The oxtail was amazingly cooked and the plantains were delicious too. I highly recommend getting FuFu with the oxtail because the combination is the best. I will definitely be coming back here and bringing some friends. Sabina is an amazing woman and so friendly.

Well, on Sunday, I woke up late. I slept in because they say God worked six days a week and the…read moreseventh day was the Sabbath a day of rest. Unfortunately, I am not like God. I had to work that day, so I woke up looking for some good energy. After all, that's what food is supposed to do: give you energy. I was on a mission to find a good sandwich that day! I've been looking for a good one since Friday. This was no ordinary sandwich I was looking for; I wanted a bodega sandwich just like the ones in New York City. I went to a place on Sixth Street in Harrisburg, but they were closed on Sundays. Then I went to another place, and they were also closed at 12 noon. I decided, "You know what? You can't go wrong with pizza," but the pizza shop's food was no good either. I finally ended up at Julie's African cuisine place on Cameron Street. The reason I came to this place is because, while delivering Uber Eats, I picked up an order that smelled amazing. I got a chance to talk to the staff, and because I'm a very adventurous eater, I decided to eat there. There was a lady ordering food in front of me, and I said, "Give me exactly what she got!" I didn't know how to pronounce it because I do not speak the language; however, it was delicious. The goat was tough meat and the fish was fried perfect, yet it had a lot of bones and not a lot of meat on it. However, it was still very good! With every bite, I felt like I was teleported over to Africa, hanging out with all the giraffes walking with my bare feet in the countryside then bouncing over to the beautiful city of Ghana dancing away in the nightlife! The food I had is what you see in the picture here! Another thing to know is that I didn't get sick after eating the food, which means they are clean in the kitchen. That tells me everyone is washing their hands and the food is not reheated or sitting out overnight. Being a retired truck driver, I learned that lesson the hard way. Thank me later ;D I hope my review helps you!

I had dinner a Casablanca with my husband and in laws last Saturday when we spent the day exploring…read moreNew Castle and Wilmington, and it was quite the experience. From the outside, it doesn't look like much; in fact, it looks like a bit of a dive from outside. But when you walk in, you are transported. The design of the restaurant is so special - community tables, pillows, tapestries, waterfall features, tiles, and belly dancing. The food was a little inconsistent. We shared many dishes: Bastilla (baked layers of filo dough, eggs, chicken, almonds, sprinkled with cinnamon and powdered sugar); hummus (chickpeas, tahini, crushed garlic, lemon juice, sprinkled with paprika and olive oil, served with pita bread); Spanakopita; salad trio (eggplant salad, cucumber and tomato salad, and carrot salad); lamb tagine (stew of lamb, onions, and roasted peppers topped with honey and served with rice); Moroccan chicken with harissa cumin sauce; mujaddara (cracked bulgur wheat cooked with lentils and caramelized onions); and mint tea. I wish they didn't serve bottled waters, and the food was mostly good but not the most consistent. Our mujaddara wasn't served with the yogurt sauce listed on the menu, and the lamb with the tagine was incredibly fatty, making some of it inedible. The mint tea was really really really sweet - like syrup! I also wish the bastilla had a little less powdered sugar (I like on the dish, but it was A LOT of powdered sugar), and it was quite dry. But the eggplant salad, carrot salad, hummus, and mujaddara (even without the yogurt sauce) were great. I would happily have eaten just those dishes. They were busy - it's a popular place - but service was also a challenge. It took us almost a half hour to get the check and pay. I had to ask for the bill twice and then it still took a while to get it, for it to get picked up, and for it to come back to us. It's pretty bad if I'm considering walking up to the bar to get the check and pay. I loved the ambiance and the character. I loved that you can't tell how amazing it's going to be inside when you see the outside of the building - it's a surprise for sure. Our experience was that the food was a bit inconsistent, but it certainly was a fun meal.

Dinner and a show, I'm down! The show was good, but the food was just fine. Everything leaned too sweet for my liking. Our group of 4 got the $30 each 7 course family style meal. Spicy (not even that spicy!! (2/5 spice level IMO)) chicken and the eggplant dish at the beginning were my favorite dishes.
