Totally safe and owned by kind hearted people. They let you into their home and treat you like their children! Rewarded with sweat treats and tons of fun crafts. Do not send your child to this "camp". There is no adult…read moresupervision, other than the lady who owns it. There is a small, dirty pool for the children to use daily, which has nothing to prevent accidentally falling in, no life saving equipment, and depth is unmarked. I cannot tell if the owner or any of the teenagers working for her are trained in lifesaving or first aid. The only restroom and changing room (one for both genders) for the children is in the owner's house, on the property. After my child's first day at the camp, I discussed with another parent, whose child was also in the camp (very close friends of ours), my concerns. The second day camp, my friend called the camp and spoke with the owner's teenaged daughter about our concerns. (this daughter keeps track of payments etc....not the adult owner)The daughter put my friend's mind at ease. 20 minutes later the owner called my cell phone several times in a row before I could get to it. Seeing that it was the horse camp I panicked, thinking something had happened to my child. I called her back. She said, "First of all, have you paid?" (I paid my deposit and tried to pay her the first day with debit...to which she said to pay her cash....hmmmmm...anyway we discussed the payment and I was to give her a check on the second day when I picked up my child) I asked if my child was ok. She was. She accused me of trying not to pay. Then...."and secondly, so and so's mom just called. Do you have a problem?" In a very aggressive way, she accused me of going behind her back and talking about the place to my friend and other parents. At my friend's advice, I called owner back because she wanted to "start over". She apologized and went on and on about crazy stuff....talking so fast I could hardly understand her. I just listened. Then she started talking about my payment and said that she was upset because we had no communication about payment. At this point I finally spoke. I told her she would get her f-ing check.....then she cut me off and told me to come get my f-ing kid. 10 minutes later, while I am on my way, she called again to tell me to come get my kid and hung up on me. At this point I called my husband who was closer to the place than I was and certainly not as pissed off as I was, to go get her. 10 minutes after that she called me again to know when I was coming to get my kid. At this point I was being a smart ass and told her that we would get there when we got there. Then she asked me if I was mentally ill and repeatedly, like a chant, told that I needed medicine. I had to interrupt her chanting to ask her what time she would like me to tell the police to come to uninsured, unlicensed business. The first day I had ever spoken to that woman my gut instinct told me something was very off. In addition, my child was stung by a wasp on that 2nd day and none from the camp even told me.

I've never had any issues with the teachers or parents aside from the occasional fight or two that all kids get in as they grow up. Security here is A1 as well. You have to pass Biometrics and then a separate door with a passcode on a keypad. They do pick up from about 5 or 6 schools around West Knoxville and my daughters happened to go to one of those so that is very convenient. They have a specifically labeled bus. They also have a pretty cool summer program for kindergarteners and above filled with field trips and educational items. It is conveniently located and off the street of Kingston Pike in the Farragut area so anyone in West Knoxville will be happy. I definitely recommend this to any parent looking for a place but I know they are rarely free and always filled up which I suppose is a good thing. Kids won't stop and neither will this staff. The head director is pretty involved and asks me what we are doing daily and I know you don't always get that from staff at a childcare location. Highly recommend

They told us we could have our son come in the fall with no specific date and I called and the director was always on a bus route or not in office with no call back. I called in spring no answer and now it is almost end of summer and I just want my money back. We did not get a spot nor would I send my kid to this facility. I have now spoke with the director twice this week but she keeps blowing me off saying she need to speak to admin or name isn't in there database and it's always "I'll call you tomorrow." They have probably spent my money and this is ridiculous!!

We recieved a call back and were told they had availability, and they scheduled a visit with us. The visit was confirmed, so my husband brought my daughter to check it out. Upon arrival, the director was not there. They waited and waited but unfortunately the director never came. With that said, the office lady jumped in and offered a packet, but could not offer pricing or much info (main reason we went was to have an understanding of pricing). So I emailed the director and mentioned we unfortunately didn't meet her but I was hoping to get more information on pricing. She responded stating they have not availability and to let her know if we would like to go on the waiting list. This felt a bit cold, as I was initially told the week before there was space, and I didn't even receive sympathy for missing the appointment. Seems to be lack of communication amongst the team, and we did not have a good experience TRYING to get more information on the program. With that said, we will be looking elsewhere for daycare options.

The staff doesn't seem to connect with the children well, and aren't always very pleasing to be around. Communication is a lack there of, it was always difficult to get information out of the staff if there were "incidents" that happened at the daycare. It doesn't matter to them how long your child as been there if they are "too much to handle" they will not be afraid to let your child go. Although, your child has been there since they were 6 months old. There are better places in the area to take your children. NOT HERE.

The staff is exceptional--kind, thoughtful, attentive, and genuinely invested in the children. They go above and beyond every day, and it shows in how comfortable, confident, and happy our kids have always been there. We especially love Morning Star's intentional recognition and celebration of different cultures. Our children have learned so much--not just academically, but socially and emotionally as well. They are exposed to "all the things" in a warm, inclusive, and nurturing environment. Dropping our kids off always felt like leaving them with extended family. Morning Star has played such a meaningful role in our children's early years, and we are incredibly grateful for the care, love, and foundation they've been given. Highly recommend to any family looking for a place where children are truly known, loved, and supported.
