Another gem for cocktails in Stockholm!…read more The place was very intimate and charming with a very interesting menu showcasing about 12-15 drinks. Everything sounded delicious and I followed the bartender Johan's suggestion to try the White Strawberry as it met all my flavor notes (fruity, not too sweet, semi strong drink). My friend got the Black currant leaf as she liked something whiskey based and it was a bit stronger than it sounded on the menu. I really liked how the bar/restaurant only sources local ingredients that are in season so the drinks were very tasty and refreshing. We sat by the bar and chatted with Carl and learned so much about the cocktail culture and "dance tax" in Sweden!

Vinet Fredrik körde med maten var perfekt match, samt ett fantastiskt rött vin i sig själv. Vi avslutar detta "meal for kings" med en ostbricka och lämnar otroligt mätta, glada och imponerat över nivån. Här blir man utan tvivel stammisar. Tack Fredrik och Fredrik!

It's cozy and warm, which will be perfect for those cold winter nights when you've forced yourself to go out and be social. Like any run-of-the-mill pub in Stockholm, you have loads of regulars, lots of beer, and the standard food (pizza, kebab dishes, burgers, plankstek, etc). The pizza looked super good, but I wanted to try the plank steak. So glad I did, because it was delicious! The meat was very well cooked and the presentation was beautiful. The garlic butter underneath the fresh mushrooms? WOW! That really took me by surprise; it was tasty! The potatoes could've used a bit more salt and to cook for a little less time, but that didn't ruin the dish for me. The bacon wrapped asparagus is my favorite part of plank steak, so I wish there had been more of it. The dish filled me up though, so no complaining from my end. The staff is super friendly and you can tell they love what they do. All my questions were answered politely and with smiles (and I can ask a LOT of questions!), and the service was fast. I would definitely recommend checking this place out if you're by Solna Station. It's easy to miss because Basic Bar och Kök is closer to the station, but walk just 1.5 more blocks and you're there. I will have to visit again to solidify the 4 star rating, but so far so great!

Located across the street from cosmopol casino in a busy commercial area down the street from the…read morecentral train station. Very bustling and crowded spot on weekends, make a reservation as I had to wait a while to get in. I asked for Fanta and got "Zingo" instead, it was pretty good. I ordered thier seafood "casserole" which is actually a soup with chunks of fish and mussels in a tasty broth, I enjoyed it although I felt the quantity wasn't enough. The server was very friendly, gave us bread and a craft of water rather promptly. Our only issue was getting our main course, it took almost more than a half hour, I did not want to spend more than an hour here, I had already finished my Zingo by the time the food was brought. I couldn't resist. Someone else paid my meal so can't comment on the price. But like anywhere else in Scandinavia beware when you order alcohol as it is very pricey. Once you get through the young hipster weekend crowd and sit down you'll have a pleasant experience, hopefully the food wait doesn't happen often.

The pork belly is outstanding. It's not always on the menu, but if it is, don't even bother…read moreconsidering any other dish: just put the menu down, and order the pork belly. As much as I spent most of this trip to Sweden complaining about how expensive everything was, their pork belly was just an amazing rendition of a ubiquitous dish that it seems like any self-respecting restaurant thinks they must offer. The execution of a particularly generous serving was stellar: an absolutely crispy skin overlying bite after juicy bite of pork beneath. The caramelized apples were also great, elevating a familiar pairing in a way that I just had not tasted before. I went back a second time in hopes of closing off my Swedish trip with the same dish, but unfortunately had the meatballs (this is how I found out it's not always on the menu). Nothing spectacular there - pretty standard as I've had elsewhere, but not bad. And certainly nothing like the pork belly.

