Got a tiger and bear tattoo done by Julianna. The amount of time and detail she put into my tattoo I'm really happy with. She's very talented, easy to talk to, and super chill. Every time I walk into the shop, I always feel welcomed. Shop energy is super chill and got good music playing. Overall experience is a 5 star and I definitely recommend coming here. read more

I love this shop. Came in for my first tattoo and I love the way it came out. It was exactly what I asked for plus some add ins that made it that much better. Julianna, the owner, did the tattoo and she is so knowledgeable and had great input which was perfect for me since it was my first time. Everyone in the shop is super friendly, the shop itself is super clean, and the atmosphere is immaculate. 10/10 recomend! read more

I went to Overground to get my very first tattoo and I cannot say enough how amazing of an experience it was. Julianna was my artist and she was knowledgeable, funny, comforting (I was a bit nervous) she did an amazing job with sketching and the actual tattoo portion. I am already thinking about my next tattoo! The shop was so clean, welcoming and the perfect place to relax while going through the experience. I would 100% recommend Overground to anyone looking for a new tattoo shop!! read more

Best tattoo shop in East County by far I wouldn't come anywhere else. I also would recommend it to anyone and everyone looking to get tattooed very clean, very friendly, extremely professional. read more

Very clean shop. Super kind artists. Quality work. Recently moved to the east county and my usual artist in San Diego moved out of state. My initial artist here left, but I found Dan and he's great! He understood what I wanted and made it better with his own artistic spin. He made sure I approved everything prior to my appointment date. read more

Got my first tattoo done without doing the necessary research and ended up with something that was not even close to what I wanted. I told Dan about my experience and he took my sample picture and completely transformed my tattoo. The shop is super clean and all the staff is friendly. I won't be going anywhere else for any of the tattoos I want in the near future, and I plan to get many more. read more

Julianna is an awesome person and that really comes out in her work. She really has a passion for tattooing and it shows. Great quality and detail over a variety of styles. Very professional setup and advice. The time flys right by because I always have a blast just chatting with her. She has a light touch and great control. I am so glad that my cousin recommended her. I will be back often! read more

This shop changed my views on shops! The owner is awesome, she runs a tight ship and does great work! Everyone else in the shop is talented and professional and welcoming as well, they make you feel comfortable and confident in their art and what you're getting. But really this review is for austin! He's incredible, professional and very creative in his designs. He really listens to his clients and makes sure he's doing what you want and what makes you happy, highly recommend! read more

I was stood up by my artist Miguel, mtsoultattoos on insta. He ignored my calls and the calls of the artist who was in the shop. I didn't get a response until 40 minutes after my appointment to let me know he wasn't coming. He promised to send my deposit back, then proceeded to ignore my messages and calls for days when I asked for it. Tried to be patient and chill but I dont have time to play week long games for my deposit. I had to contact the shop owner Julianna just to schedule a pick up for the deposit in person from the shop. She was wonderful and understanding, which is why this review is 2 stars instead of the zero Miguel deserves. He is childish and I will be letting everyone I know in the tattoo community not to go near him. I will update if I still don't get my deposit on the day I have planned. Cool shop, sketchy artist. Overall, he shouldn't be tattooing if he fucks over clients. read more

I have been out to Overground twice now and have an upcoming appointment for my third piece of Overground artwork. I have never felt uncomfortable or out of place like I have at other shops. I love the flexibility provided by the hours and will continue to bring my business here! Thanks guys! read more

Julianna is amazing! I got referred to her from a friend and I haven't been disappointed! We are currently working on correcting my forearm tattoo that is 5 years old from a different artist because my line work and coloring was horrendous, she explained that every person is different on how their skin takes ink and how different machines/speeds may work better for each individual. I really enjoyed the education and explanation of everything and happy to have found an artist that takes the time to notice what works for each individual, because everyone's skin is different and no one person heals the same. The other staff and artist are friendly and welcoming also. Definitely love the shop and atmosphere. read more

Ms Justo is BOMB! I bought a deal a while ago from i want to say Groupon, but don't quote me. It more of like an interview because i had some work i needed finished. Shop is very clean. Julianna is skilled and knowledgeable. We worked together and she put my ideas into a original tattoo. All the work has been nothing short of amazing. I highly recommend her and the shop. read more

First of all, Julianna is so fun and professional! Her shop is always clean and has a laid back, comfortable feel. She keeps the AC cranking... who wants a hot tattoo? You can tell right off the bat that she's passionate about art, and truly cares about the work she creates. She'll never make you feel like you have a dumb idea, and will somehow always put your tattoo together perfectly making your vision come to life. The other artist in the shop are super nice as well. And it's Just all around a great experience. I highly recommend! read more

I've had a few other tattoo artists, and Ms. Justo is hands down not only the most professional I've encountered, but innately the most talented as well... it's crazy how fast she can whip some stuff up! Aside from that, I've been to other places that places that run you through a gauntlet for weeks or months before you ever even see the chair... here the focus is on your *tattoo*. The shop is bright, clean, and definitely the most welcoming I've been to! What I love most about her is that she gets straight to the point and does EXCELLENT work in an amazingly short amount of time-- She doesn't take longer or try to modify your piece just to get more money out of you. She truly enjoys what she does, and if you'd like to enjoy your tattoo for a long, long, time, you just GOTTA come here! read more

