I'm not really a morning person that's why when we have our Juander Mt. Rainier bandit and I always started our hike late! Sometimes it's already lunch time. In result it's already late evening when we arrived Packwood. Restaurants are closed and no nearby town in Packwood that has eateries. That's why 24hrs convenient stores came in handy. This location don't have packed meals but still grateful for being available 24/7. So canned goods and cup noodles are enough for us to fuel evenings to our tummy who's struggling to function well. Oh btw, their aircon here is always in blast so prepare to grab your sweater/jacket coz it's freezing in here. Lol. The staff is not the friendliest but I can managed to that. It is quite obvious that this place charges higher for guests, vs locals. The price I paid for 3 small items was a ridiculous amount, and they did not offer me a receipt even though I waited for it. They tried to distract me with random compliments during payment, but I caught on right away. It's unfortunate, but I decided to pay them anyways since it is a local business, and I like to donate for those in need once a month. I'll consider this my monthly donation, but please understand, that people aren't as stupid as you would prefer. I recommend considering being more ethical, and to treat your guests fairly. I stopped here for gas during the winter of 2021 and bought their chicken strips to eat on the road trip home. Now normally I wouldn't write a review for a gas station stop but OMG the chicken strips were the best I have ever had in my life! I loved those things, a bit spicy but SO worth it! I just wish I could learn their secret to making them lmfao. read more

Monster energy drinks clearly marked 2 for $4.25, cashier tries to charge $6. I try to point out sale and he tells me, "take it or leave it" so I leave it. Apparently they don't need to honor posted prices and charge whatever they want. Clerk was rude, it was unnecessary, they lost a sale. read more

This place IS NOT a Texaco, it is now and been a Shell for long time- we went here to get gas and refill my cup and since they have Pepsi products I got the refill, the prices were a little high though, I was charged $1,71 for it which is on the higher side of getting that cup refilled- the gas prices also of course are a little higher, but the food offerings inside the store are pretty good read more

An average gas station and convenience store. What sets it apart is the great quality of service and the knowledge of the cashier. We lost cell phone service way before getting to Packwood and still had no service in town. We had an address for the place we were staying at but no idea how to get there. This very friendly cashier, with some help from another customer, knew exactly where the street we were looking for was--and it is not in an easy to find or central area--and gave us perfect directions. We were in Packwood for just over 24 hours and we stopped at the Tatoosh Food Mart 4 times to stock up and refuel (our stomachs and our wheels). This is a clean and well organized convenient store with a sub shop/taco bar. It is pretty obvious this used to be a Subway/Taco Time, which is now not a Subway/Taco Time, but sure looks and tastes like a Subway/Taco Time. There is an area to sit and eat your non-Subway/non-Taco Time meal deal next to a rack of "I Heart Packwood" shirts. Staff was friendly at the non-Subway/non-Taco Time area and at the front counter. Did I mention this place was clean? Being in the presence of a clean convenient store will make me pleased as punch for about 6.75 days. Tip: Don't shoplift. They post pics of all shoplifting perpetrators in their window and write "busted" in a sharpie over the perp's head and then ban that perp for life. Those damn perps and their damn perpetrating at the Tatoosh Food Mart! read more

***DONT EXPECT THEM TO LET YOU USE THE BATHROOM, NO MATTER HOW MUCH GAS YOU BUY. Here's the story: We often ski at White Pass and always top off our tank, get snacks, and use the restroom at the Packwood Shell station on our way back down the mountain. Today it took us about 4 hours to get down the mountain because of a roll-over accident on the highway, so by the time we got to Packwood, My husband and I needed to use the bathroom and my son desperately needed a diaper change. We got gas as usual ($62 today) and went inside to get drinks and use the restroom...only to find a sign directing us outside to portable toilets because the interior restrooms were closed because of "septic system over-use." I went to the counter and asked the attendant if I could use the restroom to change my son's diaper, making sure she understood that we did not intend to use the toilet or sink. She refused, saying that the restrooms close at 8 per her manager's instruction. I ended up having to change my son's diaper in the middle of the store, as it was 30 degrees and snowing outside, and there was no other dry place to do the change. In case you didn't catch that: ***THE ATTENDANT PREFERRED THAT I CHANGE MY KID'S DIAPER IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CONVENIENCE STORE VS ALLOWING US THE PRIVACY OF THE RESTROOM*** Shell, if you can't give your employees the flexibility to open a bathroom door for a toddler's diaper change, you obviously don't need my further business. I will buy my $60-80 worth of gas at the Morton Chevron from now on. read more

We visited twice on 6/6/14. They made us burritos, to order, from obviously fresh fixings, provided their clean restrooms, and gave us excellent directions (the first time) to Mt. Ranier park and (the second time) to Seattle. It's basically a quick-mart but it's as good as quick-marts get. I don't expect to be treated so well so far from home. Such nice people. read more
