Gobi Manchurian, butter chicken, uttapams, saag paneer, Tandoori chicken, and chili chicken. These are a few of my favorite things. It all is delicious and they prepare the food fresh daily. Everything is made to order. The service is amazing. You are welcomed and made to feel at home as soon as you walk in. The owners are wonderful people and active in the community. They have a grocery section where you can purchase items to take home and cook if you so desire. The booths are comfortable, and there is enough seating. Came here for lunch and once we found out they do buffet style, we got really excited to try it. We used to live in Houston where there's a huge Indian community, so we've tried a lot of Indian food before and kinda know what to expect. The place is decorated really nicely. One thing I noticed is all the figures and little trinkets on the walls actually looked clean and not dusty, which tells me they take care of the place and clean well. It was pretty busy, but there was no wait. The server was nice and quick too. He was handling all the tables by himself and still made sure we were okay the whole time. They had a pretty good variety on the buffet -- curries, soups, salads, different meat options, and even chai. The restaurant is also connected to a grocery store, and from looking around they seemed to have a lot of stuff, so if you need to shop too this is probably a good spot. I also saw they have a bar area, but I'm not sure if it was open or not. Overall, everything was okay. Nothing super outstanding, but the buffet concept is good and convenient. Ate here twice while working in the area. The first night I ate at the restaurant. I ordered the Tandoori Chicken which came with rice and mint sauce and tomato chutney. The chicken was really good and the sauce and chutney were delicious. A few days later I did an order for pickup. I ended up getting the Lamb Dosa ( a huge Crepe stuffed with Lamb meat $8.95 ) and the Ginger Chicken (Boneless chicken cooked in a sweet and savory sauce made with mango and other spices $10.95 ). This Ginger chicken was absolutely delicious. The Dosa was good just not enough Lamb stuffed in the crepe. Prices were good for the dishes I ordered the two separate nights. I'm grateful that this restaurant is able to serve this small town that leaves much to be desired when it comes to diverse food options. There's even a market inside the shop so you can pick up some extra goodies on your way out if you wish. I'll just list some of the things I've tried so far, all of which you can't go wrong if you wanna risk it for the biscuit! We came here for my sister's birthday by her choice. I haven't had Indian in a long time so I was down with it. She said that they do a huge buffet for lunch and boy she wasn't kidding. It's also mad cheap. I think it was under $12 a person for as much heaping plates of Indian noms as you can dream of being whipped up. I hear that there used to be no Indian restaurants in this area and all of a sudden the town is starting to boom with a few of them which is great. Trying to recall everything I consumed is impossible but there were standout items: Saag paneer, butter chicken, tandoori chicken, a few cauliflower dishes, an interesting noodle dish I wasn't expecting, saffron rice, a few pakora dishes, indian deserts. I lost track of all of the curries but I tried to eat a bit of everything. Along with an array of condiments and sauces and freshly baked naan bread. Some of the food had some heat to it which I also appreciated. I left fat and happy. They also have a small little grocery nook set off to the side where you can pick up Indian and International ingredients for cooking. This was probably bizarrely one of my favorite dining experiences in Monroe. Especially the people that work here just seemed so friendly and welcoming. read more

Ordered a take away via DoorDash. The food was so badly packed when the driver lifted the bag from the vehicle it fell all over the floor, out of the base of the saturated paper bag. Walked in during lunch time, atmosphere was really nice. They were playing Indian pop. I ordered from the buffet, but I guess I should have ordered from the menu instead, or maybe they only serve the shrimp during their evening hours (I really wanted shrimp but settled for the butter chicken). Absolutely 10/10, AW-MAZING food. If you live in the area or are just passing through, this place is a MUST STOP. The Butter Chicken is literally the best thing I have ever eaten in my life. The buffet is great for first timers, or any timers, really. You can sample a little bit of everything to find your favorites. There's a little something for every palette, even the kids. If you want some suggestions, the Butter Chicken, Saag Paneer, Paneer Pakora, and Biryani are my favorites. if you like bread pudding, you must try the Bread Halwa for dessert. The restaurant changed locations and has a wider buffet w/ small grocery nook. There is a spice wall, vegan buffet area, carnivore buffet area w/ several desserts, salads, raitas and fruit choices. The foods were nicely spiced, very flavorful and fresh. Only 4 Stars because the Tandoori Chicken was over-charred giving the meat a bitter burned flavor, and a placard w/ indian name of dish & product in english eg saag=spinach or paneer=cheese, etc would be a nice addition. My wife and I were passing through Monroe after being on the road all day and went on a digital search for a vegan meal. Taste of India looked promising so we went not knowing anything much about the restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised. The owner guided us through the menu and even offered to prepare dishes especially for us substituting vegan ingredients. The cauliflower appetizer was great: felt the heat! And our entrees were delicious as well. One of the ways we rate a restaurant experience is by how the meal makes us feel several hours later. I'm happy to report we both felt great! In my opinion, this is the best restaurant in Northeastern Louisiana. The lunch buffet menu is changed regularly so you can try different foods. Dinner is served off an extensive menu and will leave you pleasantly full. Anyone can wrap duck meat in bacon. The food is good. The one guy is friendly. The man and woman who appear to be the owners are not so friendly. The man literally started cleaning buffet an removing food immediately after a foreign family walked in. It seemed very rude. My husband and I have been eating there for about 2 months once a week. AS I lay here preparing to go again today I hesitate only because the owner stares at you when fixing food. They were drying dishes at the table next to us last week and the owner just kept staring at our plates. I'm a small woman and don't eat much but he made me feel uncomfortable. I felt bad for the Indian family last week that came to enjoy food but seemed very upset with that man who seemed to rush their meal. He could have allowed them to eat comfortably.
