We have been members here for about 5-6 months so far, going about once a week to a class that…read moreworks out either for Wednesdays or Saturdays. Overall I'm a solid 4.5 / 5 for it. The inside is pretty clean and continuously rearranged week to week based on planned activities. The speaker they use to play music is not too loud for those out there with sensitives. The staff welcoming you in is nice to greet you in and out, and the experience is typically a pleasant and fun atmosphere. This has been a great way for our ASD level 3 child to have an opportunity to be included and participate when he wants to. The structure here is not as strict as like a "Kidstrong" gym where they're constantly trying to round them back to participate - if they don't want to or are not feeling it, then there is no pressure here...and for this family it is appreciated. The "one person per kid and no more" is pretty strictly enforced, to the point of being called out privately during the session for any newbies that may not know. I was pretty annoyed by the way the instructor I had handled it at the time. If I had known kindly or with a sign that made that more clear then we would have not got in trouble, lol. Anyway, there's a viewing area where you can sit and watch in the distance. My -1 star here is around some of the equipment. I hit my head so hard once trying to keep the kiddo safe that I'm pretty sure it was a mild concussion. So, take it from me, be aware of your surroundings. Not all areas are fully padded up, so don't think this is a "my kid can play and I get a break" experience. Prepare for one of you to be hands-on and active - otherwise, someone is getting hurt at some point. My examples are no covers on some of the hard edges on the windows, and to the equipment involving on the hanging bars near the entrance and viewing rooms. I would definitely recommend a strategy around your attendance based on whether or not school is in session or not - it seems that the number can be quite excessive in attendance at times, so if that is a bother to you or your kiddo then plan accordingly. See you there! At least until we breach wanting to cancel one day - our kiddo loves it so much i think we're here until he's burned out on it.

Do not send your child to this "camp". There is no adult…read moresupervision, other than the lady who owns it. There is a small, dirty pool for the children to use daily, which has nothing to prevent accidentally falling in, no life saving equipment, and depth is unmarked. I cannot tell if the owner or any of the teenagers working for her are trained in lifesaving or first aid. The only restroom and changing room (one for both genders) for the children is in the owner's house, on the property. After my child's first day at the camp, I discussed with another parent, whose child was also in the camp (very close friends of ours), my concerns. The second day camp, my friend called the camp and spoke with the owner's teenaged daughter about our concerns. (this daughter keeps track of payments etc....not the adult owner)The daughter put my friend's mind at ease. 20 minutes later the owner called my cell phone several times in a row before I could get to it. Seeing that it was the horse camp I panicked, thinking something had happened to my child. I called her back. She said, "First of all, have you paid?" (I paid my deposit and tried to pay her the first day with debit...to which she said to pay her cash....hmmmmm...anyway we discussed the payment and I was to give her a check on the second day when I picked up my child) I asked if my child was ok. She was. She accused me of trying not to pay. Then...."and secondly, so and so's mom just called. Do you have a problem?" In a very aggressive way, she accused me of going behind her back and talking about the place to my friend and other parents. At my friend's advice, I called owner back because she wanted to "start over". She apologized and went on and on about crazy stuff....talking so fast I could hardly understand her. I just listened. Then she started talking about my payment and said that she was upset because we had no communication about payment. At this point I finally spoke. I told her she would get her f-ing check.....then she cut me off and told me to come get my f-ing kid. 10 minutes later, while I am on my way, she called again to tell me to come get my kid and hung up on me. At this point I called my husband who was closer to the place than I was and certainly not as pissed off as I was, to go get her. 10 minutes after that she called me again to know when I was coming to get my kid. At this point I was being a smart ass and told her that we would get there when we got there. Then she asked me if I was mentally ill and repeatedly, like a chant, told that I needed medicine. I had to interrupt her chanting to ask her what time she would like me to tell the police to come to uninsured, unlicensed business. The first day I had ever spoken to that woman my gut instinct told me something was very off. In addition, my child was stung by a wasp on that 2nd day and none from the camp even told me.

She grew up there, and the people there are part of her story. Morning Star is an amazing facility run by amazing people, and their Summer Camp lives up to the reputation. Our daughter absolutely loves the activities, field trips, free play, and always talks about how good their lunch menu is! Their Camp Coordinator is an amazing guy - he cares about the kids and about their ability to just have fun in the summer. Now that she has aged out, we will deeply miss spending time there each summer, but we 100% recommend it to anyone looking for summer options. Thank you, Morning Star!
