It smelled nice and everything was clean. The art was tasteful. They sterilized everything and showed us the chemical strip that showed that everything was sterilized. Nicholas was warm and kind and answered all my questions. I was shocked at how painless my septum piercing went; I wanted to add on a service but got scared. We had a little bit of trouble finding the place as he doesn't have a sign yet, but once we found it we were pleasantly surprised. Once inside you're met with a very clean waiting room with comfortable seating. It's a very calm environment which is important when you're having anxiety about getting a needle shoved through your body. Jay was very laid back, funny, extremely informative and knowledgeable. He was also understanding and did what he could to calm my nerves. It's been probably 18 years since I had gotten a piercing so I was a tiny bit on edge. He answered every obnoxious question my friend and I had without getting annoyed... if he was annoyed he certainly is good at hiding it. The entire process was really quick. I appreciated that because the longer something takes...the more time I have to get worked up over it. Once he was done he explained where the used needles go and where he sends the tools to be sterilized. When it came time to pay he went over what to use for cleaning. He was very friendly and thoroughly explained everything without prompting, from what type of metal is used for the piercing to what products to use for aftercare. He used the needle for the earlobe piercing, which is known to be better than a piercing gun for healing. I haven't had any problems with healing so far. Everything was clean and efficient. Over the years prior to my employment I would stop by turnpike on a whim with friends and get small tattoos as walk ins. I've never had a bad experience here as a client or as an employee. The client's ages range from toddlers to the elderly, which I think says a lot when you consider some have been going there for well over 20 years. My stylist listened to what I wanted and tried her best to work with my difficult hair when it came time to blow it out. I was NOT fond of her styling technique at all, but she gave me a good cut. I dont think they've convinced me to return as a loyal customer, but I would consider returning if I needed an emergency cut. Pricing is inexpensive - moderately expensive, depending on the degree of service. I had a cut, wash and blow dry and it was $60 (should have been $50 - apparently it was an additional $10 to blow out my thick hair...and it wasnt even completely dried and the style was sub-par). Parking is convenient and easy access to/from the Merrit & 91.
