol, and everyone else had such a positive vibe even for being open from 9am to past closing. They were determined to accommodate everyone that showed up. I can't say how much I love them! I am definitely going back for another one and HIGHLY suggest you do toooooooo! read more

I've gotten multiple tattoos here when they were located on university and I absolutely loved them. Unfortunately when they moved to El Cajon, I came across an artist named Kevin. We booked a tattoo and talked about prices and set a date for my tattoo. I had to cancel a little over a week in advance due to me finding out I'm pregnant. Messaged him and told him and was told I'd be getting a response back about a refund for my deposit. Nothing for days, when I came to the shop to ask he then tells me they're non refundable and that he can reschedule. Me being pregnant obviously I do not want to schedule months in advance and that he will not he giving me a deposit back. When I asked why it wasn't specified when I 1st reached out to him he then replied with "100 ain't shit to me, I'll be back" proceeded to walk away laughing with an attitude. He never returned back. I will never book or come back to this place because of his attitude and demeanor. As my friend was in for an appointment he proceeded to lock the door from the inside preventing anyone to come in, as a female she felt very uncomfortable and asked him to unlock the door because she did not want to proceed any further with him. Absolutely disgusting and unprofessional. read more

I went in this past week for a quick fix to my earrings that were stuck on a plastic backing for months! The piercer was nice but I was very disappointed that I left to go get some cash out of an ATM, which their machine was not working, and they are switching to cash only, not helpful for most of us that don't carry cash, regardless she threw away my earrings into the sharp medical used needle bin! She did not even ask me if I wanted them back, she just assumed I didn't want them because I wanted the earrings out of my ear! The earrings were small but were sterling silver opal and had been given to me by a sick relative on an American Indian reservation, she took my number down but that was days ago, I'm sure I won't be getting them back but I was very upset she didn't even ask if I wanted to keep them! Not thinking at all! August 25th Shop manager left me a text message to call him and with the picture of my earrings!! He pulled them out of the bin and was very apologetic, I understand and I am grateful for the return of my earrings, very nice of him to do so!! read more

Best tattoo shop around. Not only was the tattoo I recieved flawless but the overall shop vibes are great. Jacob gave me the tattoo and he is meticulous and a genuinely nice guy. We started really early and when each of the other artists arrived they came over, welcomed me, and were almost as excited about it as I was. This is a shop where the artists get along, create a great atmosphere, and are striving to do the best work possible. I plan on returning for many tattoos in the future. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. First the shop is ill of amazing people. It's like you are hanging out with your friends when you walk in. Second the shop is clean and everyone there is on top of everything staying clean. (Super important in a tattoo shop). My tattoo, a realistic baby sea turtle was done by Kyle (soulcollector87 on Instagram) in two sessions. Before I even went in for the tattoo we had a consult and came up with the perfect design. After session number one I was very happy with my tattoo. Kyle did a great job. He took his time to make sure the turtle looked realistic. We set up an appointment to do touchups once the tattoo was healed. After session number two...I have no words. The turtle is absolutely perfect. It's beautiful. I'm in LOVE! Kyle added even more detail and transformed the turtle into the most amazing piece of artwork. The detail is incredible. I'm ecstatic! I will 1000% be coming back to this shop and to Kyle for future work. read more

If you dont read all of this review at least read this, Austin takes so much pride in his art that you will get nothing but perfection and a great experience if you go to him! I actually won 1st place in a horror tattoo giveaway he wad hosting and we decided on creating a portrait of Chucky and Tiffany. The entire tattoo took about 10 hours and i am not joking when i say this is the least painful of any other tattoos i have gotten and they are all alot smaller. On top of creating the best portrait i have ever seen he is such a good guy, i will not be going to any other artist from now on. I felt completely at home and he made the entire experience as fun as possible , which is what sets him apart from other artists. If you need portraits or anything else go to him!!! read more

Let me start by saying that Genghis is seriously amazing. Came in for my very first tattoo and she took excellent care of me from consultation to final product. I brought her a design I've loved for years, and she put her own style on it while keeping the original design intact. It turned out better than I could have hoped for! I've been meaning to write this for awhile. I started a sleeve with a artist that worked here. The artist has left that shop and I decided I no longer wanted to work with the artist because he was a scum bag. I then asked Jacob if it was against tattoo code or something for him to finish my sleeve. He said no and he would help me. He then took weeks to reply and kept stringing me along for over a month. He made me drive 35 mins to take a picture of my arm. Briefly ask me what i wanted then shuffle me out the door. He didn't take a outline of my arm or measure. Then when i sent him referance pictures he told me they weren't detailed enough. I have all the screenshots of how hard it was to try and get anything confirmed. I was nothing but respectful and just wanted to finish my sleeve. If he couldn't do it or didn't want to he had plenty of time to tell me. I really liked this shop for its cook atmosphere and i thought everyone here was super chill. I have multiple pieces from them. This experience with jacob has left a bad taste in my mouth. A friend of mines told me how he stood her up or was late to appointments. read more