It is a scientific fact that I can eat my body weight in burgers.**…read more (** not real science) So when I found out the spot that Yelp boasted had "the best" burgers in Stockholm was just a five minute walk from my airbnb? Glee. Pure glee. My visit was a short one and on this occasion, I didn't have time to sit in for dinner, but the call to burgerdom was strong and so I headed in this direction hoping they did takeaway. First relevant fact: they do takeaway. Walking in the door, I was greeted by a very nice woman and told that yes, I could order the burger to devour at home. Woohoo!! However, having seen the space, I was a little disappointed that I didn't get to stay to eat. This room is right up my alley! Second relevant fact: this place is decorated like if a hipster and a lumberjack had a baby and that baby grew up to be rather posh and decided to open a restaurant. It's a nice blend of comfort and polish. I would have happily stayed to eat there, especially because i'm sure they had some interesting craft beer in the mix (I can't confirm this as I didn't see the drinks menu). But alas, I was on a schedule so after ten minutes, I grabbed my takeaway, paid the lovaly gal at the counter and skipped back to my place. Third relevant fact: for a city that is SO expensive to drink alcohol in, Stockholm is doing it right with food portions. This meal was a great size! With two sides and a sizable burger it was well worth the price. Also, I tip the hat to whoever found these takeaway boxes, because it keeps the food hot and separate - no messy sauce disasters here! But the million dollar question: how was the burger? Fourth relevant fact: Stockholm you boast a darn fine burger... but it's not taking the "best" trophy quite yet. Ok, so don't get me wrong - this is a GREAT burger! The pattie is sizable, well seasoned and well cooked (god bless you people who understand medium rare burgers!) and I very happily devoured the whole thing but I found the bun a little lacking on this. For burger with so much oophm, I would have liked a heartier bun. So it doesn't take my top burger honours but if I lived in the city, I would definitely make the trip for it and if I'm staying in the area again, i'd be back here with bells on!

I usually give 4 stars to places with super staff. I love the staff here!…read more But the food was mediocre and the place noisy. One hamburger and two beer = 350 sek. Pretty normal but nonetheless a hefty amount. So 3 stars. Gold star for having rubharb pie.

Location: 5 stars. Chose this hotel for its central location as you can walk from the Arlandria…read moreexpress airport train stop at Central station, you can walk to old town and the hotel sits on top of the pedestrian shopping street. Rooms: 4 stars. Our room was two twins and a full bath. It was nicely decorated, the beds were comfortable and it had a tv. My two small complaints is that we were hot despite turning the AC down (the hotel offered to come up and take a look, we thought the following day it felt cooler so cancelled that but were still warm so this complaint is as much on us anyone) and I'd like a fan in the bathroom. Some rooms don't have windows apparently, but ours did into a courtyard which didn't both me. Breakfast: Options were plentiful, hot eggs and sausage, yogurts and cereals and meats and cheeses and bread. They also will prepare breakfast in a bag for you if you are leaving too early to catch the normal breaky which had a sammy, a smoothie, apple and muffins. A truly nice touch Extras: They have a well functioning baggage storage room, so if you are arriving early or leaving late, definitely make use of this. The bar is adorable in a 20s decore and our bartender was sweet and made us some killer cocktails.

You should know about the poor working conditions the cleaning staff face. My wife recently started…read moreworking there as a cleaner and experienced a situation that felt both unfair and unprofessional. Employees are expected to clean a certain number of rooms decided by management, and if they do not finish in time, they are apparently expected to continue working without pay just to complete the assigned workload. The work itself is physically demanding, and despite working hard, staff seem to receive criticism rather than support or constructive feedback. What made the situation even more upsetting was how communication was handled. My wife received absolutely no feedback or explanation from management. Instead, she eventually realized something was wrong because she had simply been removed from the group chat. That was apparently how she discovered she was no longer part of things. As far as we understand, this happened after she asked a single question: whether it was really acceptable, from a labor rights perspective, to require employees to work unpaid if they could not complete the number of rooms assigned by hotel management. She did not create conflict or repeatedly argue; she simply asked one reasonable question. Being excluded without explanation after raising such a concern feels deeply troubling and raises serious questions about how staff are treated.
