I had an outdoor lunch here once, a greek salad and a tomato juice, after a strenous bike ride. The service was good and I was able to put my bike near the table. I walk past here most nights, and their always seems to be a smartly dressed crowd, hanging around and having drinks. I may come here one night and have a cranberry juice and listen to the pianist ( they offer a piano bar as well ). Haven is one of the most fashionable places in this area and you can see why.

Then again, I wouldn't say the food is so outstanding. It's definitely a good standard but nothing we had really blew me away. We were sharing though, so I didn't get to order everything to my taste. We also slightly under ordered - we thought 2 mains and 2 vegetable sides would be enough for 3, but we could have done with another dish. Conclusion: I wouldn't travel far to this restaurant but if you're in Surbiton or nearby it's a great option.

There are a load of options, the food is fresh, and the service is top knotch. I recommend any of their 'bbq'd' dishes and of course the samosas (but who would not recommend a samosa?). My friends and I ate here for brunch yesterday around 1pm. Granted it was busy but the staff seemed…read morereally slow for the most part. Slow to come take orders (had to ask someone to come to our table and even then the woman took a leisurely stroll to get there), had to wave someone to refill water during our meal, had to get up and ask a server to get our bill and that took a while. Our waitress for the most part, was unfortunately, a nonsmiling young woman with two small buns on her head; she was nothing short of surly. When the galettes came, she stood there with the plate and barked the order. When the bill came, she actually somewhat tossed the small plate the bill was in so that it clattered on the table. I remember my other friends looking startled. Thankfully no service is included but none was deserved. It's amazing what people put up with here that would NEVER fly in NY. Still shocks me as an expat. Anyway onto the food. It took a while to arrive (as did all our food) but my Roast Squash with goat cheese was delicious (I got the buckwheat batter). Stuffed with veg and the portion was quite large. My friends similarly praised their food and the prices are very good with no galettes or crepes being more than £9 (I think). I would consider returning save for the service. That's a dealbreaker for me and Senzala does not deliver.