What can I say, Julianna was amazing! She was very funny and laid back but knew what she was doing. I'm kind of a wuss when it comes to tattoos but how she did it it was very painless! Best tattoo experience ever. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! read more

Juliana is amazing. From her personality, to her prices, to her attention to detail. My wife & I both had work done by her. When ever we go back to SD, believe we will be getting another session in with her. I still have about 6 hours of time left, & am out of the state, & she is going to honor it once I get back in town. Juliana & the shop itself are both amazing. read more

As a tattoo newbie at age 64 I was a little apprehensive. Made an appointment with Thomas and he totally kicked-ass. Answered all my questions without making me feel like a total dork, did the ink perfect, and made me feel relaxed in their very clean shop. He also gave me a pretty good break on the time charged for his work. I could not be more satisfied. I love my tattoo. The only problem I can think of is that now I want more! read more

I went in with my girlfriend looking to get inked, Chris sellers was the my artist with out hesitation he asked what we wanted since we didn't have appointments we just walked in and he still was able to ink us both, I had a great experience this was my second tattoo from Chris and my girlfriends first and she said that she's only coming to him now, he has a great eye for ink, I came with a pic and he tweaked it to make it more "me" so that only I have this tattoo, both my girlfriend and I tats turned out amazing, he is by far the best! My first visit here I worked with Juliana. She was very nice, paid close attention to what I was looking to get done. I had a rough draft and wanted her to round it out a bit, which she did to perfection. I was very pleased with her work and everything about her was very professional. When I decided it was time for some more work, I again called. Juliana was not able to do the work this time but I had the opportunity to work with Chris, and found him extremely professional and caring as well. We spent time together working out the exact details of what I was looking for and he definitely got it right. The shop is clean and well kept. It is definitely my first call for new work. read more

Overground Tattoo is a decent shop hidden in an industrial area of El Cajon. There have been a lot of staffing changes over the past few years it's hard to keep track of where the artists go. But makes you wonder why so many have been in and out in such little time. Haven't been back in a long time so I don't know what it's like now read more

I gotta say, best tattoo shop experience in a long time. I went to overground tattoo for the first time to get a tattoo with my wife for our anniversary. I have many tattoos so I wasn't worried but it was my wife's first!! I must say that overground tattoo was very very friendly and not judgmental at all. I've been to many other shops and right off the back they were for some reason rude! Why not sure . Anyways Juliana the owner was great with getting us exactly what we needed. She set us up with her artist, first Maurice who was very nice and did a great job. After a few weeks we needed a touch up due to we chose finger tattoos which we all know can be difficult. With no hesitation Juliana got us back in with her other artist Adrian. He was more than friendly and I felt like he was one of the family , above all my wife Jennifer was very pleased with her experience. Thanx overground tattoo and thank you Adrian for being awesome. read more

Was really looking forward to getting a tattoo that meant a lot to me, but it didn't exactly come out the way that I wanted to. Let me rewind to my pre appointment experience: I bought a voucher from Living Social, and when I called, the lady was very nice on the phone, and got me into an appointment within two weeks, which is good, considering I had a 'coupon'. When I went in, the guy at the front desk was very antisocial and didn't really greet me, which was weird because the lady that I talked to was so nice. My tattoo artist Chris, however, was very nice which you don't get a lot of from tattoo artists. I bought the $45 dollars for a one hour session, but my tattoo was so simple that it only took about 10 minutes. I felt like it was a little rushed, and with 50 minutes left over, I felt like I wasted my money and he didn't ask if I wanted something else done to use up the time. The voucher also came with tattoo wax and it was never offered to me. Chris told me that if I had any issues with my tattoo, I could call to get it fixed... I noted that in my head. Even though it was a quick tattoo, it seemed like it looked perfect. As it healed, however, there were many imperfections as the lines on my cross weren't straight and some areas were lighter than others. Remembering that he said I could call to get it fixed, I called and the same lady answers the phone, however, when I told her I had an issue with my tattoo, it seems she was pretty annoyed. When I talked to Chris, he sounded pretty annoyed as well, and seemed a little too busy to schedule another appointment, as our schedules wouldn't match up, so I gave up. I'm just going to get it covered up because instead of being a tattoo that meant a lot to me, it's imperfect so I'm not really feeling it anymore. I'd much rather go somewhere else that'll actually take their time giving me a tattoo and use up the whole hour, or at least offer me something else to get my moneys worth, even if I bought it with a coupon. The only reason why I'm giving 3 stars is because everyone was nice (except for the receptionist when I walked it) and it was extremely clean. read more

Amazing, Julianna is the best artist I have ever seen! Jamie also does a really good job on lash extensions!

I had my eyebrows tattooed couple years ago really like the place I made an appointment for today with Ben he was not there when I got there at my appointment time I tried calling no answer I waited 30 minutes no show then I get a message asking why I left . Ben stated what's the big deal I'm only 30 minutes late thanks for the 20 deposit you weren't going to get your tattoo today anyway he was rude and crude totally unprofessional I am so glad I did not get a tattoo by him read more

I had an appt with Chris Sellars which he is the sh!t by the way!! I had my kids names put on my arms, a tribal piece on my chest and a touch up on something I wanted cleaned up. Needless to say everything turned out perfect, even better than I had pictured it. The all day special is the way to go and they are the cheapest in San Diego period!!
