I have lived within 30 miles of Leo's Homemade Ice Cream for the majority of my life... and somehow…read morenever knew it existed. Which, honestly, feels like a personal failure at this point. When my Friday night post-dinner dessert plans fell apart, Leo's popped up as a backup option -- and what a plot twist that turned out to be. We arrived around 7:15pm on what was easily the nicest Friday evening of the year so far, and the place was PACKED. Line out the door, people everywhere, full-on "this must be good" energy. But here's the impressive part -- the line moved FAST. Before I knew it, I was inside trying to make one of life's hardest decisions: choosing a flavor. Leo's offers a huge variety of homemade ice cream flavors, and you can tell they take pride in having something for everyone. From classic favorites to more creative options -- and even a sugar-free vanilla option -- there's a ton to choose from. I genuinely stood there for a minute just taking it all in. I ultimately went with a kid's dish of S'mores, and WOW...this was easily one of the best S'mores ice creams I've ever had. Super creamy, perfectly balanced, and packed with flavor. The graham cracker, chocolate, and marshmallow all showed up exactly how they should -- no one ingredient overpowering the others. Just smooth, nostalgic, campfire-in-a-bowl perfection. Also, can we talk about value for a second? $3.50 for a kid's dish? In this economy?! Absolutely worth it. One of the biggest surprises, though, was the space itself. There's plenty of on-site parking, and out back is a huge picnic area with tables, chairs, and even a covered patio. It's the kind of setup that makes you want to linger -- not just grab ice cream and go. Total summer evening vibes. And I have to give a quick shoutout to something I deeply appreciate: their hours. Leo keeps it simple -- open every day from 12pm to 9pm. No guessing, no seasonal "are they open today?" confusion, no wonky schedule to keep track of. Just consistent, reliable ice cream access, which I respect immensely. Now that I know Leo's exists, it's officially in my regular rotation. I already have a mental list of flavors I need to go back and try (including that sugar-free vanilla, because now I'm curious), and I can absolutely see myself spending warm evenings out back enjoying more of Leo's frozen goodness. Better late than never, I guess -- but wow, have I been missing out.

Great ice cream and great shop with lots of indoor seating with large outside pavilion and garden.read more

I've been coming to 3B Ice Cream in Duncannon since I was a kid, and it's long overdue that I sing…read moreits praises. Ice cream is one of my favorite summertime activities, and 3B is an annual tradition. They always have plenty of trusty standbys along with rotating new flavors, so there's truly something for everyone. Parking is available on-site (though limited), ordering is done at a walk-up window, and while there's no indoor seating, a few picnic tables outside make it easy to enjoy your treat on the spot. They also sell quarts of their flavors to take home--which is a major win. On this visit, I went for their seasonal Pumpkin Caramel Walnut Sundae and oh my goodness--it was heaven in a dish. I ordered the kid size and it was still huge! For $5, I gladly accepted the challenge of finishing it. Pumpkin ice cream, a generous drizzle of warm caramel, a thick layer of wet walnuts, all topped with whipped cream and a cherry. It was the perfect way to ease into fall without breaking the bank. 3B's is a true Central PA staple for good reason: consistently delicious ice cream, consistently reasonable prices, and consistently happy customers. A must-stop spot if you're in the area.

Stopped here for a cold treat after a long day of tournaments…read more Got here right before the rush hit. When you walk to the front door, there's a sign that directs you to enter from the left side of the building. The front doors are where you exit from. Upon entering, there's an unusual smell. It's not the ice cream or a sweet smell, kinda of an irritating chemical smell. Not sure if that's common here but it was distinct. This place does have over a dozen or so flavors as one time. Toppings are available and cost extra. Portions are not consistent. The small dish of ice cream was packed to the brim of the dish while the large ice cream dish showed each small scoop that was put in it. The patrons behind me ordered small dishes of ice cream too and those portions I would have considered to be a large. Even they questioned it being a small. There is some seating inside but it gets cluster very fast since there's a line of people standing in line to order. We took our ice cream back to our hotel since it was a short drive down the road. Staff was not friendly. The only reason I gave it 3 stars was the convenience of there being ice cream near the hotel and both my husband and son liked it. This place sells ice cream, milk, cheeses and ice cream cakes.
